That is generally the direction we are trying to go now.

Actually we have just returned to First Command and are beginning to work out an updated prototype.

Just so you know the audio on Indie DB is broken for some reason. If you want to hear the audio in the video you can go here: Youtube.com

Actually, Unity is an excellent engine to go with. Hit titles like Kerbal Space Program and Wasteland 2 have been made in Unity with great results. I have actually come to find it far easier to work with than Unreal Engine 3 which I used extensively while I was at Full Sail University.

Voxeland is also our only plugin. Everything else has been coded internally.

100k is a lot, but it has to support us completely for at lest a year and also buy us some professional art.

So far as what we have done, you saw the block building and ground checks working if you watched the Kickstarter video. They still have some bugs to work out but they are fully functional at this point, we just don't have a lot of blocks yet.

The Voxeland system that allows players to dig is also working, it just hasn't been tied into the players tools yet.We will be working on that this coming week actually.

Not shown in the video, we also have thrown weapons, and a tool for breaking blocks working.

There will be an update on Sunday explaining whats been going on in detail.

Not exactly. I won’t deny a lot of similarities with Minecraft. It is a wonderfully inspirational game, and now I want to improve upon the genre it created. The structural integrity features will make building require a little more skill, and hopefully thus be that much more rewarding. Threshold also has a stronger focus on combat with more unique types of enemies. Also threshold has airships.

So, considering the source material, will this be using the Oculus Rift? or would people be too afraid of not being able to get back out? X D

Yep, totally and absolutely right. This is so early in development that no sane game developer would even be willing to talk about their game, much less post pictures and videos of the horrible programmer art. Good thing I am not sane!

The reality is, posting this early server two purposes, one more than the other. The lesser reason is that from what I have seen, smaller Indi groups build better communities when they lay it all out for everyone. Yeah I probably started a bit early, but I was excited Ok?

Secondly, and possibly more importantly, by putting myself out here now, I have made a commitment. A small one at the moment, but I have announced to the world that I am going to make this game. So it will hurt my pride a bit if I just let it die. ; )
