Vader111, there was a recent re-release of Blue Planet 2 with optimized ships. You should probably check that out, especially since Blue Planet is a greatly superior mod to Dawn of Sol.
Also, there's no way fleets in this mod should be a large as fleets in stock Sins (if fleets have 25 Deimos corvettes and 40 Fenris and Leviathan cruisers in them something is wrong), so you can get away with higher poly counts than if you were using standard Sins-sized fleets.

No offense, but in BSG there are NO shields, as well as NO turbolasers or ion cannons. All ships have mass driver-type weaponry.
Sorry, but the other mod has shielded battlestars and baseships equipped with lasers, and that just really ****** me off because that just isn't right.

Well, it's definitely different from vanilla Nexus. Gameplay was good, its just the story was annoying, especially with the mechanoids, Angel, and she being the only one who can kill them. It was just weird, as in Matrix weird.
Hell, my favorite Nexus mod is the New Universe mod, with no mechanoids AT ALL! Great story, good mission design and although it isn't as happy-ending as Nexus, it is a much more realistic and better written story IMO.

I also think SotP has a bigger team. And Sins is really, really, easy to mod. There's that too. However, those aren't for Homeworld 2, which is the only space RTS that doesn't completely suck that allows full 3-D tactical movement. So it gets me wanting to play right there, because in Homeworld 2 too many ships have massive fire arcs and sensor ranges so sneaking up on someone doesn't end very well. Here, well a MAC can't fire at you unless it is pointed right at you, so firing at someone's rear end will be a very useful tactic. Or even Longsword scouts so you can fire at their soft underbelly from beyond their sensor range.
Love the Holy Hand Grenade, one of my favorite Worms weapons. Try and make the "Halleluja" in the countdown a little less annoying. Sounds like the Chipmunks on helium as it is now. BTW, how big a radius will it have in-game? Will it have an explosion the size of a house, like it does in Worms?
Oh, and bring in the Banana Bombs from Worms as cluster grenades. I know this isn't a Worms mod, its just Worms has some of the most WTF weapons in it. You can't get much more WTF than a watermelon grenade, although exploding cluster banana-nades are up there.
I'm not trying to insult you guys at all. Just random thinking that shouldn't have even been thought of, and I tend to not think about thinking before I say stuff.

And I have heard that Homeworld 2 is hard to mod for, so that part actually was serious. If a game is hard to mod for, that will slow a team down. Considerably. No offense to you at all, and I will play this when it comes out, same as the Sins mod. Its just I really want ANY Halo in space mod right about now, when we have them in development for HW2, EaW, and Sins. The UNSC and Covenant are taunting me with beautiful ship models and gorgeous explosions. And MAC cannons. Can't leave out giant pieces of metal flying very fast.
So who will have a playable Halo in space mod first. You, or the guys doing Sins of the Prophets for Sins of a Solar Empire? Either HW2 is a hard game to mod for, or you guys just don't work very fast.

Yes, bots. Its kinda hard to have that Lord of the Rings epic battle feeling with only a few people fighting. Like you guys said, Helm's Deep won't be fun to siege with only 5 Uruk-hai. And I would do Goblin archers. Staying back and shooting arrows is a Goblin thing.
Yeah, AOC takes way too long to attack. Realistic, yes. Fun, no. I certainly hope this mod doesn't do that. I should warn these guys though, Elven Archers were nasty with those twin blades of theirs.

As if a 7.62 mm round propelled by over 2 inches of gunpowder wasn't bad enough, the makers of the mod had to go ahead and include semi-jacketed hollowpoints as an ammo type.
And this is for hunting rampaging bear with? If you are including JHP .50 Barrett rounds, don't let me know. I'm not sure I want to do contemplate what even a flesh wound from one of those will do. (Flesh wound from a .50 rifle round? No such thing. Your absurd and overpowered ammos are driving me crazy!)

To TheGunrun, have you considered adding the Zoom Out More mod for C&C3 to this mod? More zoom = more visibility for us, which = more win for us.
Besides, I really love Supreme Commander's total zoom, and wish more games did that.
Sins of a Solar Empire has so much zoom stars look miniscule, and I hear Starcraft II is copying Supreme Commander's zooming as well.

I think making the Steel Talons even more awesome will be hard. I mean they have freaking Battlemechs instead of tanks so not much is more awesome than that. Maybe if they had Gundams with crazy beam lasers, but TheGunrun can't model so that won't be happening. I definitely see an overpowered Slingshot able to raid enemy harvesters. But Titans and Wolverines are so utterly awesome already. Maybe Titans with air-to-air missiles or Wolverines attacking aircraft. A Behemoth able to fire while moving would be sweet. Plus the MARV would totally kick *** even more. Basically every unit in the Retarded mod is completely awesome, even already awesome ones like the Mammoth, which somehow get made even more awesome.
Basically, this mod defines AWESOME, and I hope that EA releases an SDK for Kane's Wrath soon. (Chances of this happening, .0001%)

I'd go with the 1PN93-4 just because its a lot more ergonomic and won't take up as much screen real estate on top of the gun as the 1970's one will.

From the image on the right, it looks like an FG42 with the ultraviolet night sight on top.
Why does it have the curvy spiky bits? Those don't fit in very well with the rest of the TEC.
Actually, .223 and 5.56mm NATO are very nearly identical and are quite capable of being interchangeably loaded in the same weapons, so yes, the Mini-14 can indeed take military ammo right out of the box. 7.62mm NATO and .308 Remington are the same way as well.

You need to make a PlayerRace.entity file for the DMO. Copy PlayerTech.entity and rename the copy to PlayerDMO.entity and use that as your new DMO race file. Make sure isSelectable is set to TRUE.

I hope so since I love the gameplay additions of Project Nevada like bullet time, sprint, and mobile reticle. I don't know about the PN modules but with this setting I won't need PN's Cybernetics module to get augs. I definitely asked for this. :P
It is very easy to make a new race in Sins. All you need to do is give them their own Player<Race>.entity file and they're their own race. Just copy/paste the TEC one you're using, re-name it to PlayerDMO.entity and you've got your own separate race.
You're still going to have to decide what to do about inter-star phase jumps since DropShips definitely can't do that, and that's controlled by a research boolean, so either it isn't researched and no ships can jump or it is researched and all ships can jump. There's no middle ground. First thing that came to my mind is a completely ******** research about tiny K-F engines hotloaded from fusion reactors that allow DropShips to do K-F jumps, but like I said that's a ******** research with no grounding in BT science so you probably want something better.
One thing you guys might want to think about with regards to K-F jumps and scale is that most Sins maps only take place in a single solar system. It may be an extremely crowded solar system, but all the celestial objects in your average Sins map are in the orbit of the same, single star, and your average DropShip doesn't have issues with interplanetary transits.

If the AI can use it, #2 would be the best. If the AI can't figure it out, you'll have to go with #3 and probably nerf those spinal weapons to not insta-kill stuff.
