He's a part of a scientist team at the beginning. No special training. He is incorporated later because of the alien knowledge acquired because of the alien box he found (the reason why he became translator on abydos and can read alien signs).
But that level was supposed to the the first one, we added that small tutorial for players to learn the basics at the first minutes of the game (using the digicode system etc). We added the current first level at the end (whiteout) of the development because the story wasn't clear enough. I think that today i would add the first introduction level as a flashback, later in the adventure, because it's too boring for players who only want action with the sci-fi assets.

I tested yesterday and i have no aiming problem. It is right that the staff is not accurate but there is a reason : it's a kind of rocket launcher that you can find everywhere. I remember that we had to limit the number of ammo too, because it broke completely the game (buying new weapons was useless). You have to use it only if you have nothing else. Maybe i will tweak it with a special patch.
I can kill 3 jaffas in a row without reloading the P90. So, it's pretty good weapon.

We made that to balance them. They can be too powerful if too much accurate. So, we made three classes of weapons, from close to far range. Close have a lot of power or unlimited ammo, but are less accurate. Or we added an overheat system. But everything is easily moddable. We thought that maybe someone else could make a little tweak for the vehicles and the weapons. No one shared it. Maybe i could add something like that into the "very easy patch".
I had no aiming problem. Really easy for me. Maybe change your mouse :p

But single shots are not so bad at middle range.
And the dual wield is really powerful.
Yes maybe. We only wanted a small sequence with the phaser, because it's not the most used weapon.
The mod was made for that version. You only need to patch it.

It's the goal of this mod, we added all the things that we likes in sci-fi movies, series and games. If you remove everything, what do ou want to keep? This is not a SG mod.

Desert or city part?
For the temple of the desert, after the caves, you only have to copy the codes (under the doors you want to unlock) on the device at the center of the area.
- Make sure you have Crysis with the 1.21 patch.
- Unzip the content of the “files” folder into the root folder of Crysis. Default folders :
# Boxed version : “C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\”
# Steam version : “C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis\”
- Run StarCry’s launcher ("StarCry Launcher.exe") and apply the official tweaks. A backup of your old config and autoexec files will be made.
- Launch the DirectX10 version, or the DirectX9 version if your hardware or OS is not compatible.
- Apply the “Very High Detail” settings and the crosshair of your choice. Activate the subtitles.
- Start a new single player campaign !
Untested but it should work. The reason why i added it into this pack :)
It's the final release but maybe someone will make mods for it in the future, to improve the gameplay or change some models?

Hello, i never saw that bug here. And never saw a crash when saving... Maybe try from the last save of the previous level (fight vs Ra)?
Maybe this is the reason why for Crysis 2 & 3 they removed the manual save system. Too much bugs with crysis 1.
