Half-Life2 not where it's said to be?

(meant to be a joke, it's not important enough to really be complaining.)

As we all fondly remember our hours playing HL2, we see no evidence of it being located in a remotely US city because the architecture, and never contested that it was outside Eastern Europe because VALVe says so, right? I think we all might be wrong, as most (West Coast) US residents know there is a decently dangerous gang known as SUR 13, or to those who are a bit behind, they also go by the Mexican Mafia, La eMe (which means "The M" in Spanish, chosen because "M" is the thirteenth letter of the alphabet) and is considered the oldest and most dangerous prison gang in America. (The 13 comes from it having only thirteen members when it started in the late 50's in Tracy, California by incarcerated Chicano gang members.)

After force feeding you all this information, you must think I've gone completely mad and obsessed with Latin American gangs, right? Not exactly. As seen in my screenshot below, there is a faded SUR 1(too faded to count as a 3, looks similar to a 7 also). Which I find extremely curious, since the SUR 13 is solely in California, New Mexico, Arizona, and finally Texas, not Eastern Europe. This leaves me asking, why.

  • Why is the Mexican Mafia in Eastern Europe?
  • Why, if it's a factual error, did VALVe choose the SUR 13, they live in freakin' Washington state!?!?!
  • And finally, Why am I ranting over a stupid tag?
Disbelieve my findings, refer to the picture below.

Sur13

Mhm, what now fool! A gang tag from West Coast United States in in Ravenholm!

Please, don't complain about how stupid this finding is, I discovered a way to topple VALVe's tyrannical hold over the gaming community with a factual error! (Just kidding, I love VALVe, they started with a modified Quake engine and turned it into the most influential game basically ever.)

If you have read "Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar" they clearly state that they did base most of the environments off of Eastern Europe but they took pictures of more of the major cities in America. This does count the states you mentioned above. They did say that not all of the scenes were set correctly as to what you see here, they did place items that did not go together in terms of what region it came from.

I suggest you read through some of Valve's work before over-speculating on some of it.

you seem to flame everyone that does anything that you dislike, even a little bit.

it was meant to be funny, and not to be taken seriously.

why'd you have to harsh my mellow.

What? No, I did not "flame" you. If I were "flaming" you, I would have been a little bit more harsh with my post and added some vulgar words to it. Though I don't ever flame. I didn't flame that concept weapon of yours because I knew it was going to get somewhere. If anything I am showing my disapproval and support it by adding points to it. Also why you would bring this "flaming" I do is just pathetic of you. My so-called "flaming" is besides the point of my corrections to your "funny" blog.

Also I didn't know this wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. I mean you put some much detail, effort and time into it that I'd think anyone who reads this would take it seriously. To make it simple, "icemaz" did then surely I and anyone else would too. You did treated this finding pretty seriously.

Now, I hope you don't have an argument to that since you are in the wrong for this all thing. Also I lol'd at the "why'd you have to harsh my mellow".

oh, sorry, i'll edit it to say "joke blog or something at the top" but yeah, i like joking by saying non-serious things in joking manners, besides, i was hoping people would like the look of semi-neatness i did.

but thank you for saying that my weapon was going to go somewhere, if i ever figure out XSI i might model it for better reference.

Well, it's probably just Valve adding some realistic graffiti to the game, and you also have to remember that everyone was relocated when the combine came, so there's a chance that some of the gang members made it over to city 17 and Ravenholm, or maybe there's some SUR 13 wannabe's in City 17
