One thing's for certain though, this TGS will be quite interesting.
The F-35B will be the specific Harrier replacement.
That specific 'B' version is the short takeoff and vertical landing variant of the F-35.
There are three main F-35 variants:
Conventional Takeoff and Landing, mainly oriented to replace the F-16 (and the A-10 eventually, though I doubt it will fully replace it for a looong time);
Short Takeoff and Landing, intended to gradually replace Harriers and the older F/A-18 Hornets;
Aircraft Carrier-based variant, to phase out the older Hornet variants and to work alongside the F/A-18E & F/A-18F Super Hornets (and possibly the EA-18G Growler).
The "Operation" in which these specific units participated only involved vehicles (with the objective of testing urban maneuvers and tactical vehicle movement).
At that time infantry was not fully coded/included in game (soldiers were being tested in different simulations and tests).
Yeah, every Stryker variant will be able of receiving the Cage Armor upgrade (player's choice).
It's very similar, but these specific remote controlled weapon stations are called 'Protector M151'.
A Protector M151 variant won the CROWS II program and was chosen by the US Army to equip vehicles such as Humvees.
These specific weapons are based on the XM307 (grenade launcher) and XM312 (heavy machine gun) and will be a modernization of the M2HB and Mk.19 in game.
Note that the CROWS-controlled M2HB and Mk.19 (the weapons seen in the other Humvee render) will appear as well.
There will be both manned and remote controlled (CROWS) M2HB and Mk.19 MG's.
Indeed the AC-47 is known as the "Spooky" (aka "Puff, the Magic Dragon").
The AC-130 haves various names depending on the specific variant in question. The "Spectre" typically refers to the older AC-130H variant while the more recent AC-130U is known as the "Spooky" (or "Spooky II" as a reference to the older AC-47 Spooky).
The main defensive weapon currently in use by the US Military (by vehicle crews for example) is basically compact M16 derivatives (specially the M4 carbine) or M9's which gradually replaced the old school M3A1 Grease Gun.
We recently chose a certain PDW for the US Military, we'll present it on a future weapon update :)
Yup, the AC-130U Spooky to be more specific.
The F-35 will be included as well (F-35B).
We're still not completely sure at the moment (we'll have to calculate the "weight" the destroyed vehicles will have in game and analyze the game's lag tolerance), but destroyed vehicles will remain in the map for a while at least.
Nope, once stealth aircraft are landed they'll be vulnerable (stealth in this case applies while the planes are in the air).
We pride ourselves of our high quality weed lol.
We'll probably have two types of defensive weapons:
- Handguns (the most common defensive sidearms);
- PDW's and possibly other compact Submachine Guns.
In the US case, the standard sidearm is the M9 (Beretta 92FS) pistol and as for the compact SMG/PDW, it wasn't still chosen though there are a lot of sexy candidates such as:
- MP5K / MP5K-PDW ( World.guns.ru );
- Kriss Super V / TDI Vector ( Defensereview.com(.45%20ACP)_4.jpg );
- KAC PDW - tank crews ( Defensereview.com );
- Magpul PDR ( Defensereview.com ).
There's a great selection for the possible US PDW/SMG (the main weapon will still be the handgun, and these will probably have a smaller appearance "ratio" or will be standard for elite crewmen and pilots).
The F-22 is like a femme fatale: beautiful, yet deadly :)

For the European Union they (pilots and crewmen) will most likely have MP7A1's (P90's will be used as personal defense weapons for some other European infantry).
Yeah, the player will be able to switch the plane from "Jet Mode" (standard flight) to "Hover Mode".
While in Hover Mode, the plane will be capable of very accurate cannon fire (using it's integral cannon) or Vertical Take-Off and Landing.
Yeah, pilots and armor crewmen will be armed with personal defense weapons (submachine guns and pistols), which will be suitable for close range defensive roles.
Absolutely, the FV4034 Challenger 2 will appear as well.
On the contrary, the C-17 will complement the C-130 in the heavier transport duties (the C-130J will take care of the "lighter" duties such as light vehicle, supply or paratrooper transport while the C-17 will transport tanks and other heavy hardware which cannot be carried on the C-130 due to it's limitations).
As you can see on these images, the C-130J Super Hercules will appear as well ^^:

Randomization won't be only adopted for infantry, it'll be adopted for pretty much everything in the mod, vehicles are a major example, a player can have many different kinds of a single tank or plane (from a specific class/type) on a single game.
For example, a player may be able to have several kinds of an M1A2 Abrams under his command.
These dudes, just like aircraft pilots, won't be unarmed (unlike ZH in which pilots are slow and unarmed).
They will wield Personal Defense Weapons for close range defensive roles.
At this exact moment, this bird is already rolling on TAOW's Battlefields, the vehicle deployment system is already working as well (this plane can drop heavy vehicles on any map location).
Thanks, infantry will have many fantastic features which were unthinkable on ZH.
A perfect example is randomization, a major logic which we have adopted for TAOW, this logic will allow us to have many types of soldiers (different faces, weapon attachments, weapon variants/layouts, skin colorations, equipment/gear, etc.) for example.
Needless to say, it's gonna be BIG XD

It really depends on their specific needs (I suppose the Saur 1 and Saur 2 are cheaper than the Strykers which is always an interesting advantage for countries with limited military budgets like Iraq, even though Iraq is seriously tooling up their renewed armed forces).
They would have to test both on specific Army Trials (to see which one's the most suited for the intended Iraqi terrain). The Stryker haves the advantage of having been extensively field tested by US Forces (and the fact that they respect and have US Military hardware alongside them everyday).
At this exact moment however, the Stryker is the one which will have the decisive probability of entering full military service in the Iraqi Security Forces, specially since they have formally made a large order of 400 Strykers: Strategypage.com
A pity that that EOTech Holographic Sight wasn't included in the final version, I love that sight and was almost sure it would be in MGS4 (since it made it's appearance on the very first trailer).
Depends on the drinker (for some it may be a lot, for others it may be "ok", lol).
(Just remember to have backup/emergency kegs, oh and it's better if you don't drive after this, it may be a bit "unhealthy" if you know what I mean).
Hehehe, you can also destroy them with lighter weapons such as an assault rifle or SMG, just aim for one of their legs and fire until they drop, then fire on the other leg and it'll drop to the ground (it'll eventually get up again if you don't finish them off quickly), from there on you can get to a good position where you can see their top section and aim the weapon at their weak point and fire the assault rifle like crazy until they are destroyed (the weak point is located near their camera).
OR you can simply use the Javelin Anti-Tank Missile launcher and finish them off in one go XD

Lol ^^ yeah, once I was playing a 2 vs 2 airsoft battle (defenders vs attackers) and I was on a roof (providing suppressive "fire" and drawing the other team's attention so my teammate could flank them), I accidentally hit the other teams sniper (with a 6mm BB spray'n pray from my M4) and he made a hilarious wookiee-like scream, from there on I began to nickname the adversary snipers as the "chewbaccas" or "wookiees" XD
Lol yeah, if you ask me it's much better to create an homemade ghillie than spending a lot of cash on a sucky thing (plus we have the advantage of being able to fully customize it to our intended environment thus making it much more effective and completely affordable since it's made of basic materials).
I like to call ghillie suits the "chewbacca suits", after the star wars thing ( Guerrestellari.it ) XD

This plane's pretty cool, we are still gonna arm it and use insignias (which will be based on real life USAF squads), practically all vehicles in the mod will have many variants (several emblems, registration numbers and skin differences, this is to give units a much wider sense of "individuality", so they aren't just "clones" of each other).
Definitely, I bet you'll love the other attack helis as well (Tiger, Mangusta, Hind, Havoc, etc.)

UAV (Unmanned aerial vehicle) technology will also play a big role in future wars (it is already in big use).
The Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles will be very used too (judging by the actual rapid UAV technology growth).
The UCAV's are getting pretty advanced, new projets are being researched in many counties (just check out the cool european Dassault nEUROn, or the american X-47 Pegasus), the UCAV's will must likely be used in future wars Big Time.
We will obviously include UAV technology in TAOW, but i can't say much about it right now :)
That's exactly right, that B3 project (aka "2018 Bomber") will have many developments over the next years (like new final goals, and stuff like that).
At this time the USAF (and NATO itself) is upgrading their stealth technology (with such deadly aa systems being built all around it is a must for future military aircraft to be extremely stealthy, or... bye bye :)
About the B3 project...well, time will tell, and cash of course :D
The F-22 Raptor will be the F-22A in the mod (just like the USAF's real life designation).
Oh, check out the Northrop YF-23. The F22 won over this model, but this one is cool-lookin too, and there are some rumours that there's a chance that it might (MIGHT) enter service in the USAF (the other competing aircraft are the FB-22 and the B-1R).
Exactly, the Raptor had two previous designations, the YF-22 (prototype version) and F/A-22 (three years before formally entering the USAF).
The main (formal) actual designation is F-22 Raptor (these details are obviously gonna be entered in the final ingame vehicle name).
It funny, about the F-35 many people are still use to call it F/A-35 :)
In the playable mod versions expect to find accurate names and only real military designations (its the final objective of this mod :D )

WOW, i love the stryker, and these models are simply amazing.
Many thanks ^^, basically we looked at ZH from a different perspective and are changing and taking it in another direction (different from the one which most other projects chose), therefore TAOW will be very different in it's own ways.
One thing I tell ya, there are a lot of bold concepts in TAOW, some which may be even unthinkable and shocking for many ZH players at first, but will be extremely interesting and original when done :)
Funny you mention alliances, we're also planning some "surprises" in that field :)
On the campaign mode we'll have many non-playable (and also unique) factions like the Ukrainian Armed Forces (which will appear on the campaign mode to primarily defend Ukraine with their own units), the Alliances in this case will depend on the player's point of view / faction which was chosen (that being said, if you play as a specific faction you may be able to fight alongside allies which are adversaries if you choose the other adversary faction).
A new concept in which we are also working a lot is the "Rebel / Militia" logic, basically we want to hopefully include locals (local factions) which will ally with certain players which complete certain special objectives.
An idea which was also proposed (and is looking quite promising) is the inclusion of the UN (United Nations) in game.
Basically we want to create a system in which alliances are forged in game (depending on the course of action a certain player takes).
The Marines will be deployed on the "Naval Mode" as the USMC's infantry, Marines will have many classes obviously (each one with their own armament and duties).
By the way, the team has decided to start "Mini Updates" from now on to let people know of the latest developments much more often (to avoid being away from Moddb for months).
Such updates will be released between large updates (just like the "Mega Update") and will reveal extra info, news and game footage.

Definitely, infantry weapons and their respective attachments and variants will be randomized (just like infantry is), let's suppose an American Special Forces soldier is using a SCAR assault rifle, one weapon may have a tactical flashlight, another weapon (in the hands of another soldier) may have a tactical laser, another weapon may have a certain scope/sight, a lot of detail will be given to the slightest detail (while keeping a close eye on the poly count obviously).
The EU, just like the US and RF will have it's own unique units, this goes from infantry to aircraft, ground vehicles, helicopters, planes, ships, you name it ^^
The European Union will be the most diverse faction, not only we'll include vehicles and weapons from many European countries, we'll also include many different variants.
In terms of voice acting, the EU will be the most diverse faction as well (many units will have voices from their respective home countries).

Those moments are epic though (that's gotta be some of the most original/crazy stuff that was done during that video game epoch lol).
I love that game, the extras were excellent (it allowed many people to play the old school classics) and I love the new additions such as the 3D camera (they used it as a prototype for MGS4).
I really wanted to replay Metal Gear Online 1 (the first MG Online game which was an extra in Subsistence), but unfortunately they shut off the whole game servers :( (specially due to the fact that that version was, just like the 3D cam, a prototype for MGS4).
That kinda reminds me of some "engrish" cases in the first MG versions (which I played during the 90's).
