Hey I'm Silverfang, I like to play games quite a bit on the computer and my xbox, I listen to many kinds of music including (but not limited to) metal, dubstep, and djent (is that metal?). Feel free to add me on XFire, AIm, MSN, Steam, or XBL.
Porting models to other games is against almost all game's EULA (End User License Agreement) which has restrictions on what you can legally do and cannot do. And just because SOPA/PIPA failed doesn't mean copyright law suddenly doesn't exist anymore, those were just attempts to stop pirating in ways that were blown out of proportion and would allow corporations to take control over the internet.
I'm personally against any ported content especially since so much of it is /without/ the creator's knowledge or permission, it's often done badly and doesn't work as normal content would, hell sometimes the original creators don't even get credit. I'm not saying that this is the case, but never the less this file is 100% ILlegal.
I'm not saying the author is a "thief" or a "loser" I'm saying this is a terrible file because it's just a rip from hl2, which could easily be recreated in a couple weeks of learning and effort 100% legally and wouldn't cause a commotion about copyright or porting.
1/10 for porting a model
We've got texture artists, we just need moar content :P
He's not playing as the ninja, otherwise, it would use your ninja icon :P
There will probably be small icons + stats for each weapon when you select them.
I think someone actually made a tatooine-themed de_dust2 map for JKA actually ;o
I'll have to look into that. :P
heh, I think the position needs to be adjusted a little, and I think I'll remove "SMG" so it's just FN P90 PDW. I like how it turned out though :D
Oh I thought you meant player skins, barley any of the guns are actually UV Mapped which is why most of them use flat colors instead of textures (it's a better alternative than gray/white grid missing texture)
care to elaborate?
Feel free to make some :P
Just exported and wrote out (in the weapons.txt) the 30th weapon in Gunslinger's Academy :D
We'll be recording and posting videos soon enough. In the mean time, you could buy JKA on steam or something :P
Eh, scratch that, lost interest not long after starting it.
Check your BaseGA folder and send us a crash report and we'll sort out the details (it's located in your baseGA folder, baseGA/GSA-XXCrashlog_(date).log) where XX is CL or SV, and (date) is when the crash occurred, you can use www.pastebin.com to paste the contents of the crash log and send us the link (you should set it as private as opposed to public)
Suibuku is already planning on redoing all the stock textures J3rk used when he originally made the map.
Maybe, and whatever fits the theme, gang members, soldiers, terrorists, etc.
I heard a really good argument about how to stop online piracy, you don't try to brute force your way to stopping it, you provide a better service than looking for a torrent and downloading it with the chance of getting a virus or the wrong thing. Stuff like Steam, iTunes, Onlive, grooveshark, etc etc etc.
This bill isn't about stopping piracy, it's about controlling the internet.
Some white fog + a glow shader on the white background might make for a nice addition to the look.
This is actually outdated now, the new version has more detail.
hah, compare this to the one we showed back in September, 2010!
F r a n c h i R e n a i s s a n c e. :P
Any old mod should work with the Steam version of Jedi Academy, just find your gamedata folder in steamapps under the Jedi Academy folder. Also, stay tuned. We should be putting up a new version (far better than any current downloads) soon :)
I bet you anything that's actually their plan :p
It would be awesome if the level you used the gauss-2 on had high destructibility, so you could shoot a support column to bring a portion of a building down on a strider or group of enemies.
AK-47s are a really nice design, very rugged. Honestly if they added some pitcanny rails... maybe some lights... maybe an ammo indicator and new materials and it would fit right in. Then again this isn't far in the future, maybe therw will be a sort of elite military that uses new... futuristic looking weapons like this pistol, while people that don't have access to such new technology have to smuggle old weaponry like kalashnikovs and other rifles.
Perhaps you're fighting some flame boomers then? :D (I've been playing too much Gears of War...)
As eezstreet said earlier in the comments
eezstreet wrote:We take cues from a lot more than just Call of Duty. We have a lot of influences, ranging from Call of Duty to Unreal Tournament to Left 4 Dead. Sure, we're a standalone mod, but the goal of the mod is to provide a sort of blended game experience from all sorts of different FPSes to provide a familiar FPS experience, yet maintain our identity with a number of small stylistic twists to the game, notably our choice of gametypes among other things.
