actually i find that using videos i have to repeat steps and go over stuff
you cant really move at you own pace you have to keep pausing and if you forget to pause or the tutor keeps moving quickly i have to track back through the slide bar and find the right spot
also theirs a problem with quality a lot of the videos i have used have been bad quality
also accents can be a problem

i think they may have to be compiled into an actually game system instead of running off the ut3 system
so from now on most of the unreal engine stuff will be an indie game but i don't know if anyone's gonna bother with previous mods
and if their is a mod that contains or uses any commercial resources (models sounds etc) then they must be removed before its released as an indie game
other wise the producers wont be happy

but yes as long as its full conversion

most of the reason why i get a slow speed is because the servers i connect to are foreign and i get pushed down to 256kb max
but my local speed (Aussie servers) is 1.0 mbs and even then thats rare that i get above 800 kbs
i HATE you telstra

i reckon it would have been better as a 3D side scroller
the exact same game just with the camera facing the side of the player with modified maps
like ut3 2d

IM AM NOT PLEASED
left for dead 2 might no be released in Australia (which usually means it definitely wont)

if they were to release it as an expansion or update rather than a standalone it would have a much better chance on getting the OK
but of course the main focus is gonna be on the console games :(

its pretty weird once you follow valves history
really they always used the quake engine in their games

they started with this mod (Team Fortress) on the quake engine

Half life is a modified Quake 2 engine in which many other games rooted from this engine
over the years of making HL and HL2 it was so modified it became another engine of its own

~QUOTE~Source distantly originates from the GoldSrc engine, itself a heavily modified version of John D. Carmack's original Quake engine
