That's why it's only a community-made workaround, we're still working on a proper solution in form of a hotfix, which will support mounting VPKs.
Sadly our time to work on free projects like OC is very limited so it takes longer than we'd like.

This fix works around the broken game mounting system, which was caused by Valve updating their games to Steampipe.

That really was long ago. :P The official servers had a lot of admins that weren't part of the development team at that time, you might have been banned for an unjust reason then.
All bans older than a year have been deleted for that reason, so if you ever want to play on the official server again, you should be able to. :)

It's not really dead, there's simply a lack of time.
The biggest problem is that no one has been able to actively work on the code for quite some time now, and with all the updates that happened, like Steampipe, SDK Base 2013 etc, more work piles up, making it more difficult to keep up with the little time we have.

The recoil animations not working properly is a general bug affecting all weapons, which we still haven't figured out yet.
The ironsights will make use of the new dynamic scope feature. :P

Recoil and damage is on the todo list, spread can already be changed.
Ironsights can be set up ingame with the ironsight_adjust_* CVARs.

Dynamic scopes can be added to every weapon by modifying the weapon model, and yes, we are planning to add them to all the scoped weapons.

No, they both have their own grenades and the SMG1 will still be the same.

OC was released long before Human Error, so they are completely our work. Plus, our Manhacks actually aren't controllable but instead are deployable, AI-controlled Manhacks on the player's side.
