i'm not saying it isn't wrong i'm saying legally there isn't anything you can do because in the eyes of the court you have no legal right to material that is so closely related to the stargate franchise, it doesn't matter if that ship wasn't in stargate or is named something else if you are giving the impression that it is stargate material then legally it is stargate material and the stargate franchise owns the rights to it(if any of these stargate mods made any one of the people working on it money or made the company owning stargate look bad they could/might sue that person or persons for every dime they made/had and would very likely win) just look at all the stargate games(attempted games)that the companies have been sued for property rights and either went bankrupt from it or were court ordered to cease production and destroy everything they made. its not what's right or who made it, its who the judge thinks own the material/idea and what the law will allow you to get from the person stealing the material/idea

with that said, everyone should do there own work and I'm sure you both do great work. best of luck for both mods

to both (SGMG)MCKAY and NicolasRush, not to intrude or start anything but technically neither of you can claim intellectual property rights on your mods because they are based on The Stargate Franchise. which neither of you own so you have no property rights on any material that a court deems Stargate material or related to Stargate material but even if you did own the Stargate Franchise you can only go after the other person if they make money on it or defame your company/Franchise(i known i have been sued for intellectual property rights twice and i won both times) so live and let live

well yes but that is not a UN law(the UN has "grand domain over DMZ's " aka control over all neutral zones including space so any "laws" have to be made by them) and as you said treaties with the ussr don't really count any more and really when did they ever

currently there are no UN laws preventing weapons in space but as all neutral zones if any country puts weapons in space with the intention of use against any other country it must be done with permission of the UN or they are(basically)declaring war on the UN....with that said there is nuclear warheads(not armed and the UN has the arming codes)in space but it is for a UN joint space project to attach a shuttle to an asteroid in 2030 or 2031 the warheads i guess are plan b....but there is no way to know for sure yet if it is going to hit the earth(too many variables) or if any of the plans would actually work

sarcasticsamurai 1st plasma is just heated air that is ionized 2nd its not "bubble" its is a surface charging....3rd it is an em shield not plasma weaponry (i never said we use any weaponry we deal in research for perm. orbit not weapons) due some more research before you say im lying about the research i have been doing for almost 6years, with that said i dont mind if people think im lying it just means they dont have the knowledge to realize that 3rd grade science would show you that it is more then possible our planet has the same em field around(made nearly the same way)....research before you criticize

sure doriantom, in fact anyone who wants to know more just pm, obviously there are some things i cant say due to contracts and of course i cant talk about the military side of the project, or what our specific process for field generation is....we are not the only ones doing this research and funding is tight for this kind of research due to the people controlling the funds having a lack of imagination and i cant tell you how many times i have heard "yeah, sure, treky beam me up"....sometimes i wonder how private companies who deal with technology for space can be so ignorant to the possibilities of science...ok well enough of my rant, sometimes the best idea's for science can come from scifi movies and tv shows(and vice a versa)

i was leading a private research team funded by both the military and industrial contracts, i started into this kind of research when i was active in the marine corps with r&d and when i became inactive through some friends i started a joint research team with some brilliant guys i had been working with and some new guys i had read some great papers from, currently the military side of the project is on hold because i recently moved and im in charge of that area of r&d, but my good friend is leading the civilian aspect till i come back

shields in all scifi shows are based off the idea of creating a plasma coating and charging it with high voltage, scifi shows just thought what if we could extend the field to beyond the surface of the ship and make it block physical matter...in reality we can create a(destiny style)shield that is on the surface or nearly on the surface of the ship or satellite but as of right now we can not block physical matter we can only block matter that operates in radiation and unstable or exotic particles

all they need to do is to charge there hull with plasma and charge it with high voltage then the hull becomes an em field and blocks 100% radiation, that is what i was saying in my previous posts

with destiny being far more advance then anything we have i wouldn't doubt that with enough power they could(even without shields)park inside the sun's chromosphere without building heat or lasting damage

you dont need shields to with stand the sun, the sun is hot but its radiation and heat is transfered on high and low frequency waves any metal charged with plasma with a high energy em field can block 100% of the radiation and most of the heat if not all....im currently working on designing and engineering permanent satellites for military and industrial applications and we are currently working on satellites that completely block all forms of known radiation...we have already tested them at 10times the normal discharge of radation given off by the sun during a solar storm...we are even preparing a test satellite for nasa to test during the next solar storm in 2012
