I love the idea of the new colour scheme. Looks like the Scourge will be more ghost-based than corpse-based (well, maybe not, but that's what it looks like at first impression anyway). Really kick-*** concept artwork here!
Well I really like all of this - if you manage to get the realism right, the immersion will be very strong if you have all these coded in. I'll be watching your mod closely! Looks very promising :)

And also what other novelty will you bring to the game, like in the context of combat, or magic, or pc-to-npc interaction? (I'm just being curious there ^^)
A flying (well, it can't move, but it will be in the air and targetable by weapons that can attack air) defensive structure that is much more resistant than the Photon Cannon. It's essentially more powerful and more expensive too. The aim here is to make turtling a viable tactic and not something only pros can pull.

As StarCraft II is making its way through beta I've had some interesting new ideas that will require new models to work with, so expect some novel stuff in the mod for each race! :)
You seem to be among the minority that want completely new models everywhere. Reskins work as long as they're original, and I disagree with your opinion that it's 'un-epic'

Yes, there are plans to implement completely new models, like the Saga Stormbell (previous image).
It is entirely possible to create new units with an existing model. It's too bad you think that this isn't any better than the sprite-splicing of certain sc1 mods, but the art team of MesoCosmos already has an existing direction for the Planessir and I daresay a lot of the existing models have great potential to be used differently. I'm sure you will not even recognise StarCraft II after MesoCosmos will be completed because unit roles down to appearance and behaviour will have changed so drastically that other than the apparent form, nothing else will remind you of the StarCraft II counterpart.
I guess this should do it. Only additional information that would really help would be a screenshot, but heh, I think there's a lot of suggestions going on already. Check that guy's KamuiK's suggestions - they're awesome, not only beautiful names, but also culturally correct too.
The amount of information on the units are too limited to propose specific names. Sure, we can get creative, but most of the suggestions would just be irrelevant. For example, naming a person could call Unit 1 (the psychic anti-tank infantry unit) PsyGuy when it's actually a woman. That's just a frivolous name, but you get my point, lol.
I think it would help tremendously if you would add information about unit form (if it resembles anything specific like perhaps an animal [e.g. the Sickle looks like a spider] or how many mounted cannons it has), unit pilot/AI Voice gendre (example, Archer Maidens [fems, obviously xD] or Giga Fortresses [who have male voices]), locomotive method (if the tank/unit hovers or walks/moves on wheels/tracks, etc). Imo the naming conventions would then be much more accurate.
Just giving my two cents - this mod is pure awesomeness!

I don't really see the point of altering the reaver model if the actual one works for what is intended to in the mod. If it's role changes, then maybe the model will be altered. For now, it stays exactly as it is xD
But don't worry, there will be new models.
Currently these units are all high-tier all-round killers, although this cold change depending on balance.
Well we can't just have every single idea we get to be in the game. Sacrifices have to be made, unfortunately. But the big guy will most likely be available in the campaign :P
