The .CAR files dont allow to muliple mesh groups, everything is included. This screenshot was taken before Rexhunter's newest. CAR editor came out which had polygon flags that could make the alpha teeth polygons two sided. This capability is now available.

This is as dense as I can make it, objects will not show if I add anymore. Gameplay is also to be considered, the dense vegetation can make a frustrating experience since tracking dinosaurs will be difficult as well as trying to defend one's self from a charging and fast carnivore. This is just a placeholder for now.

The maps will have alot of animated Mesozoic flora like in the portable versions of Carnivores.

Im working as much as I can, I have two placeholder dinosaurs (Trex, Giganotosaurus) complete for the beta so far. Im working on the Carnotaurus skin then going to rig it and animate it then start on the Deinonychus(UV map) then Spinosaurus. I have great progress on those dinosaurs so far.

Im a full time student and I work so I will do my best to have a beta by the end of April or atleast 4-6 dinosaurs(+sounds) that you can hunt with a map in progress and new menus as well as menu music.

There are no source code edits so far, after base rigging after model creation for all dinosaurs, new features will be added so expect more from the placeholders. There may be a new patch by then that allows 1024px textures (in contrast to the current 256x textures with low color depth.)

After the beta I will add on updates so that watchers may get updated content on a weekly basis because the final product will take some time to complete.

This mod will be more than a hunting game, it will have a back story/background. I intend for landmarks that tell a story as well as items that can be collected that fill the player in on VenariTek's true intentions in their operations on the dinosaur planet. These will be last in the production of Primal Fear. Once I complete a significant amount of placeholder dinosaur .CAR files then I will release a beta for my watchers to play.

It will be some time before the first release of the beta, which will be nothing more than just new HD models for huntables and some ambients. Maybe some weapons too.

I aim to have a first release by March. Dont count on it though.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am aware of that issue, one of our forum members suggested that we include Deltadromeus, I will have to modify the source to add it. Carnotaurus will be over 24ft and Trex will be aroun 13m. Giganotosaurus will take the place of an allosaur. There is one type of dinosaur in the huntables list, Deltadromeus is a ceratosaur rom my understanding and makes a great medium-large unique carnivore with a ferocious appearance.

As for Spinosaurus I have made many simulation of various sizes and the most realistic I have found it to be was 49-52ft long and fairly slender. While a JP spinosaurus would fit very well in Carnivores, it will not appear that way in my mod.

I will modify the AI to be the appropriate speeds pertaining to the dinosaurs and every dinosaur, including herbivores will be fatal but not as agressive as the carnivores.

As for the other comment, I will make more lush forests. One thing to note is that I will use Mesozoic flora as advised by one of my fellow mod developers : P.rex (check out his mod its Carnivores:Triassic it has great design)

I am managing time the best I can and directing volunteering members of Carnivores Saga. The first phase of production will be the model assets at which I started about a month ago. I have to create all the weapons and rest of the dinosaurs. I will release a beta when the master programmer releases his next patch for both his editors and software patch (no programs are available to assign sounds for high poly models atm).

I will post my progress of updated content around every 1-4 days. I may estimate that I will have a beta release in about 2 months. So I suspect that the first download will be September or October. We are in the process of making our first map. I devised a model called "Carnosaur Base" which was a basal carnosaur model, I used this to create all of the carnosaurs in the demonstration pictures. I have one more to make from that, a feathered Dienonychus. Then I will start on Stegosaurus and use its model (which is similar to sauropods and better than starting from scratch) to make Melanorosaurus(prosauropod)Then two separate models for Chasmosaurus and Parasaurolophus. This strategy will speed up the process. I will create the Beretta 92/DB shotgun/KBAR knife in a time span. Other weapons will take some time.
