Hello all. I'm 15 years old and live in sweden. I'm a source sdk mapper.I mostly map for css and Half-Life 2. I like all kinds of music sorts, all that matters to me are if the song is good or not. My favorite thing to do is playing games, being with friends, map and listen to good music. Thats all about me for now, and check out my profile and group, Kleiner's Life.
We're sorry, but no blog posts were found here. Boring yes, but as confucius always said - if you have nothing good to say, why say anything at all? Check back later, perhaps something exciting will pop-up and be worth blogging about, like season 3 of the teletubbies.
Speak your mind, rant about games, mods and the development scene, it's simple and who knows maybe someone will read it and agree. It will feel right!

so, textures, ive spent so much time, allmost too much, looking for textures on google so i wonder if you have any comments on that? If you for example know a site that has textures, hopefully free ones because i cant afford to buy any, then tell me. :D
I have been wondering quite a time now how i could get my stuff up on moddb without creating a mod. You maybe wonder why and that is because its maps, and it could be used for a mod. Or, it can be used by me as a way to get in to a mod, a portfolio of some sort. Ive tested to do many map styles, some old, and some of my own. I can name em if you want.
Half-Life 2 or Gmod : rp_cooking, rp/gm_ratslife and rp_farmlife and that is like rp_cooking but it will be a far more extended one.
Counter-Strike:Source : dr_deathwheel, mg_ratslife, mg_trapbox and mg_planewars. mg_ is minigame maps and dr_ is deathrun maps.
There you have my work so far, sadly non of them are completed, and it will take a long time to complete them because i allways go back and do new stuff or set some finishing tutches, and that takes looong time^^
Now im working on a new map too, its called mg_wheel_race.
I built some wheel cars, all from normal 4 wheels to 8 wheels and 1 wheels. It will be hard to build the track, not so hard to make the cars. Its actaully pretty easy to do when youve done it once. ^^
Okey, thanks alot^^
just read yer post on one of my screenshots. I can't really tell you how to make things realistic. The only thing I can tell you is that I created my own textures, based off of refference, in the case of the screenshot, it was my own area I live at. other then that I use photos for refference. I never built maps 1:1, but I take in alot of ideas on how to create a texture and then the building, or vice versa. It takes alot of effort to build a map, keep going back and add to it. after one or two months you should have quite a detailed map. Ohh yeah for me the source engine is just awesome to work with. But yeah it depends I gues on what games you like.
Well, i allready do go back to maps and add to it, but i think the most hard part for me is to make it real, to make it so ppl think you looked on a real house or neighbour hood and copyed in hammer. The basic placement and structure. I actually think its easy and fun to do the detailed stuff. Allmost tend to do too much detail so it takes ages to compile map. xD
But, yeh, i will learn eventually :P
So, im a mapper, yes. and i would appreciate if you posted ideas here too. Maybe suggest a game, or just a plain old conversation.
