I love that they have the aperture long fall boots. A clever connection to the portal games.

I love what you're doing with this mod. But I must be perfectly honest about your epic man sounds video... they sound more like they are just completely confused about what's going on.

When you uninstalled did you make sure to go into \steam\steamapps\common\doom 3 and delete anything that was left over?

If you had any other mods or custom stuff installed then they will still be there and could cause issues.

If not then try to give a bit more detailed information on the problems but also the other parts of your system besides your graphics card.

SteveRB0 Jul 3 2011, 10:21pm says:

It seems when I run ROE from steam I have to specify +set fs_game_base d3xp in addition to the mod parameter in the launch options. I assumed that the first part would redundant but I guess not.

I was also trying to run ROE first then use the mods menu to load sikkmod for ROE (which worked fine for base doom 3).

Anyway setting the launch parameters in steam to +set fs_game_base d3xp +set fs_game sikkmodd3xp seems to have fixed it.

Whenever I try to launch the ROE version of the mod my game will crash while it starts up. It will get to the point where it says "Initializing Menus..." then it will crash to desktop.

The doom 3 version works fine though.

Also I'm running the steam versions of the games.

Well I guess I could say I also have a boner for this mod but that would probably be inappropriate.

I think if you made the heads a bit smaller, or the bodies bigger (whichever is easier), they would look much better... possibly.

I think it's the heads, but something for sure seems out of proportion.

Normally I like to encourage people to make mods, but you should quit while your ahead. Or rather, quit before you get any further behind. You've done nothing but claim other peoples work as your own.

Those pirate ships aren't drawn and they aren't yours. Those are the pirate ships from Sins of a Solar Empire and those are just screen shots of them in game. You can even see the aliasing if you look closely.

If you meant that you are using them as a base then you should say that specifically because the info next to the picture makes it seem like you are taking all credit for them.

The drawing of the landing area, although impressive, is a barely altered version of the standard New London planet scene.

Most mods really only work on one version of the game, so chances are this one will only work on 1.005.
And your best bet for a successful game is to just start over and not use any saved games from before you installed the mod.

SteveRB0 Jul 29 2009, 11:36pm says:

While I like the idea of recreating such a classic, I think people making these mods should put their own touch on the levels. Keep the basic layout but vastly expand upon the architecture, add new areas to the maps, make them different yet recognizable.

A few years ago an episode replacement for the first episode of doom was released and they did the stuff I mentioned above with just the doom engine. Here with half life, the engine can do even more and you should take advantage of that.

heres a link to that episode replacement, just to give you a specific idea of what I'm talking about.
