best stuff todo is to load it onto the cloud, can hardly loose anything there
if working on a bigger team the best thing is probably to rent a server and give all your members permission to access it, so all work of the day lands up on it

Just some "realistic" stuff problems:
The only lightsource is the console with the screen, though it looks like the console was brought into the room, so the room needs to have a primary lightsource like usual lights on the ceiling (they don't need to be on though, otherwise the room would have been completely dark before the combine used it, which is not that realistic.

My mother language, which I handle perfectly, is german as well, but while my english is pretty good, it is still far away from anyone who had it as his first language.
on the open world thing:
I actually loved the world of morrowind, it was not so generic as oblivion, you could find interesting things everywhere and there ever was the urge to explore.
The players who got lost were for sure none of these explorer types, but you could maybe handle it like Fallout 3. Giving the player an objective with a map which leads him through a main quest, and yet he is free to explore everything else in the world as well and finish as many side quests as he decides.

It's fun, good music and nice art and lot of enemies, just missed some sort of boss battle or some kind of bigger enemies, but that's probably not your intention to do.
I found a bug, the question marks of the tutorial didn't disappear in the normal game, they kept their place, sometimes even in walls and stuff, on each stage.

my friend, just go into the mod folder and search for the cfg folder, there you copy the config.cfg into another folder like where you have the installation file of the mod.
And when they release an update, you copy paste the cfg back into the cfg folder, and you have your old settings back.
(btw you can also open a *.cfg file with the editor, copy the lines which are for your controls and put them into a autoexec.cfg which is in the same cfg folder, now everytime you start the mod, the controls in the autoexec will overwrite the controls in the config.cfg, so you don't depend on the config.cfg any longer)

Free to play is a great market idea.
It helps both, players and produces.
While players get frequent updates, new stuff to hold them on the game and sometimes even ongoing tournaments; producers get longtime members, extreme popularity cause it's played by both player fractions (free and pay) and still more than enough money.
What I hate though are Dlc's.
They are more than often heavily overpriced, often game supports stops after the company released one or two dlc's, and the worst, a game with dlc's often makes it it's users impossible to edit the game.
No modding, no mapping, not even adjusting graphical stuff.
I actually play only one "free to play", that is league of legends. They made the model perfect, by offering frequent patches and new stuff, but still keeping the pay stuff only visual, you can't get any gamebreaking stuff from putting money into the game.
And I agree that "free to play" is a totally wrong name, I play some free to play games too, like Warsow, but they are really free to play, you can't buy anything for the game itself there and they are community driven only.
"free or/and pay" or "basically free" would be much better terms for it.

And I think that the author spend enough time to make the game a pleasurable look, especially for such a short game.

just some thoughts:
I love the shotgun, it's a great weapon for close quarter combat where marines are normally low, also the secondary fire kills each enemy instant if you are in the right range, already killed an alien and a predator together with it :3.
The flamethrower is big **** against aliens, they need to long to get down, and if they burn they still attack you mostly resulting in exploding in front of you and giving you an acid shower.
Sniper is very useful weapon in singleplayer, especially against stronger enemies like androids or predators, in multiplayer it's quite hard to hit with it, as the scope is really small and most enemies move far too fast, but you can also use it in close range unscoped, it's still very strong.
The spear is really hard to handle, if you want to hit a moving target you have to predict where he will walk, for a normal walking marine about 1metre at mid range! If you shoot someone at mid range, you should target slightly downwards your actual aim, as the spear flies in some sort of a bend, but it's still a strong weapon though if you succeed with it.
The disc is cool but you shouldn't forget that as long as you don't have it back, your lasers will stay online.
The zoom is imo only useful for locating enemies and using the spear, with the disc you have the lasers anyway.
If you are close enough to an enemie and you press the heavy attack, the aliens doesn't use the tail, it uses the slow but powerful heavy attack, if you are on a wall or the ceiling or not so near to an enemy you will use the fast and strong tail attack. (that's at least what I recognized, correct me if I'm wrong

how about the idea to plave some stationary mines on those rotating arms, they don't hurt you but they could help you to move

An idea for another gametype, a race, you start at the same time, and you have to run to the finish. Maybe if you touch the walls or sth. you die and get respawned on a save point, and maybe you make static and dynamic balls so that you can even shoot other people out of the line so that they get respawned which saves you time.
