Looking great! Can't wait for this mod to come out of alpha!
I'm assuming the Arcane Vault is a placeholder model for the oil rig?
Holy crap that looks amazing!
This mod looks SO. FRIKKIN'. GOOD!
I assume you have a lot of models/textures still to be made, but will we be getting some screenshots of (for example) skirmish games soon?
Will u be adding features like dynamic shadows, bloom, and the other stuff the mod Nirvana has?
That poor flame tank at the end.
I wonder, will Spoxel have mod support of any kind? I'm asking mostly for things like swapping out meshes for different ones (like if someone wants to have more realistic graphics), but also for things like adding different 'ingredients' to the crafting system (like maybe a new spell type?). Yknow, mods.
Other than that, looking pretty good.
Oh so you dig with magic? Will it cost mana (so that the power at which you mine is controlled by your mana pool) or can you just improve the spell and it costs nothing?
Also will magic be a separate thing (eg all magic in Terraria is item-based) that you cast with it's own hotkeys (or something like that)?
This looks really amazing. I hope this makes it!
Btw, have you guys considered crowd funding? I know the StarCrafts mod from Carbot is getting funded on Indiegogo. Since this mod has all new assets, I imagine that would make crowdfunding viable?
Looking good! How many different biomes do you plan on having?
Ah, disabling the engine stopped the crashing. However, it would be cool to be able to have the Nirvanna graphic enhancements and have ReShade on as well. Those real-time shadows are awesome :)
The in-engine upgrades look great, but the game looks even better when I use Reshade for sharpening and filmic pass. However, every time I try to alt-tab, trying to get back in always crashes the game - regardless whether the in-engine upgrades are on or off. That doesn't happen with regular WarCraft 3.
Also night elf archers are invisible.
Amazing work. Keep it up!
Can the water base-building be optional (like you can toggle it on/off when you create a game) because I did not like that in RA3. Making amphibious units toggleable as well would be welcome too (excluding those that comes from the naval yards and/or transports)
I will be really happy if you remade Reign of Chaos in the Sc2 engine. Those campaigns were pretty darn great. Are you working on this mod alone?
Avant-propos: Mon français ecrit laisse vraiment as désiré.
[IMPORTANT: You might need Microsoft .NET Framework 4 installed in order to use this update!]
What's the update on the modified game engine? Will it be released soon?
Omg this so awesome.
AI is really difficult to make, and try as I might, I can't figure it out. Unless someone is willing to help me on this, I can't make AI work.
Someone had a similar problem, but I don't know if they actually managed to fix it. This is what I suggested they try:
- Try 'Run as Administrator'. Sometimes a program won't run properly if it doesn't have the necessary privileges.
- Four Empires.exe can't locate War3.exe. This can happen if you didn't reinstall the game traditionally and copy-pasted it from, eg, a backup on another hard drive. Try putting Four Empires.exe in the same place as the War3.exe.
- A virus protection program is preventing Four Empires from running because it's detecting the process as opening another file (war3.exe) and may think it's a malicious software, therefore bypassing it. Try switching off your firewall/antivirus and run the mod to see if that fixes things. Create an except in your antivirus software if this happens to work.
If this still doesn't work, then as a last resort you could try reinstalling and patching wc3.
:O niiiiiice. I use an ENB to get things like lense flares and improve the colours, but doing this in-engine is pretty dope b/c it doesn't affect the UI. Do you think it would be possible to have things like DoF (tilt-shift, anyone) and anamorphic lense flares? I know these don't make gameplay easy, but they could be nice for cutscenes. Turning them on and off with hotkeys would make them easy to get rid of if they interfere with gameplay.
Wonder why I hadn't seen this reply earlier ^^'
The Sylvan, I think, have to be the prettiest of all of them. I was quite liberal with the attachments, and rather happy with the end results :3 So I'm glad you like this race :D
Try placing the file in your Wc3 folder (where Frozen Throne.exe is located) and that your frozen throne is patched to 1.26a. If when you run the exe the error still pops up, try re-patching your game. Something else you can try is maybe running the mod in administrator mode. Otherwise, reinstalling Wc3 and TFT is the only thing I can think of.
Ya'll insane to make something like this in Sc2. Now, do the same thing and give it a sandbox gameplay like Terraria or Starbound but with Trine aesthetics and I will throw money at you so hard it will be cause for injury. I'm serious.
Hmm, that would explain why I couldn't find the maps. Will keep an eye out for the Extension Mod version in the future.
Thank you! I'm very happy you like it, especially the detail on the races because I have spent so much time making everything look good. You could say it was actually my focus when making the mod, and I tried to make the mechanics as familiar to vanilla wc3 but yet be different, especially with the resources. The Krin system is kinda iffy, but I'm not sure how else I can make it work.
As for Hiveworkshop, the mod is actually already there. Here's the thread Hiveworkshop.com
I also published it on wc3c but the thread didn't get any comments for a long while and I think the mods deleted it, so yeah :(
There aren't a lot of people who play Warcraft 3 anymore it seems, least of all mods like mine. I myself am actually moving over to Starcraft 2 modding where the engine just allows me to do more things, like custom UIs and a simpler way to make attachments. It has a steep learning curve, but it's so much better. You can expect a similar mod like this one in a few years if it all goes well :)
I can't promise I will finish Four Empires, but I will see if I can iron out some bugs that people have pointed out to me. AIs for the computer players are probably never going to happen because making them is just beyond me, and there doesn't seem to be anyone out there who's interested in making one. I would know, I asked lol.
Once again, thank you for that wonderful comment. It really made my day.
PS: Which race is your favourite?
Tried searching for your maps on both Arcade and Custom Maps but haven't found any. Any specific keywords I should try?
Also do you plan on making this an Extension Mod?
Heaven? or did you mean Haven?
Oh hey Kam.
I'll try to address these issues for the next update (which might take a while, unfortunately) but most of the more cosmetic things (like the tower birth anim playing upon exit) will remain unchanged since I'm not really sure if it can be fixed unless I do model edits, which I'm trying to avoid.
In all likelihood, I'll fix the more pressing errors and move on to another project. I have been working on this mod for too damn long as it is lol.
PS: the wall system is very simple: I merely used the pathing for the destructible brick wall doodads to make them. The fancier walls, like the bulwark and crystal lodes simply use locust versions of their corresponding models to fill in the gaps, like most of the buildings in my mod (like I said, I avoid model edits).
