Square-enix best music composer
I am always in good term with music, especially video game music. What else to expect from a former hardcore gamer like me? I will tell you, comrade.
Well, behind good games there are always great artist. It's true, not only the concept, stryline, awesome 3 dimensional character and outstanding animation in every damn cinematics. But don't forget about the composer who created the music (battle, background, cinematic, etc)
I wont say much because there are lots of composer i truly respected. This time i will show you about my 5 favorite composers in Square-Enix (formerly Squaresoft ~ Square). Begin from the last number:
#5 Masashi Hamauzu
Played Final Fantasy VII or perhaps Final Fantasy X or maybe the latest XIII ? This is a person who responsible creating some music in those games.
One among the legendary composer in Square-enix. His piano play in some part is awesome. And you who played the legendary Final fantasy VII should know this person. Good composer are always behind good games. Everybody agreed.
#4 Hayato Matsuo
Yeah, another LEGENDARY one. But i respectively recognized him with his involvement in most part of music in the game "Front Mission 3". Ever played that game? No? For gamer who lived in 1998 - today you should know the legendary and the best recognized game (Front Mission 3).
His music played well in every section of the game. He also did some orchestral composition for different games too (Like Final Fantasy XII). But i easily remembered his song well in the old psx games.
#3 Hidenori Iwasaki
Going to my 3rd favorite Square-enix composer. Here we are. Hidenori Iwasaki, yeah he is composer for my favorite all-the-time-ps2-game Front Mission 5 (prequel to legendary Front Mission 3). Been playin that playstation 2 game few hours and his music are always nice to hear.
From Battle background music to menu. That damned boss in Cambodia hard stage, and also the final stage music are way too awesome. Filled with strong courage, and feeling (Feel to kick some damn thug-in-armored-wanzer). I played few of them in the morning to raise the mood, always.
#2 Nobuo Uematsu
Wohoo. He is the real bad ass composer ever existed in Square-enix. His masterpiece always comes in EVERY damn Final Fantasy series. A die hard final fantasy fan MUST know this very existence. Seriously.
Throughout his 25 years in the industry, Uematsu has evidently made a connection with gamers through his heartfelt melodies and his music continues to be enjoyed by millions.Hey, he is the MAN!!
#1 Yatsunori Mitsuda
Yeah, at last we came to the #1 of my favorite Square-enix composer. I save the last because he deserved the number 1 position. Yeah, the last and the best. Maybe people will ask why Nobuo Uematso only ranked 2 in my favorite. Fine, i will tell you. I recognized him because of his involvement in Xenogear music. Xenogear, is a psx game released in 1998. His orchestral composition is damn touching.
Every music of his compisiton always fits every scene, lots emotion. Play the first disc of the game and hear his masterpiece. People recognized Nobuo Uematso the most, but for me, he is the best among them. And who can't forgot the legendary "Chu Chu" song and "Gathering Stars in the Night Sky" song. There are some talented people who played these song in Youtube and they are awesome!!! (Those people are or aren't gamer). Well, Yatsunori-san, you deserved my respect the most.
They are the great composer from favorite games in one legendary developer : Square-enix. Most game are from PSX era to Playstation 2 era. Even though their latest game didn't have charm the most to me, since Final Fantasy XIII released.
