I assume you are talking about the ISU-122, since the SU-122 was more of an assault tank (with the short barrel) firing HE rounds. The Soviet tanks were known to have poor sighting, but to compare the IS-2 is just as accurate and does more damage than the Panther gun. The ISU-122 has the same accuracy as the IS-2 gun with less damage. I did research on penetration values and they weighed in at somewhere between the Panther and Tiger (and leaving all others behind it with the closest being their own SU-85 behind it and the Jagdpanther and King Tiger ahead of it).

Try a game on Angoville with the absolute lowest settings in everything - that's the "litmus test" for the graphics settings. And if have a program like CCleaner it should clean out your temp folder (though I doubt that is the issue)

It usually means an AI text error(misplaced comma, forgotten word, etc....). But since you seem to be the only one getting it, I'm guessing a bad download :( You may have to redownload.

Do you have Coh:Opposing Fronts? If not, that is why.

Probably the "graphics settings issue". This version, even more so than other versions, is demanding. What you described sounds like exactly that. You have to lower your graphics settings (see the basic-training manual in tutorals here for help, finding the "sweet spot", and for the reasons behind it).

Here's a link for the Alpha Hotfix : Gamefront.com

It should fix the StuGIII missing RGT issue, and includes the Non-English fix.

Let me know if it works before I upload it to the main DL's

Oops - I forgot that didn't change the non-english files. I changed thousands if not 10's of thousands of lines of language code so I only worked in English. Then forgot to change them all to english before the release.

Here is a link to the patch (it will all be in English this time - sorry) for all non-english versions.

Gamefront.com

There will also be an upload at ModDB when approved.

Hello all. I have decided to retire, but I am releasing the Alpha version of v2.0 to the public. It was just about finished (95%) but not polished. And yes it does have the Soviets (thanks to the EF team for their cooperation).

And my health is quite good thanks to a healing by the Lord (in remission) but I have moved on to more important things.

I uploaded v2.0 in two parts (available in downloads) awaiting approval by the site. You need both parts and follow the instructions. The old shortcut will work.

Thanks and God Bless

You need to create your own shortcut - we don't/didn't have anyone on the team who could create an auto-installer that creates the shortcut for you.

However, the instructions for creating that shortcut are available - including the readme

Once we get this refined, we will add the ostheer next. We like to pride ourselves in accuracy with the divisions used, and quite frankly the Soviets wouldn't have battled the german divisions added on the Eastern Front. So, for accuracy, we will have to add an Ostheer with more "appropriate" divisions and equipment used

cenny is quite correct. I looked at the WWII era squad sizes for all before creating them, and also had to keep balance in mind as well. In v2.0 the squad sizes do vary a little more than in 1.7 due to additions of smaller recon type squads, but generally all have about 10 which was average for that time given all the factions involved.

here are the instructions for a new shortcut from the readme...

6) Right click on your CoH Shortcut, and choose "create shortcut"
7) Right click on the new shortcut and select "properties" - set the target line to read as the following:
"C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev -mod EuropeanTheater1944
8) Rename the new shortcut whatever you'd like
9) Click on "Change Icon" inside properties, and "browse" to find the icon included in the mod folder - choose it
10) Then you're good to go!!

There is no French Candian Infantry (at least I don't think - there are Canadian infantry both in AB and II Canadian Corps - not sure if any had a primarily French Canadian Infantry, TBH). There is the French 2nd armored division, and Free French SAS. And the 1st Polish Arnored division plays a major role

We have no choice but to use the size of Relic's stuff as the base, ESPECIALLY when it comes to anything with an open turret and the crew has to be seen. All of Relic's models are off that have a crew inside (Marder, Geschutz, etc...) compared to tanks. But the soldiers and crew are what they are - we can't change their size.

But as for the crew being too small (other than the fact they can't be changed in size), they were quite crammed in the SU-76 which is reflected in the model

Actually, when you think about it - if you assume the "people" in the CoH engine are the "constant" and correct, the SPA's and open turret SPG's are actually the right size and the tanks too small :)

Either way, with open turret models, we have to deal with what we have to deal with. We have no choice as the CoH is the engine and CoH map sizes/model sizes/etc... are the "standard" we have to work with.

There are (best guess) about 5000 lines of custom text for the mod - translating would be an ENORMOUS undertaking to say the least.

I have also heard a lot about release dates. I won't announce a release date, but I will say this...

It won't be any sooner then 2 months, and I don't see it being any later than the end of 2011. We have "target dates" in a way but I have no idea if they can be realized.

There are some things within our control, and others that we have yet to figure out how we are going to do them or handle them. It is those unknowns that make a release "estimate" unpredictable - basically there are several things that "need" to be done before a Beta release to maintain the quality the mod has always had (historical accuracy, skin/texture accuracy, overall attention to detail. etc...) that I still don't know who would do them or most certainly when they would be done.

Well you are all correct to a degree :)

The SU-76M was the 2nd most produced Soviet armoured vehicle produced during the war (2nd only to the T-34) and was produced until late '45 so it was still around when the big boys rolled out, but started in '43.

It was used most often in tank destroyer roles, but is "officially" an assault gun (like the StuG). The SU status (Samokhodnaya Ustanovka)was kind of a cross between assault guns and self propelled guns. The su-85 and isu-122 were used more in the TD role, whereas the SU-122 was purely used as support arty.

The SU-76M used various types of ammo, including AP and HE, and the elevation level of the ZiS-3sh (which had similar penetration to the t-34's F-34 76mm gun - which was most certainly less than US and CW 76mm guns - more similar to the their 75mm guns penetration wise) made it useful for indirect fire though weak in that role. And it's open turret made it ideal for infantry support.

So it was quite universal but were classified as tank destroyers within self-propelled artillery regiments

I'm always fearful giving too much advice with the steam version as I don't have nor have I ever used steam. It could be the shortcut, but more than likely the game wouldn't start at all if that was the problem. It could be where you installed it or if you changed it at all, because it is clearly being asked to look places that aren't where it thinks they should be

Honestly when it's that bad it's hard to say other than it's something major and unique to your situation (there have been almost 40,000 downloads and I can count on one hand how may time I have heard of something like this :( )

Hmm - well obviously that is a major issue and a sign tthat something went horribly wrong in installation. In essence, Fatal AI erros are caused when the AI code is told to look for something that isn't as it says it is or where it says it should be - could be something as simple as a comma missing (there are about 30 different files I can thing of off the top of my head that if I opened then and typed a random letter somewhere in the middle of any one of them, it would cause the Fatal AI crash every game in the very beginning 100% of the time). Blue boxes are there when it's told to look somewhere for e texture/model and the info isn't there, and purple boxes basically the same but slightly different - and you're getting both :( You may have to try try a re-install. You could have 99% of the mod installed and in the right spots and that other 1% could easily casue what you are saying.

It was fairly common by our time frame, and it was normally mounted on wheels but there were versions on tripods. And TBH, we needed a mobile HMG for the soviets and there is no one who can properly animate a wheeled carriage version to be mobile

The short version is there is a lot of stuff on the field that use different skins/models. The slightly longer version - in our main forum I asked a while back if people would be willing to give up performance for more and better "stuff". Answers were 100% yes. So to have a mod that is this extensive, with this many models and this many skins and units, plus no pop cap so more units on the field at once - it stresses the game engine and your RAM and graphics card

Where are you looking? And do you have the Steam version?

If you are using the auto-installer, the files should be in your main CoH folder in a folder called EuropeanTheater1944 (plus the module files also with that name)
