It's normal. Crysis has many bugs with the save system and the most annoying is the quick save when you are into a vehicle. We had to disable it, like in a few other parts of the game (inside the complex of the the first level). The SDK of Crysis is incomplete and we don't have access to everything.

Xpadder -> It's the best solution for gamepads. Too much problems with the native crysis support.
But i don't know if it's really playable with a gamepad, the movements are too slow with a big lack of precision. Not recommended.

It's a little patch that you can apply and remove when you want, with no effect on the save files (no modification on maps).
The 1.14 patch is adding a lot of things on the two first levels (big arrows to show what to do, more ammo and life, visual improvements...).
Now, i think that this mod can be played by "normal" gamers.
Do you see "1.14" somewhere on this page ? It's the 1.1 installer (1.2GB). :)
Apply this very-easy patch after the main 1.14 update ;)

Launch as admin. The application needs to create a configuration file.
Check your anti-virus, F-secure and Bitdefender have problems with the installer and can corrupt or delete de file. Extract with windows or winrar.

Yes, too much bugs with CE2 (abandoned since 2008), it was a nightmare (the mod is crashing on 10% of computers, random bugs, memory leaks...).
But we started the mod in 2007 and it's almost impossible to convert it to CE3 (too much c++ code, more than one year of work for the maps...). We needed to release the CE2 version ASAP to work on a new project. We can't do better, only two modders for 3D models, textures, code, musics, maps...

It's not a SG game, and CryEngine 2 has a lot of random bugs. It's not a good engine for modders but we made our best.

Steam version is 32bit only. Use the 32bit launcher.

You must play the mod in 32bit, even if your system is 64.
We added 64b support (beta) for people who can't run the 32b version.
Are you launching the mod with the 32bit launcher ? Steam version is 32bit only.
It's not really kami's lookout but we were DB/DBZ fans twenty years ago.
Maybe you should make a backup of your save folder, and only keep the last save from the mod.
It will be very hard to play StarCry with a 5 year old graphic card. Recommended settings are high / very high. You will have a lot of bugs if you don't have enough frames per second, and it will be very ugly with medium or low settings.

The holodisc of the lanzor can be found on abydos. When you are near the exit of the fortress (with the four generators), you must turn right at the first guard tower.

If the previous version is installed, you need to uninstall it and delete the Mods/StarCry folder before installing the full 1.1. You don't need to change anything if you have the 1.06 version, it's the same content but we had to do a full package because a few players didn't unzip the update correctly.
A lot of people thought like you. Maybe because 96% of mod projects are never released.
Because we don't play MP games (only coop). That's the reason why MP is not interesting us, and we don't want to manage a server.
But maybe we will recruit a team and help them to work on a multiplayer part for StarCry if a lot of people are interested.
We will not work directly on that version, and i think that it would be made with the new Cry Engine to avoid the huge number of bugs of Crysis.
Slow computers will always have bugs, we can't fix this... You must be able tu run our benchmark in very high detail level, with more than 20fps. If not, you will have weird polygons on dead bodies, blocked scripts... It's an issue from crysis. We can't do anything about random crashes, crysis has a lot of memory leaks (some particles are constantly increasing the ram amount) and we don't have access to all the C++ code with the Mod Devkit. You can fix things if you want and share what you found, but our work will stop next WE. The mod is fine with good hardware, we had no bug during our last tests.
I will upload the full 1.1 installer this WE if there is no more bugs.
