Robert began dissecting music before he started creating it. At age twelve, he taught himself to use MIDI sequencers and began opening MIDI files to understand how the pieces of the songs fit together. Thus began a lifelong obsession with creating unique, memorable musical wholes from diverse and unexpected pieces.

Since that time, he has taught himself to play guitar, bass, drums and percussion, and piano/keys; how to record, produce, mix, and master music at home; and how to write and arrange music that is at once unconventional and catchy, flashy and understated, novel and familiar.

Robert is lucky to have a life that has already been rich with musical opportunities. He has been commissioned to write original music for theatre and musicals, has played drums and bass in choir and musical pits, has performed with jazz ensembles as a bassist, has transcribed and arranged sheet music for clients, and has even organized open mics for friends and neighbors.
