Has been for a long time, just needed a tweak to a certain file to make it so. But as I've mentioned before, the new launcher sorts it so you no longer need to manually tweak any files to make it compatible.

When you have installed 1.5 you need to let the launcher auto update you to 1.55. Then you can use the manual patch to 1.6. If you haven't updated from 1.5 to 1.55 prior to trying to install the 1.6 patch? It won't work. Your best off just auto updating from 1.5 and allowing the auto updater in the launcher to get you bang up to date with 1.6.

There will be a full 1.6 installer released shortly. However if you have FS 1.5 use the launcher to auto update, this will download and install 1.55 and then 1.6 for you and you'll be good to go.

Sorry you feel the new launcher looks bland, yeah it isn't as pretty as the old one, but with this one we were going more for the functionality and technical improvements rather than aesthetics. Technically this thing is much better and should make running the mod and installing updates much smoother.

Good idea, we could do something along those lines, or if a community member wanted to do it we could then officially endorse it.

Hi there again, looking through our forum logs we had that same "DeprecationWarning:" error once, it was at a time when the server was down which is linked to our auto updater facility. When was the last time you tried to update or install the mod? As remember we just had a period when our server was down due to a malicious hacker attack. If you tried to update during that time you may have got this error. We're obviously back on-line now, so if you try again you should be okay. Give it a go, and if you still run into problems let us know.

Best of luck.

Ahh, no, I think I just mis-read your post actually. yeah head to our forums and the client support boards. The fact you can run it through the custom games facility, but not through the Launcher is strange. I'll have a rummage around and see if this issue has come up before.

Hi there Deltacommandos, that name sounds familiar. I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar however with this error. It might be a good idea to post this problem on our forums, though one of the more tech head Devs will probably catch this on here and have more of an idea of what might be causing your problem than I. Also it is always a good idea to check out our old installation guide which covers most problems you may run into during installation. And as you mention that you're having problems with the vanilla game it might be well worth looking into that first and making sure that BF2142 is running fine before attempting to install FS.

Hi Liberty, FS does work with the Origin version of BF 2142, and has done for some time now, though you did need to do a little tweak to make it work correctly. Basically you had to make a copy of your BF2142 exe and rename it to the First Strike exe to get that to work. Now however thanks to our new shiny launcher you shouldn't have to do that anymore as the clever little thing will do that for you.

Heh heh, I don't think we've even appeared on their radar, but who knows? I'd guess this was more likely nothing more than a random Hacker attack, though a bleedin' annoyingly timed one.

Imminently, but unfortunately this website attack has still crippled our forums and is now starting to cause production delays. Timing couldn't be worse really, As we were looking at getting the release candidate together (if this had happened a week later it wouldn't have mattered as much as the release would most likely have been out), so as soon as the forums are back up we should be in a position to complete that and get it released, but obviously until we can fix this attack issue on the website it is hampering our progress. Really quite annoying to say the least.

All BF2142 assets can take a maximum of 8 passengers and crew, with the AT-AT it finds itself in the same boat with 4 crew and 4 passenger slots.

We plan to have both the AT-AT Hoth battle and a quite extensive Echo Base all on the same map with objectives which will help to see the map progress and play out the same way as the sequence plays in the films.
