Hi, I'm a guy from Sweden who's currently going to game development college. I'm interested in game development, creating 3d models and programming.
I think they're going for a more realistic approach, so if you tried doing that you would probably just break some bones in this game. :P
Unless someone mods that in there, that would work.
Not many mods this time, but they are all awesome.
You should just not worry about what other developers are doing with their stuff and focus on your own instead.
It's looking good, I like the addition of structures and the support lines, will add some depth to the game.
I love how this looks, keep it up!
Keep up the good work!
Great work man!
Regarding the darkness of night time; you'll need to account for people's bad monitors. You and I might see something during night time, but if your monitor isn't good enough it'll just be 100% black.
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I usually see pretty ok during the night. It's easier to see in real life since our eyes adjust properly and a number of other factors that can be hard to represent properly. Therefore you can just make it all a bit brighter to simulate that.
Looking forward to the next one as usual!
Sounds totally awesome!
Looking forward to Desura's future.
Yeah just select a different monitor texture for a different effect!
I love it all! Looking forward to the next post!
Minecraft is awesome! I'm so going to buy it when I have some cash to spare. nice river there dude!
You put a lot of work into this considering you only wanted to say what would fit on one line. :P
Too bad though, the mod looks nice and I hope you can finish it!
Great preview you got there! Really nice game!
That's so great!
It's going to be so awesome playing NS2!
This picture is from Counter-Strike: Source, you can use it in any Source game like Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat: Source, or any multiplayer Source mod like Orion, Coven and so on.
Go crazy spraying this **** man, help spreading the word of Overgrowth! :D
I hope some people start using it, I like to use it since it gives me a reason to use my spray and I'm helping the most awesome indie developer.
This is so awesome!
I LOVE the new design! :D
Another good thing about switching from DirectX I guess. :)
You just said yourself that there's always the risk that the server will crash, how's that possible if the program is free from server crashing bugs? There's always the risk, claiming that your software is crash free is pretty big.
How can you know if you've fixed all the server crashing bugs? Just add a "known" in there so you won't have to overstate your improvements. Maybe just a pet peeve of mine, dunno.
Good work in any case, I hope you get on SteamWorks!
You also need to up the framerate.
I can highly recommend using the DivX codec for encoding the video file, it's what I use and it delivers amazing quality at a really, really low file size.
You did well!
MTA has always had support for mods.
This is really awesome, played some last night and it's already fun even though it's pretty primitive so far.
You're back! :D
So "analytical shapes" are basically boxes? That would explain why ragdoll collision meshes are almost always boxes, because they are faster to calculate with.
Interesting post, looking forward to more!
That's super awesome!
AMD 6400+ (dual core)
That's really awesome!
I like the pictures, but it's annoying to have the text as pictures as well. Overall, nice list'o tips!
Yeah well done on the bloom!
It seems that some developers need to go outside and look at how "bloom" works in real life. Even today bloom is sometimes too harsh in games, but you do a good job in yours!
