Welcome JuBzZ, look for Rebel Defiance, that is the only server currently live. Ensure you check the options for same version and Punkbuster and you should find it okay. Also look out for the Campaign which will be coming soon which should get you in on some of that multiplayer action you're after.

It sounds like the mail server is not working. We believe your account is registered, hence why you can't register again. You're just not getting a confirmation email. Try and login.

If that fails we'll get our webmaster to have a look at it for you. Unfortunately he has just gone on holiday, but he'll look into it when he gets back if you still can't login.

Yeah, sadly that is the only server currently operational. Has been quite a while since our last release.

We'll be starting a campaign event soon though, and that tends to get people coming out of the woodwork for some games, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Otherwise hop on during the usual Sunday night Community Games and you should find a few people on.

Hi there Shogun096,
Sorry to hear you're having troubles. Your best bet is to check out the link below:

Moddb.com

This deals with most issues you may run into on installation. Additionally you can go to the Fsmod forums and their Client Support boards which will have threads dealing with these issues.

Forums.fsmod.com

One of the key problems some people have when installing is installing a second component while the first is still installing. Another is making sure you have the correct final version of BF2142 because they had so many different versions at the end. You can find links to the correct version.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

TALON

Aye, unfortunately it was quieter on Sunday night, so we called it a day at around 10pm. We usually have a few games on a Sunday night, so turn up next week at 8pm and there should be someone about. Also look out for the new campaign that we'll be starting up soon. That usually gets players out of the woodwork.

Hope to see you out there soon.

I'm with you there, big epic space battles (essentially X-Wing) done with next gen graphics, a good mix of close quarters city or cap ship interior based battles and wide open battlefields such as Hoth and Endor. I'm just buzzing at the thought of that gritty Battlefield feel being applied to the Star Wars universe, which is what First Strike was all about achieving. If they take one thing from First Strike I'd like it to be Withering Fire, the game mechanic by which all battlefield assets are susceptible on some level to any and all weapons fire. So you don't feel you have to run away if you come face to face with a tank if you don't have the correct kit to effectively take it on, so even a hand pistol will do some damage, not a lot obviously, but if there are a load of you all firing pistols at that target? I think that was one of the strongest design decisions made on FS which really defined the gameplay and resulted in players working more readily as a team together to take down superior foes. It would be nice to see something along those lines make it into the new SW:BF.

From what you've said here it is hard to say. First off I'd make sure you've got the latest and correct version of First Strike, and BF2142. Then try and play the multiplayer and co-op maps and see if they work correctly.

So in conjunction with The First Strike Star Wars Battlefront Celebration Weekender let's hear what you'd like to see from a new SW: Battlefront now in the trustworthy hands of DICE. Gameplay of a similar style to the original SW:BF? Something more like DICE's current gameplay style from the Battlefield series? Heck, maybe you'd like to see some of the gameplay mechanics or other elements utilised in First Strike make an appearance? Or perhaps you're after something totally fresh and new? Let's hear what you think.

To celebrate the announcement at E3 that DICE are (at long last) producing a Star Wars Battlefront game. (If you need any inspiration DICE, don't hesitate to get in touch ;P) We feel we should have a bit of a weekender of First Strike action, Saturday and Sunday night from 8pm GMT (or BST actually, being Summer and all that). So feel free to hop on the Rebel Defiance server, and lets get some good games going while looking forward to the first DICE SW: Battlefront. I like to think First Strike will have inspired them in at least some small way all those years ago when the mod first came out and the team got invited to their studios to demo the mod.

All I can say is "About bleedin' time!"

See you out there troopers!
