The US government is in a unique position to take charge of new generation nuclear plants via massive subsidies to programs like LFTR. They did this back in the 1950's and 1960's, there is no reason that they could not do it today.

What the government can get out of it is party publicity which is worth its own weight in gold these days. The political party that says "hey I have a pretty darn good green energy solution for our country that is impressively safe" gets to take the cake.

On top of that there are byproducts from the fission cycle that can be used medically as well as other additions that could be implemented later that could help generate new emission free fuels. Kirk Sorensen talked about this at length multiple times, the Th-MSR idea is a winning one in my book.

Incorrect, they can be weaponized, it is harder and is PART of the reason the Thorium fuel cycle lost to Uranium, but it's not the whole picture.

As an Occupation Source Developer (the one who reworked the ballistics for all the guns) I can honestly say that active development for this mod has ceased for the time being. It is unknown if we will pick this back up or not, I am trying to take the lessons learned from this mod and apply them to ArmA III with the help of other developers. The reason for the inactivity is that we started out with 5 developers and it ended up with OccupationG and myself, once my ballistics code in was complete by OccupationG my job was finished and all I did was beta test. This is one of my proudest mods I have ever worked on & I would like to thank everyone for their time and constructive criticism.

went to your heroes unleashed website/forum and found the changelog, it would be helpful if that same info was posted here. and the new version is much more hardcore without everyone having binoculars and being able to look at the hud or map to know where the enemy or enemy fire is coming from, I like it.

Read up on it, discussed it, and spread the word, if that is considered protesting. I do NOT support PIPA or SOPA, both are a violation of the 1st Amendment in the United States in principal, the only groups that win with PIPA/SOPA are the ones with tons of money and unlimited unscrupulous lawyers who twist words to line their own pockets. I also DO NOT support piracy, I spend over 500 USD a year on games and about the same on some system upgrades or add-on content for them if its good enough.

If you want to try and censor me, you can speak to the barrels of my guns first, they speak quite loudly and get their point across REAL QUICK.

Been hard at work on these changes, lots of additions and subtractions and re-balancing done as well. Rest assured infantry and their respective "powers" will make Land and Air units re-think their approach to infantry, and infantry vs infantry will be a real good fight worth zooming in on to see. All the units will be using the most up to date camouflage in appropriate regions as well as gear, armament, and weapon customizations, all are set to REAL WORLD, that means NO Heartbeat sensors :P

I have some very exciting news, not much of it because lots are still being decided, however I have compiled a basic overhaul list and what might be in it.

US Infantry will consist of ALL 4 BRANCHES of the US Military, thats right US Army, US Airforce, US Navy and the US Marines, each realistically portrays their roles. Same is said for the Russian's and this was not an easy task getting the info.

Have slightly discussed re-vamping infantry combat with Blahdy and RepCommando, also talk of AM Sniper offensive ability to use APIT .50BMG rounds for US and equivalent for RU. APIT .50BMG would only be useful with lightly armored vehicles and would not be very effective at killing off an actual vehicle but killing crew inside, details of this have not really been worked out so all of this is completely up for "grabs". Rest assured that I know weapon ballistics, if you want assurance look at my profile, I am a mod Dev for Occupation CS which uses the most realistic ballistics for firearms in a game period. I will be bringing that kind of realism and fun to the infantry realm in WIC MW mod, and I promise to help make infantry combat fun and worthwhile.

sadly I have to agree with DICE on this one, no mod tools at release of for the next 2 years, let the Dev's fix the problems we know and expect to be there as is in all games that are released. However by 2013-2014 they should release them then, as the community may be dying down and PC's will be able to use all available features that would make mod tools appropriate then.

Order Structure:
1. Smooth Initial Release
2. Support and Bug patching (ASAP & until game is not supported)
3. Exclusive and General DLC (1-2 years post release)
4. Mod Tools (2-3 years post release)

Yes, even a critical or minor wound will kill you over time, its just how fast do your die or lose responsiveness. remember that even a minor wound makes you less effective than a non wounded enemy. 90% of the time in OCCS you will be fighting an uphill battle.

good catch on wording, be assured that bullets in flight through air will not fragment or deform unless acted on by an additional force (water,metal ect..). All this work has been TEDIOUSLY RESEARCHED and compiled by the Dev Team and if you are familiar with our work, you know what to expect.

Games like Battlefield 3 I will never pirate simply because of the ACCURATE media report that gives me enough info to know if I think the game is worth it. But games like Minecraft I hear about I'm not sure if im going to like and there is no refund, so I "try" before I buy, I do realize that there is a FREE version however all features are not encompassed and therefore does not accurately represent the game. Once I have decided to buy the game I immediately & securely erase all data (32 passes of 10101010) of the pirated copy and play from there. If games allowed a FULL TIMED (2 hours) VERSION of the game for me to decide they would have a less pirate problem than currently present. I do NOT support true pirating where you will never buy a game again, I say if you like it buy it, if not erase it and forget it. Quality work is worth supporting and paying for as if it SELLS well there will likely be a second one coming.

Interesting, I would capture and berth or sell, I like my Heavy Super Frigate just fine, good handling & speed with 52 guns using 32lb Carronades. Needless to say with all the upgrades the USS Spartan has, with tactics and a bit of luck I can take on that Ship Of The Line, cut that ships rigging out and shes dead meat. pretty ship though.

OK here is the situation....

Infinity Ward "screwed the pooch" when they told us PC gamers in a sense to "F**K OFF" thanks for your money on MW1 but leave game elements to the "PROFESSIONALS". All Activision does is come in 1 - 1.5 years later and give us something to hold out over until the next "GREAT RELEASE", however.... MW1 allowed us to shoot through walls and customize our guns which for a popular FPS series was and still is A TOTAL WIN, plus THE COMMUNITY HAD A SAY IN ITS DESIGN!!!!

Battlefield 3....

There WILL be a closed BETA, however I have been looking at Battlefield PLAY4FREE and I have noticed some game design changes that look SIMILAR too that the Devs are trying with BF3....interesting... albeit not the same engine but the mechanics are there. BFP4F is being built by COMMUNITY SUPPORT, I believe that BFP4F is really an "OPEN ALPHA" test for BF3 and the lessons and opinions of the "testers" will be carried over into BF3 (mind you BFP4F is a separate game from BF3 & BF2). If this truly is the case then expect Battlefield 3 to OWN THE FPS GENRE AND FPS COMPETITIONS FOR 1-2 YEARS (if done correctly, and there are sings showing with a few discrepancies that BF3 will be a hit). What makes me think this??? Well 3 of the 3 maps on BFP4F are in the BACK TO KARKAND EXPANSION (Sharqi, Oman, & everyone's hated favorite Karkand), also BFP4F CLOSED BETA started right around BF3's OFFICIAL RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT, also are the key aspects of gameplay being different from BF2 and BFBC2 but a BLEND which is what the Dev's are aiming for, COINCIDENCE I DON'T THINK SO.

UNLIKE COD's MOD TOOLS, THIS IS MORE THAN WELCOME!!! The CryEngine 3 will make mods like OccupationCS and really give us something to work with, maybe now we can add in realistic weapon customization and DX11 support. This should be what all games need to release. If UBISOFT released an SDK for FarCry 2 the modding community would have made tons of mods for it and it would still be played and sold. Mods and Mod Tools make games make more money, and make the PC community happy, MOD TOOLS FTW!!!

The OFFICIAL word on MOD tools for BF3 is NOT AT RELEASE, expect mod tools for BF3 1-2 years after release, the quote "its too complex" means that its complex that they cant fit it into the release schedule, there are even mod tools coming out for Farcry 2 (albeit not from Ubisoft), besides it took BF2 at least 3 years before people really started needing mods for it. If DICE can give players a new and REVISITING experience on BF3 you should be good for 1-2 years, if this is the case and I truly believe it is DICE is making a smart move.

seriously I put a lot of work into at as no other game has ever attempted to do what we are doing, I feel like calling you a noob as well however I'm not much for disrespecting my community as you seem to be with developers. You don't like it, go elsewhere or make your own, its not easy, so just chill. All I did was give correct and accurate information so that when people ask what happened to DU rounds they know why they disappeared and were replaced with other rounds.

look everywhere on the internet to see if you cna find any military that uses Depleted Uranium BULLETS as in Pistols, Shotguns, Rifles, Machineguns (man portable), ect... You will not find it at all as the materials and cost expenses would be astronomical as well as the negative press from firing DU bullets at (SOFT TARGETS) CAN be considered a nuclear attack. Now you heavy AP or API-T bullets that are fired use LEAD, STEEL and TUNGSTEN for penetration. While not as dense they emit "normal" amounts of radiation (everything has some amount of natural radiation nothing is 0) so that they are considered more "humane". Tungsten is more than capable of penetrating almost any body armor give the right ballistic co-efficient and bonding. There is a reason why I was given the task of editing the ballistics and compiling the research. Do not fret however plenty of new and deadly bullets are coming soon to Occupation Source, while they were slated for introduction in Occupation Source 3.0 we had to fix the AI and Critical Bugs before adding in new content for this I apologize. rest assured that now we have fixed the problems get ready for a whole new kind of pain!

Ok for all those interested in Depleted Uranium Bullets.... THIS IS UNREALISTIC as actual Depleted Uranium is STILL RADIOACTIVE as the external radiation dose from DU is about 60% of that from the same mass of natural uranium. while CONSIDERABLY LESS than nuclear weapons grade Uranium IT IS STILL RADIOACTIVE. There is NO ARMY IN THE WORLD that fields DU bullets, however DU Anti-Aircraft bullets 20-40mm, SABOT TANK Rounds, and the famous GAU/8 30mm Cannon on the A-10 use DU ammo. When tank and avionics crews clean the barrels and systems the fire/house DU munitions they have to wear HAZMAT lead lined suits, even handling DU munitions as a Tank Loader they wear Lead Lined gloves to prevent long-term side effects of radiation exposure.

Not entirely true, if their Database Servers are in the USA they are governed by US Law, while net neutrality is still in effect, the rights of any American citizen are to be upheld while in American Jurisdiction, therefore if this mod had Americans on the team and the Mod was hosted on an American Server, their Constitutional Rights have just been violated.

I am working on two VERY violent war type games with a realistic basis. While I know and understand that REAL VIOLENCE sucks and wrecks havoc on a persons mind (I'm military, been there done that), I also understand that "killing" your friends and enemies on a virtual battlefield is immensely entertaining. The human race is founded on the principle of VIOLENCE, don't believe me??? Examples... Demolition work on buildings people will stand and wait for the detonation to begin so that they can see a building blow up, Ancient Rome had the Colosseum where they enacted with REAL PHYSICAL VIOLENCE Navy and Army battles and Rome was the most CULTURED civilization at that time. Even ancient China and Japan had wrestling and armed combat matches that spectators watched for entertainment. Ever watch the show COPS, would you still watch it if all they showed was the office where paperwork is applied? North American School Shooter is a very poor idea of a mod/game however in the USA we have CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS and one of them is FREEDOM OF SPEECH, which with modern subclauses allows us to make content at will as long as it does not violate anyone's freedoms, NASS:2012 did NOT violate anyone's freedoms, therefore this action by MODDB is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, and needs to be redacted. I do not support the mod in its idea but I do support constitutional rights, why not ban the 2 mods that I am working on, we certainly are violent...Occupation Source is a FPS with REAL BALLISTICS, I personally went out and went through thousands of real world bullets to bring in the nastiest hardest hitting bullets into a mod that features body cavity damages and very fast violent combat.That's it for my 2 cents worth, take it for what it is (a grain of salt). See You On The Battlefield
