you need downgrade patch then it work because its the version 2 und this version isnt mod able

i am too a modeler and you can make a "house" in google sketchup and than you save this into sketchup 5 and open it with sketchup 5 and then you import this to 3ds and open it with 3ds max

udk engine is better as the kit engine
