I think you completely missed the point. No one claimed EVERY single competitive gamer is a 12 year old racist severely lacking the vocabulary to communicate with anyone over the age of 50. That said, you're more likely to be insulted or called a racial slur than not whilst playing competitive games. Personally I prefer immersive (emergent?) games where I get lost for a week. Then again I'm loving the hell out of Trials Evolution atm.

Any source game including the TF2 which is free. In Steam under Library > Tools make sure Source SDK Base 2006 is installed then run our installer/desura installer. Restart steam and it should be listed under your games. Hope that helps :)

We never had shirts for sale but the music is still available for purchase as an MP3 album. Unfortunately the CDs were sold nearly at cost but with the additions Ed may wish to sell again. I gave away all my hard copies to friends thinking I'd buy more later myself haha. Check as well as amazon for the MP3 Albums. Will update if anything changes on that front.

Tatsur0 Jan 25 2013, 6:18pm replied:

I agree that would be cool but honestly the time involved and the fact that many of us already work 2 full time jobs + kids/family would make this an incredible undertaking and not one I think we could do as a free mod but I don't think it's an uncommon thought.

+3 votes   mod: NEOTOKYO°
Tatsur0 Jan 25 2013, 6:16pm replied:

Please make sure under Library > Tools you have Source SDK Base 2006 installed. If you do not and also lack a source game you can download TF2 free which comes with 2006 as well as 2007. Restart steam again and try once more. If that fails I suggest removing Neotokyo from your steam\steamapps\sourcemods folder and re-installing. Let us know if this helps.

+1 vote   mod: NEOTOKYO°
Tatsur0 Jan 19 2013, 1:29am replied:

freebird4481: This is all very basic. Like every other mod you'll need a version of Source SDK Base installed. For NeoTokyo you'll need to go to tools under library and make sure you have Source 2006 installed. Once you run the installer you then need to restart steam so it can repopulate. It should now be listed under Library > Games. We apologize for not providing instructions but this is usually common knowledge. I hope that helps.

Link? Also, your point? The price is almost free by today's standards and obviously some thought went into the design. I'm sure there are enough people interested in a bit of nostalgia mixed in with tower defense for their efforts to be noticed and their time not wasted.

+2 votes   article: Earth Defenders HD Released on Desura
Tatsur0 Jan 1 2013, 4:44am replied:

Actually each update requires you publish on Desura as it's not on Steamworks. Desura installs to Sourcemods while Steam installs to your common folder like other games released on Steamworks. ZPS still supports both and we publish separately on release.

Would love to see where we placed but can imagine it would be a huge undertaking and not every game has media prepared or could possibly complain of media that was available. Coordinating something like that would be very time consuming and though while I'd like people to see where we placed as did other games I can imagine that time being better spent on the future of IndieDB/ModDB/SlideDB. Course that's just my point of view.

Many mods are inspired by other projects whether game, film, etc. It is not only the inspiration that fans flock to but the hard work the modding community support. Also helps if you actually play the mod and appreciate what's new before judging a game by preconceptions. Still most importantly it's "Player's Choice" and that means they've grabbed the attention and support of more players making it difficult to argue. We all have our own personal preferences, they just had the majority.

I think the comments say more than the poll.

It all depends on the experience, quality, and overall production and development of the title that seems to set a price gamers feel are realistic and fair.

In the end Free (without micro-transactions) will always be "bring it on!" but many will be wary if even the bandwidth is worth it. There are however numerous free mods available with years of work put into them and game-play that keeps bringing them back.

$1-5 works well for impulse purchases imho. Some people wait for the insane sales or humble bundles hoping their game falls into that list.

$10-20 I think gives the impression that the game better be worth the cost but still falls into the affordable so likely to purchase category if what is being delivered matches that or exceeds it through Hype, Demos, Previews, Reviews, Free weekends, and in vary rare cases those who stopped pirating and have decided to support developers not bring them down.

If an Indie can sell for more than $20 I can only hope it doesn't start a trend like our bigger brothers have done each year but some games just hit that sweet spot or have had a lot of work done including a custom Engine, etc.

In the end I'm for the $15-20 but recommend doing your research before purchasing any title or downloading a free one.

We have to use steamworks to compile our patch (quite large) then ship it off to Valve who then needs to release it to the public. I would wager a guess that it may not actually be available till Monday but they've surprised us before.

I just once again finished Aquaria (having bought it like 3x now due to bundles or what not) and have to say I had a blast. I've not had the time to sift through the team news and what not but took notes during credits. I'd really like to thank Derek Yu and Alec Holowka for an incredible game that has gotten me through 2 weeks of quitting smoking (game was quite relaxing yet kept me good and focused) and to Naija's VA Jenna Sharpe who did an excellent job and would make a great fit in our own Indie project and will be looking to contact for that purpose when the time comes. To Jon Perry all I have to say is loved the Aquarian Language/Alphabet. While not overly complex it required you pay attention to quite a bit in the game like main menu transition to even begin to decipher right away. I use to do the same when I was a kid just to see if I could. Once again wanted to thank you all and anyone I may have missed for such an excellent game.

This is why we pointed out these were old WIP animations in the description. Shells eject after pump as they should now and as for the rotation on pump it's for style > realism, remember this is a game and not the real world. Have to balance between gameplay and realism.
