Hehehe, you can also destroy them with lighter weapons such as an assault rifle or SMG, just aim for one of their legs and fire until they drop, then fire on the other leg and it'll drop to the ground (it'll eventually get up again if you don't finish them off quickly), from there on you can get to a good position where you can see their top section and aim the weapon at their weak point and fire the assault rifle like crazy until they are destroyed (the weak point is located near their camera).
OR you can simply use the Javelin Anti-Tank Missile launcher and finish them off in one go XD

Sure thing, you may also use the M82A2 rifle (costs 200.000 Drebin Points), the M82 can easily destroy a Gekko with very few shots.

That weapon can easily destroy any Gekko (with direct shots).
The weapon and ammo are kind of expensive at first:
- M82 = 200.000 DP
- Ammo (x1) = 2250 DP
But it really compensates with excellent firepower and range.
