I'm currently working as Product Developer for a German Company specialising in new food ideas. I have always been writing short stories and also started writing film scripts a couple of years ago. Since I never was so keen about working on real-life sets, I decided to move into the digital realms and produce high quality machinima.

Heya,

I'm updating a bit about what's going on behind the scenes. Apart from me picking up some skills in Photoshop, several new artists have joined the mod, as we can't have enough concept art (ever) and you can never find enough concept artists.

It's getting tough now, because some actual action is required by our Motion-Capture Studio, which is getting delayed by real-life projects of the studio. Most of the problems we suffer from derive from personal problems of important members, who can't dedicate their time to the project as they used to. I'm trying best to bring back the creative spark and igniting the desire to move on with the project.
We already missed two chances to enter th Make Something Unreal Competition and I really would like us see enter the third phase, even if it's only with a teaser-trailer.

Modding is no easy task at all. I find that out every time I try doing something for my project. It can be rewarding to see other people get inspired and start discussing features among each others and with me, but these pleasant situations are alway stalled by a lack of art or direction. We are only slowly moving towards a proof of concept, which has a lot to do with the difficulties of imagining the world we create in Rotoscope style.

The shader decision has still not been made, but I'm over the top with work already and I don't want to invest my available time in shader problems, when we still have trouble with the production pipeline. I know it would be better to have everything working from the start, but if we can't get the shader to fit our needs in the end, we still have the option to drop it and revert to realistic looking textures.

A lot of work and many things left to do are no reason to stop working. I can only support the team with fresh art and some artists I recently recruited. It still feels like there is a world out there to draw and I admit I didn't realise that creating a new universe entails to create a whole world, which may not fall appart after looking at it. What we do has to be believable, even in it's immensity.

Noticed your news post comment - the 'Sacrator' models are mostly bought (if not all of them). You can find them on Turbosquid, and they're nowhere near game-ready, if at all game-useable.

He hasn't a clue, hasn't a team and has a lot of evidence in his forum profile;
Moddb.com

Amusingly, both me and leilei have pointed out links to his 'teams models' on Turbosquid, but those comments get deleted.

Well actually a guy called Perkan drew the concepts. He made the illustrations for the core rule books and some world books for the roleplaying game we base our mod on. Those concepts are even more beutiful, we also have another illustrator that has illustrated the game books in our team. But he hasnt drawn any concepts we will use for the mod yet. He will make some 3d characters for us, he is very talented also.

I also draw but at the moment I only do management stuff. Really looking forward to the development phase of this project. To see things youve only seen illustrated and imagined becoming more real in 3d. =)

Checked out bits an pieces of it, looks damn interesting and solid. In terms of actual design elements, what kind of style are you aiming for? I have two particular styles, a cartoony long stroke line work with soft pastel like colouring (similar to Cheeks-74, look him up), or refined detailed paints (colour and pencil, goes both ways) one thing my clients or even the boys at my job will tell you is that no matter what style I am for, humor always finds a way into my work. Attitude and personality is probably the most important thing to me when it comes to art. Each character, scene, environment, or creature visually represents its entire story with one look. Like the saying goes, 1 picture is worth 1,000 words.

I'd be interested in helping out, but not until we pass some major milestones at work. Keep in touch!
~Cheers

Yo SinKing :)

Yeah I have Doom3, it’s a really great game, got to download the Last Man Standing Coop perhaps Sunday if not too busy, yeah sorry that you have not seen me in KF, been giving my gamecube a shoot with resident evil 0, hard game because you always have to go back on yourself either to pick some item up or got to a sector to put the item in to work a machine or something!!!!!

Sin! Did you download this version Doom 3 Coop Mod Last Man Standing Coop 3.0 Official Windows Version Featuring Classic Doom Coop? Because I think that’s the one I’m downloading soon.

I’ll have to reinstall resurrection of evil too so we can play on the expansion maps. Recently bought a external hard drive 250GB of memory so I’m getting favourite games backup and put new ones on, like Land Of the Dead, Road to fiddles green, getting it Tuesday this week I hope.

Played on KF the other day, but I had been to the pub earlier so my head was spinning and still got to waves 8 on my own, weird playing killing floor when you have a few beers, feels like the specimens come right at you more.

What’s this Full Metal Jacket Mod about and which game does it require to play?
Out Of hell is another mod to watch out for, completely a single player mod, sounds good especially when I’m resident evil fan, like one man missions to hell and back.
Also got a mod for D3 called Event Horizon, based on the movie, it’s a nice little story mod with loading screen clips from the movie.

Have u been on Defence alliances 2 recently, as I uninstalled it as their was not many people playing it but….nvm….! Cool mod but too few people so it had to go!

Perhaps see you in killing floor tomorrow, I’ll be on a server perhaps after 1.00pm and we can arrange a time the D3 co op playing section once I have download it.

See ya when I see ya,
Try e-mailing me if you wont to Have a KF game,

Cheers for pm :)

Umbrella out
