I'll try to address these issues for the next update (which might take a while, unfortunately) but most of the more cosmetic things (like the tower birth anim playing upon exit) will remain unchanged since I'm not really sure if it can be fixed unless I do model edits, which I'm trying to avoid.
In all likelihood, I'll fix the more pressing errors and move on to another project. I have been working on this mod for too damn long as it is lol.
PS: the wall system is very simple: I merely used the pathing for the destructible brick wall doodads to make them. The fancier walls, like the bulwark and crystal lodes simply use locust versions of their corresponding models to fill in the gaps, like most of the buildings in my mod (like I said, I avoid model edits).
1.9? There isn't a patch 1.9 as far as I know. The latest is 1.26a
I STRONGLY recommend you get someone to help you out with the writing because the text in the screenshot is... not very good. Good luck with the mod :)
Well I would imagine it's because it's 2GB and a lot of people can't download that large a file without pausing and resuming. It took a few days for me to download it, for instance.
Okay, I did some research on the matter and here are a few things that could be interfering with the .exe and preventing it from running:
- Try 'Run as Administrator'. Sometimes a program won't run properly if it doesn't have the necessary privileges.
- Four Empires.exe can't locate War3.exe. This can happen if you didn't reinstall the game traditionally and copy-pasted it from, eg, a backup on another hard drive. Try putting Four Empires.exe in the same place as the War3.exe.
- A virus protection program is preventing Four Empires from running because it's detecting the process as opening another file (war3.exe) and may think it's a malicious software, therefore bypassing it. Try switching off your firewall/antivirus and run the mod to see if that fixes things. Create an except in your antivirus software if this happens to work.
I do hope one of these helps you because I don't know what else could be causing the bypass. I'll look some more into it but I can't promise anything.
Ooh this is great! I'm wondering if I could maybe use the terrain textures you've extracted from WoW to use in this mod? I wanted to make another mod but with better texture quality and maybe even doodads. I'll credit you for all the conversion work and such.

Try re-applying the patch. Have you modded your wc3 in any way? Like third party tools and such? If re-patching doesn't work you should consider a clean install.
Strange... is your Frozen Throne patched to 1.26a?
Holy **** you made this ON YOUR OWN???? If I wasn't broke I'd pre-order this/buy when it comes out on principle alone. It took me forever to mod wc3 to make a TC, so making an entire game from scratch sounds like you single-handedly broke down a mountain to me lol. You, sir, deserve an award!
I'm not actually working on the AI myself - I have someone who's helping me with it. AI is very, very hard to pull off but the AI Editor does help in this respect. However it's still tied to a very specific pattern that if you break out of can make the editor pointless: for instance, if you don't get a hero via an altar then the computer just doesn't know where his hero unit is and cannot go beyond that. There are many various details that can screw up and AI, but if you're sticking to the traditional base-building methods and unit training it shouldn't be too hard. Because my mod doesn't stick to that, I need to do some workarounds, like forcing half of the computer builders to force-switch to defense mode and constantly give them Krin (lumber) instead of making them convert it from gold like a normal human player.
This said, if you know JASS or vJASS, then AI might be easier. I, unfortunately, know neither. Yes, my mod is pretty much 95% GUI.

I'd love to help you out but I can't tunngle because I have slow internet. I tried tunngle once and I had 5 - 10 second delays on orders lol.
That is a nice initiative though. I do have my hamachi setup to work but even there I still get delays, but it's not nearly as bad. (it's like half a second delay).
There isn't any AI in the mod at the moment. I'm trying to implement it in the next version.
Is your Frozen Throne patched to 1.26a? If not, then get the full patch.
If your game is already patched then try re-applying the patch, it should work.
Well for starters your opponent should have the mod as well. I don't know if you can play via bnet, but I would advise against it in case Blizzard thinks something fishy is going and decides to ban your account or something.
LAN should be good. All players will have to run the mod so there isn't any conflict. They should all also have their game patched to v1.26a
I could always give that mechanic to the Apostates, who can freely do as they chose within a fight since they are on death row.

Well in my mind the Black Legion is extremely strict on drinking blood and any breach of that oath is liable to get one imprisoned or executed.
Arkandir (just below) suggested I add an upgrade to the Ancient Vampire, which is the only vampire that drinks blood in the Black Legion, so maybe I'll make this unit raise fledgling vampires :)
The Black Legion can also heal with Soul Crows, just in case you missed it. I might make the healing via Souls a bit more powerful if you think it needs a buff (because you're essentially spending money to heal). What upgrade do you think the Ancient Vampire should have? midsidion suggested creating fledgling vampires when they kill a unit. I'm open to suggestions! :)
The vampires regenerate hit points at night and can see further than during the day - so night time technically gives them a slight advantage.

Oh that is a neat idea, but lore-wise the vampires have renounced drinking blood. Those who do are labeled as apostates and imprisonned to be used later on, either as cannon fodder or fuel for the Broker of Souls.
I'll keep that idea in mind though :D
I have no plans on adding any new units to the Black Legion thought, or any other faction, for that matter. Did you feel like they are lacking in unit variety?
Lol, that's probably because I used the existing buildings that are already unit-production to retain that role, and the AI identifies them as such. Hero-spawning is done through abilities which could be the computer's way of trying to defend itself.
Ah yes, the disappearing race names in the drop-down menu. Need to fix that :P
For the Black Legion that may have been a typo because the builders function the same way that overlords do in starcraft, in that you're supposed to make them to get more food. If you find the Priors are filling up your base you can send them in the Prayer Cairn and they'll just load up in the building and unclutter your base.
By mushroom ring, do you mean the Summoning Circle or the Mushroom Kingdom? (If it's the later then, yeah, it can be a bit hard to notice).
All the race have siege weapons actually, but yeah they are kinda hard to get to quickly and not all of them attack trees. I'll see to it in the next update that they do.
