Not working for Remaster 3.3.
I've seen AI upscaled FMV cutscenes on Youtube, how do you get those into this mod?
Is the developer Michael Rast? It's not clear.
After all these years I don't suppose you or anyone else figured out how to decompile Dez0wave's all.spawn? I'd still like to do v2 of my Redux mod one day. I still have my whish-list of things I wanted to do!
Oh I see it now. For some reason it isn't listed in my mods under my profile. Here's to future Stalker 2 modding! Though UE5 is going to be a learning curve for me. Hopefully it'll be perfect and doesn't need modding.
Hi LB. I see that you are retired now. With Stalker 2 coming up soon I thought I'd check out the old LA Modb page, it's been a while. It would seem my Redux mod was removed. Not sure why.
That is correct yes. It was much too troublesome to make my mod work with other mods. Though I do actually use some of the PRM pack in my own mod as well as some gun sounds from an earlier mod for Shadow. And some of my own gun tweaks.
10/10/20 update.
I have successfully installed LA DC 1.40007 on a Windows 10 64 bit PC, launched the game, quit, added my mod and launched a new game with no crashing whatsoever. If your game crashes with or without the mod then you did something wrong.
This is the process I followed:
1. The downloaded files for LADC 1.40007 consist of
lsMd5.md5
LADC_Manual_1.40007.pdf
setup.exe
setup-1a.bin
setup-1b.bin
setup-1c.bin
setup-2a.bin
setup-2b.bin
2. I installed to my E: drive instead of C: but kept the Program Files (x86) folder structure
3. I chose custom install and unticked ALL optional mods. This is very important you do this. LADC Redux will not work with any other mods! For me I only had to untick prm weapon pack, closed sights, Russian voice, darker nights and free range rifle. Everything else was already unticked. UNTICK EVERYTHING.
4. Installed visual C++ 2013
5. Installed OpenAL
6. Installed Xvix codec (to the default location on C:)
7. Installed DX runtimes
8. GameData contains only:
levels (folder)
anims.db0
levels.db0
meshes.db0
shaders.db0
sounds.db0
sounds.db1
spawns.db0
textures.db0
textures.db1
textures.db2
textures.db3
textures.db4
textures.db5
textures.db6
Nothing else!
9. Run game from the desktop shortcut. An error appears, ignore it.
10. Launch the game
11. Set settings, making sure to leave sound device as software. Setting this to anything else causes the game to crash with the error: SOUND:OpenAL:Failed to create device.
12. Start new game
13. Walk around then quit
14. Copy the contents of my GameData folder from LADC Redux to the GameData that is already there. It doesn't overwrite anything because there's nothing to overwrite
15. LADC Redux adds the following folders:
config
meshes
scripts
sounds
textures
16. I add the optional cheaty stuff too, overwriting some files in the process and adding new ones. Windows 10 automatically merges the folders
17. Launch a new game
18. LADC Redux is good to go.
I appear to have a new error I've not had before.
"SOUND: OpenAL: Failed to create device"
when launching the game from the configurator. Any ideas?
So, there are a few comments here saying Redux is not working and crashing the game. I haven't reinstalled LA since I got Windows 10 and it'll be a while before I get around to doing that. As far as I'm aware LA hasn't yet received a further update from the last time when I made Redux so I'm not sure what is happening. I will update here when I get around to installing LA again and to look into reports re GameData already present in the directory - though I suspect in these cases you are also installing optional mods in the configurator without realsing it and this will DEFINITELLY cause LA to crash.
I get an unhandled exception error when I try to open anything other than content.vfx. The previous version could open the patch files.
Does this only work with .vfx files? I'm looking for specific audio in the Sam's Story DLC and there are vfs files.
How do I repack something I've modified? i.e an audio file.
The X-Ray engine is notorious for weird random crashes. Let's hope S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, whenever it comes, has a much improved and stable engine uh?
My apologies I've been rather preoccupied. I've never used the -developer mode but I'm guessing yes, yes it will work.
I included cheat stuff with the mod in the "optional cheaty things" folder. In config\weapons\ammo there are 11 .ltx files for each ammo type. Change box_size to whatever you desire.
I thought about it but I actually like it, which is why I increased the max amount of ammo you can hold on the belt in the cheat options.
Don't know what's causing that, never encountered that error before. Perhaps you can replace sens.oal.dll?
It won't work with other mods, perhaps you have others?
There's an option to turn off head-bobbing? I don't remember seeing one. I ported over a large portion of my mod files from other mods I made of SoC and Oblivion Lost and updated my earlier stab at modding an older version of LA. I honestly did not think to check LA's settings for head-bobbing!
Just Lost Alpha 1.4007. No add-ons or those additional mods it comes with. There might be some that work, I haven't tested them all - mainly because unpacking them to check the file contents doesn't always work.
Yep, all modified files are listed in the Readme, should be pretty easy to just copy over the ammo size stuff from the cheat folder.
I don't know what's causing that. I haven't modded any files for the military map so this is likely a bug with the X-Ray engine.
This bug was known to me but I couldn't replicate it to find a solution. Perhaps Dez0wave fix it in the next version.
Hmm, I don't think I encountered that at the bar. Is the original bar or the one that's opened up later after the chopper attack?
Sorry no, that would be beyond my capabilities to resolve.
No, vanilla only. I should add LiquidBronze will be combining bits of my mod with his Story Line Fix - the goal is to create an all-in one.
Just fixed a lot of spelling errors in the description. Sorry about that! Though this does mean the Readme.txt in the zip still has those errors. I'll fix those when I get around to updates and possible patches.
Thank you, I worked on it for a few months while playing the game from the start.
