Freelance 3D modeller and games artist. Commenced my games industry career over 10 years ago, starting out at Warthog on the sci-fi FPS Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter, and a space shooter of Battlestar Galactica. Most recently worked in house for Sumo Digital on a Tennis release for Sega, Virtua Tennis 2009 for PS3, Xbox 360 & the Wii, and I also worked on Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing. I have recently begun to teach 3D modelling and how that relates to games at several educational institutions including the University of Bolton on a part-time basis. Mod work includes development team leader, lore advice and modelling work for the Battlefield 2142 Star Wars themed mod First Strike.

That would be the larger sizes of Null Sensor Station, in the forests and plains beneath the Mesa the Imperial installation is built on.

Love it, much more so than the Family Guy Star Wars stuff which I've found quite disapointing since the 1st, though the latest one was at least a bit better than Something, something, Dark Side.

Haven't seen the 3rd SW Robot Chicken yet, looking forward.

Yeah, it is an issue with the site unfortunately, we've tracked down the problem so it shouldn't happen again. Also we've just released an update of the mod itself which removes the mods dependency on the website being up for the launcher to run, so from now on whether the website is up or down the mod should launch successfully.

Apologies for the downtime.

Welcome back Memnoch, been a while.

Can't really say without more information, I presume BF2142 works okay? I also assume you're trying to run First Strike through the launcher?

This installation guide deals with most problems people have when installing First Strike.

If you look at all the issues raised here and still can't resolve your problem head over to the First Strike Client Support forums and someone will try and help you there.

Yeah, I think the pivot points must have been screwed up in that shot or something, can't believe I never noticed it before. Not to worry, it is all correct on the in game version.

That would be a Virella Systems Cargo Tanker, they were quite common in the old X-Wing and X-Wing vs TIE Fighter PC games along with the Bulk Freighter that is featured in some of our other maps.

Heh, love the work he has done on the Star Destroyer designs, but his take on EU Imperial Starfighters really takes the biscuit, the Gunboat is one of my fave EU ships in need of a 21st century makeover and his vision for that craft is spot on, as are his depictions of the TIE Defender and Scimitar Bomber (another of my EU faves), really excellent work.

Aye, just a Photoshop gag peeps, saw the new Sandtrooper in the shops and noticed that it was the first version to include the MG-15 blaster rifle which we use in the mod, it is rarely seen elsewhere, though recently there has been I think it was a Gentle Giant, Artefex or Sideshow Sandtrooper statue that also included the weapon. Also more recently as it has gained more recognition it has finally been given an official name (we called it an MG-15 based on it's real world weapon the blaster is based on as it had no Star Wars name at the time), the RT-97C.

I like to think that it's high profile role in our mod helped raise awareness of this particular weapon and got it a bit more love all round.

Anyhow as I said, saw it in a store and saw pure comedy gold in the making.

Welcome to the fold Airsoftzekk.

Saturday and Sunday nights are your best bet as that is when the Community Games are played, still just get on an empty server any time and people will tend to join.

Will look at putting up our server with a mix of co-op and standard maps on again.

Hi usablucape, there are plenty of timezone converters out there which can give you a conversion from GMT to your time zone in seconds, but because you asked so nicely.

19:00GMT converts to 14:00 U.S. Eastern/EST.

Oh, and the Teamspeak 3 server details for this event have now been updated on the news post above.

Hi DarkDiablos, no your BF2142 account will not be affected. As a mod this constitutes modified content and as such will not add to your BF2142 stats. First Strike has its own stats system which is independent of this, the results of which and can be viewed at our website.

Follow the installation instructions and you should be fine.

Being in Germany is no bad thing, First Strike players are mostly European so the time zones should be just fine for you. This weekend's event for example starts at 19:00 GMT a very Euro friendly time, and being the weekend we'll most likely get a few of our friends from the other side of the pond too.

Should be around half a dozen servers, is quiet around now, but get on at the weekend and it should be busier, also just pop on an empty server and people usually start to appear.

If you're not even seeing these servers you might need to check that you have everything set up correctly on the server menu screen, check this article for details on that:
