Generally, I really enjoyed the mod, however, there were a few things that took away from the overall good experience. The mod captures the feeling of the Black Mesa incident pretty well. Visually, the levels look amazing, added custom models also help the worldbuilding. However, in many cases, the visually stunning levels don't facilitate gameplay all that well, making engagements with enemies more an annoyance than enjoyment. Some of the "arenas" could really use a redesign to better take advantage of the enemy AI and make the engagements more fun and less artificially difficult. Another issue is the player guidance. There are too many unnecessary side areas that don't serve any purpose other than to get the player lost. Certain areas are cluttered with unnecessary lights and details that blind the player to the path they should be taking. Making it unnecessarily difficult to figure out which way to progress and what to do. The pacing could also use some work. The constant fighting gets tiresome, the "push a button and Vorts teleport in" formula is overused too much. More exploration/tension building sections would help fix the gameplay flow. I really hope these issues will be addressed as the mods get updated because they unnecessary take away from what is otherwise a very good mod made by what seems to be a very passionate team.
