Hi, I'm a guy from Sweden who's currently going to game development college. I'm interested in game development, creating 3d models and programming.
Why did this just appear in my updates? :S
Glad you guys like it!
It costs $29.95 to buy the game and get access to the weekly alphas, the secret preorder forum as well as the full game when it's released.
When I add a review to a game I have previously rated, the review doesn't show up when I browse my reviews. Actually, it doesn't show up at all.
On a totally different note; have you considered changing from a 1-10 rating system to a 1-5 rating system?
Runs very smoothly for me (9800 GT).
Looks nice, it feels like you've ripped the textures and levels straight from the game somehow, they look very, very much like the ones in the game.
Well done so far!
I think the collar thing looks awesome. It won't cut through if they just animate it right.
I'd like to have these as wallpapers!
I think that's because the server is full, try a server with an odd number of players. I read this is already fixed, but I'm not sure if it's updated yet.
I'm glad you guys like it!
Sounds totally awesome!
Looking forward to Desura's future.
Looks really good!
I love the feeling in the weapons and the maps look super awesome.
I have a little knowledge about that (not enough), but if it gets enough requests I'll make sure to learn all about it and make a tutorial on the subject. ;)
Guys, if you're looking for professional content, why are you looking on ModDB? >.>
After reading it myself I don't really see why you're bashing it, I mean, it really isn't that bad at all.
Do the cloaks have physics?
I'd say the shape is pretty off.
That is quite epic, I love these kinds of things. You should get a more hand written font in there also, and maybe you could have different people write in different fonts and stuff.
I love it.
Well if you read the post you will see that they apply the different detail textures based on the color of the base terrain, so that would be very possible yes.
They are using one texture for the whole ground to get the basic color. If they would use that same texture for the details also, that texture would need to be OMGWTFBBQ-HUGE to get the same detail they get with this method. They get MUCH more bang for the buck with their method.
I'm glad I could be of help.
I'm afraid you can't do that easily, no. :(
You can have AI controlled Combine APCs though.
This is really cool! I'll add a link to this from my Hammer Units Converter made in Java.
Many picture links don't work. :(
Will be waiting!
That's a good point.
Thank you for the request also!
Nah it's just that site, for some reason it likes to go down seemingly on random. But it's up after a while again.
Yeah, Nem's Terrain Generator is awesome when you have to make big pieces of terrain!
Awesome post! Looking forward to chapter two!
Awesome pictures, could be very useful in many situations.
Awesome, I'm hoping you'll keep making vids. :)
And that is totally related to making an OS.
I LOVE THIS! I really, REALLY like the IK stuff! Not enough games have that! It's looking more and more promising!
Please make the blood coded, like a bunch of small particles. It would work very well in a slow paced game like this and it would look splendid!
It's great to see all the weapons in action, it looks like fun.
Yeah the fog looks awesome! What did you use to get that smoky effect if I may ask?
Do they have ANY non-meat pizzas? They are usually not common at all, we have a pizza place not far from here and they only have like three or four veggie pizzas, sucks both for me and them.
Wow this game is really fun right now! You need to keep developing this to make it better! I'm eagerly awaiting the next version!
Nice tunes on the piano, the models look awesome too! Looking forward to playing this.
I'll be waiting. :)
Seems pretty great to me! I know a bit of Java and C++ so I hope that'll help me when I'm gonna mod OG. :-)
All music in Overgrowth is composed by Mikko Tarmia ( Mikkotarmia.com ).
Looks very, very good so far.
I'll try to help you out, sent you a PM.
If anyone else has a problem, please don't hesitate to write a message.
Did you just take a screenshot and made it bigger in some image manipulation program? It's all blurry.
I'm glad everyone understood! It could've been better but I was in a hurry.
Awesome dude! ModDB is the ****! :-D
Since Half-Life is just 1$ on Steam today, I bought it for me, my bro and my cousin. :-D
HL mods <3
Woah this looks like some crazy ****! I hope you add that kind of music to the game, it wouldn't be nearly as awesome without it! :-D
This mod is awesome. If I only had HL :-( .
You got that right! :-D
Thanks for all the comments folks, if you like this tool I'd appreciate if you told your mapping friends about it. ;-D
Woah! I don't have CS but this is so cool! Make one for CS: S! :-D
That's pure coolness!
Wow, havn't heard of the anime before but with this update you've won..... My watch!
I usually ask before I borrow stuff.
They look cool.
Isn't RPG maker considered an engine? I'm just assuming that's being used after looking at the screenshots.
I think that angle for the arms is standard for HL2.
Yeah! Thats the nicest!
As mentioned in the tutorial it has little to no effect on rendering cost since they are pre-calculated.
It's pretty cool, but very repetitive right now. I trust you are working on adding new enemies and stuff though.
This'll be useful!
Glad you guys learned something! :)
It's a great game!
That looks real nice!
Shouldn't you be able to colonize a planet that there are already people on and they can start a war or something if they're at war. :)
Kind of a lot of programming, but still. ;)
Don't care too much about the story/writing/characters. The missions are fun though and MP is amazing!
I love the new commentary, it's so great! :D
The Vampires are needing a steak! :D
I laughed quite a lot!
Why didn't you add those screenshots to this news post to spice things up a bit?
Do we apply through the comments here or via PM or somewhere else?
It's intersting to bring more advanced graphical effects to an older engine since it can actually run smoothly when the rest of the engine is so light.
Ground tex is amazing! Nice job!
Awesome, that HQ reminds me of the Carrington Institute in Perfect Dark, I hope it will have the same feeling as well. :)
Looking forward to the next news post!
Chrome 4 is such an awesome engine, is it available just like that to indie devs though?
Wow, looks pretty cool!
It's a gg!
But stupid at times.
I think he's sliding down.
You know you can delete these pictures and still be able to use them right? When you delete it it's only removed from your gallery but the picture itself won't be removed.
Man, people shouldn't be allowed to post comments until a video is processed...
I'm having the same problem, I'm on Win7 64 bit and it says "Using MS SAPI 5.4 (third-party DLL)" in the phoneme editor, I have not installed the MS SAPI 5.1 previously.
I don't get & and ( in the log though, I get some kind of unidentifiable stuff that shows up like this in Notepad++: Media.moddb.com
I'm really excited about getting phoneme extraction to work on Windows 7 and would be more than happy to act as your test subject if you would need that to solve this problem.
I added you on Steam.
Why are so many people so negative towards this!? This is an awesome mod and everyone will be able to play it! What's people's problem!?
You have models, hot!
Raidcall > Teamspeak imho.
Don't know what's going on there, try again later I guess? :)
Hey thanks! Good luck with your game projects as well! Saw your videos on your page, looks very interesting, subbed to your YT channel. :)
I haven't looked into Unity as a level editor, but could be worth a look!
This is all some really sweet looking stuff, well done!
Yes that's true, I'll see if I can jump in and do some fixing up of this at some point later. Thanks for the comment!
Oh yeah, now that I think about it, it kind of looks like osmething from Dark Souls. I do like the character designs in that game. I came up with this design on my own.
Thank you, I haven't really done any high poly work before, so I can't say I'm good at it. But I know the process, so I might do that.
I'll probably work a bit more on this house and render out more images once I feel it's 100% done. Maybe during this summer if I'm not too busy doing other things.
Really nice vid!
It's interesting to hear how you where thinking when creating the map. The colored blocks thing does work very well to lead the player without adding arrows or whatever, I understood right away what they where about when I played the map.
Good job on both maps, they are both really good!
Keep it commin! :)
This is really cool! Looking forward to the next update!
Yeah, the workflow is much better than what I'm used to (Source engine). You can save it and load it up again and send it to other people or whatever you want. :)
All good stuff!
Looking forward to more as always! :)
In any case, that looks pretty nice!
I've heard a lot he's creepy, I'm not sure if that's a good thing! :P
I liked it a lot, this engine is so awesome!
This is so amazing!
I love the blood particle effect! :D
The sparks emitting light looks awesome! Very cool stuff, and it looks like the engine can handle a lot of particles as well!
Look at what files are included man, the NRM part of WoodRough0088_2_NRM.vtf probably means normal.
I guess I could, if anyone wants it they can even have the vmf as I probably won't do anything with this anyway.
I like the sounds, the look and the feeling.
You just need to add a model for when it explodes and stuff like that! It'll be awesome.
This launcher will be very useful, I like the idea of the profiles.
He's talking about baking ambient occlusion, that's not a real time effect. You can do that for example in Blender, what it does is render a static ambient occlusion map that you can overlay onto your normal texture to give it more depth.
Wolfire Games don't have exclusive rights to use a wolf in their name and logo.
I think it's a great idea! Almost any game in a modern setting can make an ad look natural, plus it will be beneficial for two game developers instead of being just some thing.
I would take that offer if I were making a game where it would fit.
The cover art is great! I think it would look even better if the tree just had a fully white background (not with those grey lines).
Really? I think the AI is pretty good as long as you give them options (cover and such).
I'm starting to get more into modeling as well, it's great to have full freedom compared to the limitations you have when mapping. I'm using Blender by the way, it's great.
Uh Crimson Crow? :)
I've seen this somewhere (your blog?) but I can't remember where, it looks cool.
Hot stuff man!
Dragons are fictional creatures, so the dragon's eyes can face in any direction the artist likes. Also, I think it's awesome and would be delighted to try playing a game like that.
Yeah, looks great! :D
This is awesome, great work!
Will you have the static lighting be more blurred like it is in most games today or will they look just like the dynamic ones?
Would be cooler if there were some hardcore mountains in the horizon though. ;)
Or perhaps make a more smooth transition from the ground to the sky?
Minecraft is awesome! I'm so going to buy it when I have some cash to spare. nice river there dude!
Another good thing about switching from DirectX I guess. :)
You also need to up the framerate.
I can highly recommend using the DivX codec for encoding the video file, it's what I use and it delivers amazing quality at a really, really low file size.
You did well!
MTA has always had support for mods.
You're back! :D
So "analytical shapes" are basically boxes? That would explain why ragdoll collision meshes are almost always boxes, because they are faster to calculate with.
Interesting post, looking forward to more!
It makes you look John.
I like it.
It's pretty fun in its current shape, so it'll probably be really fun when it's finally released. This is a game I'm really looking forward to.
I especially like all the small things like how your view model and player model are one, giving you a much better immersion. And how you will keep your gun down if there's no room for your arms in front of you.
Good review, nice length and brings up relevant topics!
Small programs that do a lot of stuff are awesome. Makes me wonder why Photoshop is so damn large...
Looking pretty cool!
This stuff looks pretty ok, might be useful.
Thanks for sharing!
That's pretty damn awesome!
It's kind of hard to see what is what in this picture though, I guess it makes more sense when you play it.
Too bad I don't have a PS3, I've heard that LBP is a good game!
I guess they found out that selling them is illegal...
I played MW2 on the free Steam weekend (but this is MW1, right?). It was great fun I must say, even just in Team Deathmatch. Too bad I'm broke. x(
Here it is: Moddb.com
I'll add that to the description also, no idea why I didn't do that before...
Thanks man, I hope people will find my Flash work useful. :)
Wow, having to resize props every time seems to be a big pain.
That's quite epic I must say! :D
That's pretty damn nice! If you've got any more maps to show off I'd be glad to see them! :)
Oh yes, that's hot!
So much better than your old design!
Good job! Now add that to the description! ;D
Engine supported video recording like that is pretty damn great!
I wanna see that cloth in action! :D
Glad you like them!
Thanks for the comment! :)
I can see it in John's eyes. ;D
You other guys look pretty sober tho. ^^
I loled while making it, thanks! ;D
I used an npc_bullseye that was parented to the moving target and a ai_relationship to make the rebel shoot at it.
It's an awesome game.
Will be waiting for the next update.
That's so awesome, can you squish the peel to squirt that peel juice in your enemies eyes to blind them? That would be a great gameplay element!
I don't like the beginning, but after a little while it sounds better. You should spend a while trying to find instruments that sound good as that is the biggest flaw in this as I see it, the instruments.
This looks nice!
*Waits for DL to be authorized*
JEFF SAYS HI! :D
This is awesome!
Thank you for the requests!
Even though I'm currently doing Hammer, I will take almost any tutorial request.
Yes, this is much better.
It's looking good!
Looking forward to seeing the final version. :)
Yeah good luck, I hope you can get that file running. :/
I support your decision and will eagerly await your first release using OpenGL and SDL. :)
I love both Wolfire and Mode 7! :D
It's good to hear it's going well for you guys. I'm glad to hear you're introducing FoW, I always thought that it would be more fun if you could hide and ambush and such (evil) things.
It's looking really good though, keep it up!
I want a tablet too!
Looks really goood!
That looks nice!
That was an interesting read! I'm looking forward to reading about how you will prevent cheating!
I also want to say that I REALLY appreciate your WYSIWYG approach, too many games don't do that, but now I know of two indie games that are taking that approach so it's pretty exciting. I hope the big companies will be inspired.
Wow that's pretty damn awesome!
It's looking good!
It was fun playing around with it.
You have that impulse thing that sorts your icons. It looks nice.
Welcome, I hope you enjoy your stay! :D
Woo, that was a long video!
You should plan a bit ahead and try to move quicker with these, people's attention span isn't that great. :P
That's not to say I didn't enjoy it though, good job!
That's a good idea, there really are no bad things about this.
That is _A LOT_ of text!
I would like some pictures to spice it up.
I don't think it should say "Bleach" by the player icon though.
Other than that it's looking pretty cool.
It's quite awesome!
I'll keep the foot.
Nice pictures you got here!
Thank you, Microbrush gets my imagination going somehow. I recommend all mappers to try it out!
It's a nice game, really nice!
I want to keep my tutorials focused and then let the mapper decide what to do with it. So I'd rather make many focused tutorials than one tutorial on a loose subject. :)
Normal maps <3
I felt that the part I had most problems with myself when learning this was how to actually place the nodes.
The AI works with the nodes like this:
1. Get a destination.
2. Find the closest node to self and destination.
3. Calculate path between destination and closest node.
4. Go the path.
* It avoids collision with dynamic (physics for example) objects by doing colission test in front of itself all the time, if an object is in the way it will try to go around it.
Is that what you wanted to know?
Thank you Croco!
I see you learned well from my tutorials. :D
That was pretty nice! The difficulty was pretty high but the map is short so that's ok.
Next time you should play around with some lighting also to make it look better, and some quick textures would make it look better too.
Nice, I like the modeling and the music is awesome.
The boxing gloves could use a bit different code though, and more powerful animations.
Haha, that looks pretty damn awesome! :D
The textures could use a bit of work it looks like to me, it just looks messy. The mapping is looking awesome though.
Thank you. :)
After looking at these pictures for a while, I've come to the conclusion that I like this one the most, seems most defined.
The dirt feels a bit too crazy to me, don't overdo it! Overall really nice scene, well done!
Hm, in the Source engine you can run a command that "flattens" the rendering mode (so nothing is in perspective) and basically takes a bunch of pictures of the map from above.
Maybe something similar would be codeable for this?
Looks pretty cool, a minimap will be useful. Will there be an easy way to make a real map over a level, or will we have to rely on taking screenshots or drawing our own maps?
That's actually really cool, wanna see that ingame. :)
He must have got his foruming skillz up to over 9000 or something.
This sounds really interesting!
He might be lost.
Yeah it's meant to just go through the basics.
That you enjoyed just watching it is awesome! Thanks a lot!
It's looking quite cool indeed!
That is a very true statement.
I'm glad I could help you!
It looks pretty awesome, would have been there if I could.
This is starting to looks pretty nice.
I must say this looks very nice, verging on epic.
It looks good!
Yes you can.
Perhaps it would be cool being able to see the sky?
It feels like something is missing, hopefully that feeling will go away once it's done. Looking forward to the next update on this map.
The IRC stuff is super duper awesome. We don't celebrate oktoberfest here in sweden as far as I know. :(
Yeah it sounds pretty nice, it works well with the game itself.
Those props look nice.
I need to see the next stage, duder!
It's looking awesome! I love shadows, especially when they are dynamic! :3
For me it's just a bunch of floating objects. :/
Incredible is the word!
Yeah the graphics are starting to look nice! On the music, I think A Functioning God was much better actually. But on the other hand, this track seems more suitable for a turn based strategy game, it's calmer.
Something I think would add a lot to the graphics is floor in the buildings.
I agree with DangerousCat.
This dude is cool.
Well, like you say fog behaves a little like water, so having fog in high places looks silly and isn't realistic. If you want to put fog on a certain height level in your map you could have long (maybe animated) fog stripes that could slowly flow back and forth. Just an idea.
IMO the fog doesn't look that good, you need to ask yourself if fog really should be a strategic element or just eye candy. You could put out bushes to hide in instead.
Crazy lighting yes, but it's.. Cool! If you can get the AO in there also it'll look awesome!
Wow, you have made some SERIOUS progress! And it all looks awesome too!
This looks like it's actually gonna be a good game! That's rare for a Wii game!
Hehe, abstract was the word! :D
It's looking amazing! Top quality work!
I just wanna be able to click the thumbnails to get a bigger version.
First impression: It looks too brown, and the ground texture looks low res. I like the cliff there.
Wow, gives me Oblivion vibes, and that's a good thing for a mod! I'd like to see more.
Beautiful indeed! That looks so awesome!
Hehe, let's play "The floor is non-exsistent"!
Wow that's looking awesome! Very nice detail for the Gold Source engine.
Wow, that is NICE!
Very interesting engine, you seem to be working very hard on this.
Thanks for telling, I'm sorry for you.
Vid was cool, the explosion looks cool I think, I can't really tell unless it's in the shape of a video. ;)
Congrats on the RPSness!
Horses are a bit scary BTW, so I can understand they warn you. :O
Cool, always nice reading your stuff.
Dude, this version has got EVEN MORE eye candy!!
I like to call it a "mouth".
Nice brush work.
Tone down the bloom intensity a bit, the map looks awesome though, big thumbs up to your mapper/concept artist!
2D gameplay, 3D graphics.
I like the lower one better.
The stuff on the wheels? Yes, cubemap.
It's all looking very nice man! Wanna see how this map turns out.
Yeah! Good luck!
Not much of a request
I didn't notice, it was really well done I'm very impressed!
Wow, this has improved so much since last time I played it, great to see!
Haha awesome! :D
What does the man do at the end? Looks like he's picking something up.
Very well done!
Awesome, I'm hoping you will have come far enough to really show OG off, good luck!
Wow, amazing art! I like the design very much also.
Ofc it's real! :D
Looks super awesome.
Yay! You're such a good guy Henley! ^^
I agree, it looks cool and fits in. Just make sure you make it shiny ^^ .
And when is this double exp weekend you speak of? This weekend?
I did enjoy. :-)
Very long though, didn't watch it all.
It's looking pretty cool! And regarding the arms length, you can always have him let go with one hand as he swing the weapon or something.
I love these, makes it much easier to discover new games and mods.
It's original and it looks cool, I think it'll make more sense to me once it's textured though, good job so far!
It's looking cool, how did you get that rat sword up to such a high polycount though?
This is very interesting, very well done.
Haha, I first saw this game on RPS and it seems like it's gonna be pretty awesome!
Gonna be fun to try it out.
Awesome! That was the most needed fix, too bad most people have already moved on.
Ok then that's just me then. :-P
Hey Slick, if you apologize he might even remove all the pics and stuff. I know I would even if you didn't, but maybe that's just me.
The release date is now TBD, in other words there is no release date estimate.
Awesome man! Gonna get me a ModDB t-shirt some day! ^^
Yes you can do that, change the primitive type from block to something else in the bottom right portion of the interface.
Yes this is my fav weapon when it comes to looks. :-)
Cool music, cool menus, cool laser painting. In one word: Cool.
Wow! That is not only good, it's pretty damn awesome!
I think we should all sue them for spreading lies without remorse.
Seriously, that would be the only way to make them understand research is important.
Looks as awesome as always. Good work.
This was inspiring, especially towards the end. But I expected it to go on for a bit longer, the awesome part had just started.
Dark and moody, I like it a lot.
Try some nice formatting and adding pictures, paragraphs and stuff like that. Makes it more tempting to read it that way.
Oh, this is still going on? I hope this mod will be fun. :-)
Awesome man! :-D
You should write your own messages about these news, it doesn't make sense when it says stuff like "My name is Data, and I approve of this message.", because you're not Data.
I also think ModDB requires all content to be unique and original.
Other than that it's really great you're posting news about CC here.
I read it. :-P
Hi, the current release estimate is Q2 2009, but this is probably going to change. If you want early access to the game you can preorder it from Wolfire.com , an alpha version of the game is released every week for all preorderers to try out.
You actually get access to the map editor and a leaked alpha of the game each week when you preorder, so if you wanna start modding you can start practicing now!
So we're going to be over ground in this game? Or what's this about? Looks awesome in any case.
That's pretty cool.
woho! 10 points to me! :-)
With those small nails!?
I suggest you make those nails longer, unless you have some cool hightech nails that become longer when you shoot them.
Ingame depth of field?
That looks badass. Hmm, isn't a normal gun almost a nail cannon? I mean the bullets are like nails but not as sharp and they are shot away, what makes this more of a nail cannon than a normal gun?
Good to hear youre making progress in the coding department, I'm looking forward to see it in action.
It looks great! The lighting is really cool, maybe a bit too bright? The floor is white by the windows in this screenshot, looks like to much bloom.
It looks awesome.
Very good read, everyone should read it.
Bashing previous team members? I think it looks good!
You can preorder it now to get access to weekly alphas ( Wolfire.com ). It's $29.95 and all money will go directly into making the game ( Blog.wolfire.com ), if you get it on Steam when available though, Valve will get 50% of what you pay, that's hardly ideal if you want to support the indie developers!
These songs are great, why don't you have links to the downloads and players here so you can listen to and download them?
This is starting to look kind of cool!
This is pretty cool, I like how it looks and I will try it out tomorrow, might set up a temporary server too.
I'm amazed by these drawings, the attention to detail is superb! This suit looks so complex, it's gonna be interesting to see it in 3D.
I think I'll use these skins, but the others look awesome as well so I'm not sure.
I most certainly enjoyed this little small update. The knockout mode is what I'm most excited about actually. I'm wondering how well it'll work ingame though, it might just be annoying if it's too fast paced. Time will tell, nice update.
Are all those buildings used or are they just props?
Wow, awesome maps! Gonna have to check all of them out! :-O
No, preorder now!
Yes you will! ^^
Nice to see things shaping up.
Driving a Harley in a HL2 mod? Hell yeah! :-D
This looks really good! It's gonna be great playing a real RPG in the Source engine!
It's written in Java so I don't think I can make it into an exe. I packed it into a jar file though so you should just have to double click HUC.jar to launch it.
Thank you for trying it out! ^^
Nice! You always find ways to improve FoF, the latest version was very impressive. I'm gonna have to try this one out too!
It looks exactly like him. Very, very nice work!
Indeed it is, looks really great!
Keep it up! :-D
Great update, I might play some ZPS soon it seems!
Woah hi dude!
Just tell me when you need help with that mapping, I'd be more than glad to help! :-D
Seriously, give him a break, he's already said he's NOT doing it!!
Skeletons, very scary :-P .
The sample is just static. :-(
I would like to see that shader applied to a character model, it's hard to see how it looks otherwise.
This is a nice idea! It's good because if they would do a small amount of damage noone would use them and if they did more damage they would be to important in battle. *Thumbs up*
Oh this is much more helpful than the original descriptions, thanks!
I hope the combat will be fun, I have to admit it doesn't look like much fun at the moment, only time can tell me wrong.
I'm really looking forward to this mod! I like your decisions.
Spikes! I love it!!!
Nice one! It's very good that you can adjust the monsters that much!
Off topic: Lol @ the preview pic: "West side!"
Wow awesome map so far!
I agree, best looking screenie so far.
"huzzah" indeed, that looks pretty cool.
Indeed, nice read.
I can see them!!!
Cool, I'm really looking forward to your mod, I always like it when the modders try to do something special. :-)
Looks better with some foliage.
Very informative post, thank you! Sounds like it's gonna be an awesome game, looking forward to it!
To say the least, that looks awesome!
The knockout system seems especially awesome!
Awesome, will hiding be a big part then?
Awesome update! Sentinel will be a superb tool, I'm really looking forward to the next update!
Looks cool, very nice for a WIP!
"wow" indeed, this is a very great update which might bring my PR interest back! :-D
What do you mean with that the moon is a cloudbox? And yes, the moon seem kind of big :-P .
I like the light on the right, this is gonna look super once it's done!
This gun looks awesome!
Hmm, I don't really like how it goes down like that by the sights though.
You should upload it to ModDB for increased quality ;-) .
Yup ^^, not many servers though but I hope some more will come soon, it's a great mod and very small so it's well worth the DL.
It looks cool but it's kinda hard to see the scale, you couldn't place a dude right next to it for reference?
It looks like a lot of empty space in The Rhino's Horn, wouldn't the logical thing to do be to protect the fat cables for the gun? Or if they get hot, maybe some kind of cooling system?
Wow great tutorial, I'm looking forward to the next one!
Why 1024x768? You should make one for each aspect ratio and they should be as big as possible. I don't even know anyone who has a 1024x768 monitor anymore.
This sounds cool, good luck!
I agree with Mutant1988, and the lighting shouldn't be too hard, I never tried for the Gold Source engine though, but for the Source engine it's very easy (just put a light_environment and then change its settings).
GJ on the map.
And if I where you I'd try to mess around with the textures to try to make it look like sand for example without taking the cartoon feel away, it looks a bit plain IMO, same with the platform floor.
Looks pretty cool.
I'm glad there isn't more detail to that picture! :-S
I would help you if I played/had 1.6. :-/
You finished it, nice! I'll PM you later when I have time to test it with you!
So it's kinda like Sim City?
This one is VERY good!
Doesn't the sky_camera give its output from the center of the map (The center of the map = the place the sky_camera is, sort of)? And maybe you should mention that everything is 1/16th of it's original size in a 3D skybox?
I guess it's an ok tutorial but it's too shallow in my eyes.
I'm pretty sure you're right that like only four people are reading this, I think they will make it easier for people to find blogs here soon.
The jumping looks good, I'm not sure I like being able to double jump though but I think you know what you're doing.
Wow, it really looks drawn, looking great so far!
And what is the cloud under the portrait for? :-P
Nice update! :-)
Yes it is.
The map looks amazing, nice update.
Wow nice map!
Here I can see the difference!
I hope you don't mind me commenting on all your blog posts... Not like you can do anything about it, but anyways :-P .
I agree with you, RTS & FPS is fun, I also play Spring from time to time. HL is the awesomest franchise indeed, not since Starcraft though, I don't like Starcraft, I think I was introduced too late.
The quote at the end is true. It seems hard to choose a nice leader though... I'm still waiting for Sweden to become a democracy (for real)...
You could just have made 200 spaces or something :-P . I on the other hand have a 2000 character LIMIT, now that's unfair!
PS: Platinum Arts FTW!
I don't usually read stuff like this but this was good!
Lol I came across someone that shares my opinion entirely!
People are stupid, when they get to know you think like this they instantly think you're emo or something. It's like they think that just because you think everyone's existance is pointless (as I do), you are not a human anymore. I obviously still have the same need to do stuff and to make the best of the time I have here.
It's such a huge coincidence I found this blog post, and it was posted like yesterday... Epic, now I'm gonna have to watch you... (Lol not like a stalker, I just press the "Track this member" link to the right, how would you even think something like that? :-S )
Cool, I wonder what he will come up with. :-)
This game is great, check it out!
Cool effect, I wonder how it looks in real time though *hint* *hint*. ;-)
Ok then, I guess I'll have to go for other upgrades instead then! :-)
This is a mod for Half-Life, I don't think they have a release date yet. I'm really looking forward to this game, I will have to buy HL!
If you're doing it every Saturday it's fine, the free weekends for TF2 only happens when they release a new update, so Saturdays are fine.
It is great.
Fixed the regeneration bug yet?
This looks great!
I think the door looks good but the floor seems to be too bumpy and the walls are too shiny IMO.
You shouldn't see these kinds of adverts as a bad thing, you're only helpng people since you get them work, and that's what a modder wants :-) .
Looks great keep it up.
Very good looking!
He looks like a retard, but he's a zombie so I guess that's ok.
I'd make him look weaker, more broken and old but it looks good anyways.
Everything looks like crap but I know that you have put alot into this and it's all WIP so really GJ! :-D
BTW is that plane 3D?
This game is the best! Go CI!
The bloom strikes back!
I think they're deep enough into the wall, maybe it's just a matter of taste? It would be coolest if they all didn't go equally deep into the wall.
I found the date, I'm pretty sure of it :-) .
Fighting monsters sounds really cool, looking forward to the vid! At first I thought this mod was going to be another WC3-RPG mod, but this is gonna be something special!
The Pansarskott looks nice but the Husqvarna 1907 looks very boxy and flat. Ok update.
If this is in early development now, the final game will be awesome!
It's version 1.0!! DLing NOW! :-D
It's made to make it easier to convert stuff, so if you know the room is 20 feet long, you would write 20 in the field and then push the "feet" button on the left and the "units" button on the right and then you would get what 20 feet is in units that can be used in Hammer. Of course it can be used to convert from and to inches and feet if you want to.
Cool looking dudes!
I wanted to see the full size pictures, the links on the pictures on your homepage link to completely different pictures than they are supposed to. I thought your homepage was really cool though and then the pics linked wrong and I became really frustrated because I really wanted the full size ones.
Woah! The Spring engine! Isn't that a RTS engine, not RPG? GL anyways!
Looks like you messed with the mic/speaker system on the map? If that's it, it shouldn't be too hard to fix.
This mapper knows how to make a cool jungle!
Yeah, thick vegetation, I like it a lot!
Sounds from "A Scanner Darkly"? Why?
He's gonna fall!
rofl indeed, tell me if it's any good mk? :-)
So it's playable now? It's a nice mod, it sucks it was unplayable for such a long time. I hope there are players and servers where I have good ping!
Nice spell effect! Nice GUI concept!
What's that square thing in the sky above the mountain? Looks like you're trying to hide something ;-) .
It's a reflection! Cool...
Nice indeed, the SCAR is a very nice weapon, that picture is really nice.
No problem, a new one each sunday eh? Looks like I'll be changing wallpapers often the comming weeks :-) .
Indeed! This one looks grrrrreeat!
I remember using this gun in Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield not long ago... It sucked :-P .
Ahh, 1280x1024 is nice, Thanks! :-)
You character concepts are really cool.
All three maps here look like crap in comparison to your model (in camparison to a normal map too), I really think you need a better mapper to keep an even quality.
Sounds interesting but maybe a link to a site or something? You need any mappers/coders/texture artists etc.?
Woah those are looking great!
Hahihoho :-D .
I think it's the one to the right :-P .
I love all theese new decals :-D .
Nice, looks exactly like the 2d drawing.
Is that pic taken with a camera? It looks like that but if it isn't, you got a nice filter there :-) .
It's a game, not a mod ;-) .
Yeah! Looking good, somewhat like I expected it. It looks though like you have very much air control which would make the game too easy I think, takes away much of the planning and stuff, but other than that great vid! :-)
Cool, so it'll be like a chat application? Will you be able to do anything other than chatting?
This all by the same guy?
The first part hurt my ears.
The second part was hm ok.
The third part was good (I would listen to music like that one).
I hope you won't have all three on the homepage, it sounds like three different songs.
Thanks for the answer!
Requires TF2? :-(
Will this dependency be removed later?
It's a picture, it isn't animated x-) .
Looks great! Hehe, almost like "insert tires here" sockets ^^ .
Woah! This is gonna be great, good luck!
Oh there it is again!
Quite indeed, I'm looking forward to dying in this game cuz then I will become blingbling, even just for a moment.
Maybe it's just mysterious looking? :-)
Woow you get to parachute? That's awesomeness class 1!
Could be the angle tho...
Whoa! Is this like alien x-ray view? Looks awesome!
Niceley done man!
Is he giving someone the finger? Thats rude.
