I believe they still want Steam distribution, not sure about XBox Live.
They are now building their own engine (or perhaps built, they haven't exactly said quite yet) which interfaces nicely with many Source SDK Tools, though they've built many of their own to go with it.
They are planning on making NS2 retail, so it will not be free. However, I personally will pay to play if they deliver what they promise. =]
They've been working on implementing controller support according to the Twitter Feed, so I think console support is going to be a core design choice. Not simply an odd port. This gets really weird when you have to control the Commander's interface with a controller.
Out of Curiosity, when is the mod supposed to be released on Steam? I seem to recall PVK had gotten permission to get loaded on Steamworks.
It's 1pm here in US West Coast, which is the timezone Valve HQ is located, where's the mod?
The name is unknown I think since the original name they wanted is already in use.
It is an engine of their own design.
Alright! The Moddb page got updated!
Trust me when I say we should keep the moddb people in the loop.
Interesting mechanics and premise. Plus it looks nice. I hope it isn't just all particles and that there are strong fighting dynamics under all that white stuff. It's hard to tell from the trailer at times what the exact moves really are, though I definitely see a lot of variety and fluidity which is a major plus in my book.
I'm curious, though, will we have access to different styles for each character? For example, a more german broadsword approach versus a japanese kendo style or reversed griped stance. The last style would involve quite a bit more footwork since it relies on fast and tight motions.
Good to hear it then. I'm even more excited about the release. =]
I am eagerly awaiting the Steam release.
release faster! I demand to get the changes I've been hearing about.
that was... descriptive.
It's just that some of the features I've seen seem very similar. 3 Major classes (Scout, Assault, Support), IFF info, cloaking, thermals, etc. But then again, that just might be my own naivitivity of the features in NT.
I believe there is no cyberworld in NT, which is a definite distinction.
Out of curiosity, what are you doing to be distinct from Dystopia?
Other than that, I have really high hopes for this mod. It's looking really good.
