Gonna have to figure out a better way for clouds to distinguish themselves, though. Right now they kinda blend in too easily.

Also, finals in university have probably eaten much of their time in the last few weeks. I commend them for giving info every week, but perhaps you may want to take a break on the updates to help provide more meaty updates each time.

hm... I always had issues when I first tried Freelancer mods to access the newer stuff. Especially when they added new storyline and crazy secret ways to access the shiny newer systems. Not to mention the AI would be.... interesting. I guess I should try this out since it's been doing so well.

All it means is that the new maps will have backwards compatibility. it's like saying Windows XP isn't all that different form Windows 95 because you can run Windows 95 stuff on Windows XP.
As much as my gut feeling was of disappointment, I'm actually not too mad.
Partially I blame my inability to get online and have decent L4D games, so I kinda feel rushed to get my money's worth out of it. Also, I agree that many people have a gut feeling of annoyance that Valve promised some things and it appeared they weren't delivered. Granted, in the business world, it's called hype and marketing and completely fair game. That being said, many long time fans have come to expect more from Valve, and this is a kind of realization that Valve isn't the benevolent game company in the sky showering love and free content to everyone.
I agree that perhaps we're getting too worked up over nothing. Gampelay vids and tech demos pale compared to real-life experience. Even game reviews are in some ways worthless. Most game review groups don't really have time to digest a game and check out its staying power. So, even though it doesn't look like much, I'll reserve judgement until I see it in action. Plus, Amazon has messed up before and will again.
All in all, I'm simply not going to pre-order and will wait for the release to see if it's worth my money.

Flayra and the NS2 team are trying to work with Valve to make sure you can connect the pre-order copy with the Steam copy.
However, no promises.
Null, Flayra is a NS2 dev. If he can swing a connection between pre-orders and Steam, he will.
man, that would be really lame if they don't link.
Oh well. Count me in, even if it does get miffed by Steam.
They are the original designers behind NS1. So, they're not new. But still, some seriously pro looking stuff.
