realistically you would judge the terrain further a ahead and look when you have to. There is a little too much head-shake at the moment but this takes time to get right. But the same applies in realism as when you are running you will shake quite a bit, and realistically you would have to stop to get a still view and observe your surroundings. The helmet view plays very well as you will see, it does take a little getting used to though, but its upto you if you want that much realism. If not just stick to first person mode which the game was originally designed for.
Co-op and versus multiplayer will be available in the beta, the alpha is only single player.
Do you mean in third person view you are having trouble? or do you mean the new helmet view in the video?
if you have any problems with the game crashing, please elaborate a little more so we can get to the bottom of the problem. As Palanduss said it would be a great help to know your specs. And what point did the game crash? Did you try any of the 3 different game modes? Feedback is crucial to eliminate these problems.
The new alpha which will be available has been optimised and should play much better on lower end and medium machines.
The helmet view is has only had 2 days of development. More will be done on this when we have the funding to Get the Oculus Rift dev kit and work further on this aspect.
There are still a few changes to be made to the helmet yet, but the view is attached to the players eyes on the model and represents the view correctly with terms of placement. Still much work to be done and you will be slightly swaying inside of your helmet as well.
The helmet view will be in the next alpha release!
When we get 100 likes on our facebook page then we will release this free on Desura Mid July
Yeah I am sorry about that, just griping. 8 months down the line and I am at the stage where I need funding, and it is not going well. Just trying to re-iterate the fact that funding is urgently required and the second attempt of crowd funding is still going no where.
Cheers, I was doing some searching last night and came across the angry joe forum. I was going to post something myself but couldn't register, kept asking me for money lol.
Why i am struggling with just 25k funding I don't know. I got to 4% of that on Kickstarter and indieGoGo is not even going to reach that compared to its trend.
In the last bid to save this game I am showing off the helmet mode and a the totally redone alpha as suggested in the feedback. I have 3000 hours invested in this and now on steam there are people saying they are willing to play it if its free. It will take me another 2k hours at least to get to to the beta stage on Halloween so if I still not have managed to get funding or support in spending thousands of hours of my time I will be looking at publishers to take the game further.
I will be releasing alpha 0.36 as in some of the promo material you are going to see in the hope that i can get some funding. Up-to now i have received £250 in total for pre-orders and would happily refund that knowing that i will spend another 3k at least to get the game finished and then i can not even release it. I would rather get a job and pay the pre-orders back with half a weeks wages than work 100+ hours a week for the next 8 months with so many uncertainties. If people prefer to put money on an idea by someone has has never worked in the industry then its time for me to move onto the film industry with my VFX. People don't realize that I am spending 100+ a week on this and sacrificing an income of a job. I am hoping people are just waiting till the end of the month but time will tell.
Yeah, In story mode there will be a few zero gravity decks, and there may even be some multiplayer zero g action :)
Keep an eye out for a peek at alpha V0.36 - Featuring a third view! Real first person Helmet view. Its awesome and I cant wait to get the Oculus Rift Dev kit! WHEN WE FINALLY GET SOME FUNDING, A Zero budget is a huge draw back! :)
The Story mode (free roaming) is only single player. The onslaught, simulation and some challenges are multiplayer :)
Ah sorry. The story mode is single player free roamer, in the alpha you play 1 of the 3 characters on 4 decks of the 21 on the ship. In the full game there will also be the colony and space station as well as the other 17 decks. The alpha also includes 2 maps in Onslaught mode, and 2 maps in Challenge mode :) Multiplayer Onslaught and simulation should be working by the beta release on Halloween.
The ship has 21 decks, you see 4 in the alpha. There are 4 decks which are in almost total darkness like the one in the new screenshots (Deck 5 Personnel). Be extra careful in the dark :)
Single player in the alpha, multiplayer will be in beta and full release :)
not many then ?
\Not long to go, I am sure you will enjoy it :)
Sorry about the controls, the beta will have full control customization and the option to invert :)
Ghosthip demo coming soon To desura - Support The IndieGoGo Campaign

Hi Guest, don't know your name sorry, have you found any more weapons which which are automatic yet? Laser rifles, plasma rifles, smg`s, mini-gun in the alpha, hope you have found some of them :)
its 2.6gb Huge alpha, bigger than some full releases, so have fun :) If you like it please help spread the word !
As with the map, the map is meant to be this way. You have been spoon fed too much over the years with regards to maps, pinpointing your location and way-points. The map system in Ghostship is a little realistic and requires you to do more work. You have to look at your surroundings then work out where you are and where you want to go. It is a big ship but the navigation of it is quite easy really once you get use to it. Basically the Main Access corridor and Sub Access corridor link up all main 3 sections of the ship. Each section is comprised of decks where you use the stairs or elevators to move between the decks in a section of the ship.
Well nearly all of what you have said is going to be in the game. There are 7 different ways you can escape the ship, and some ways may require other survivors help. There will be lots of things which will happen through out the game, and many options where can chose not to or to do something wich will affect your game in a big way. Lots of stuff really. There are lots more weapons in the alpha, you have to find them. There will be a big updated alpha released in Mid July so keep an eye out for it :) Glad you are having fun. Dont forget to try out the onslaught mode and challenge mode for some extra and different fun.
Hi, glad you are enjoying it, looks like you have not found of the other weapons yet. SMGs, Miniguns, Rifles etc, some with lazer sights, some with tac lights. Please play a little more and try and find some of the other weapons. The alpha story mode is quite big, taking the lock-down off on the bridge is only the start of the alpha, that's when the alpha starts to get fun :)
There are different types of aliens after that point and don't forget to try out the 2 challenges on challenge mode - Just to the end of the hall & Scavenger. Also the Onslaught maps - Hangar 2 & Medical are fun.
There is still much to do on the game yet and still many improvements to be made. Thanks for your feedback.
Hi, I have tried that using uTorrent, have set it up and tried seeding it but i could not get it to work, something i am probably doing wrong as I am unfamiliar with it. If anyone can do it from there end that would be great and I give you my permission to do so. If anyone can get it working as a torrent let me know and i will post the link. I am trying again at the moment to get it up here on desura for tomorrow so I will keep you posted.
Anyone made it to the end of the hall ?
They sense, they don't see. When designing these aliens i wanted to make them totally alien, not like most of the humanoid style aliens we see today. I wanted my aliens to have a more non human look, so rather than the standard 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 eyes, 1 head etc I made each one a little different, some have arms, some have wings, some have 4 legs they are all quite different, and the new anims make them look much better. The type 2 aliens are a little more humanoid though, but they are a surprise :)
Thanks :) Hope you enjoy the alpha :) I will be releasing an update at end of the month with some fixes and some more content. I hope to get the Oculus rift dev kit asap so i can make an alpha which is fully working with oculus rift :)
These are very different in-game. did you try the alpha? Its available for download! Go to the Ghostship web site for download info and mirrors/links.
These are the type 1 aliens, The type 2 aliens are a totally different design and totally different alien. But these are a surprise and are heavily story-line related. Apart from these you will have human enemies as well.
I asked for help with characters as I am no character artists, but with no help i have no choice but to do them myself, try them in-game first and you will see they are a lot more scary in battle lol!
Hi, i don't have a native linux version, i don't have linux on any of machines at the moment. I am quite in the dark with linux to be honest, i have only ever used windows and mac. So if you would like to have a chat about this and maybe give me some advice on linux that would be great. my e-mail is - firstname.lastname@example.org send me a mail and we can have a chat through skype when you get time.
I really want to offer Ghostship to linux and I will do all i can at my end with my lack of knowledge on the subject.
Great :) Hope you have lots more fun, and don't forget to check out the hints and tips thread in the Ghostship Forums.
