The hell you're talking about?
The problem was with silencer itself. And it was solved years ago.
The trick was to apply transparent texture onto the silencer to remove it.

Incorrect,
Chinook was used to transport small amount of supplies and soldiers as well, It was multipurpose.

Doesn't matter, the fact that you did proves that you are disrespectful to the author and his work on the mentioned mod.
Also attitude like that won't help you gather a team for your own mods.

Quick BMS m8 but not everything you can mod.. files with extension win.bmd they are hardcoded and even if you mod .xml with exactly the same name will not take any effect still figuring a way to find a tool to decrypt win.bmd files..
