It's their game, they can interpret slender any way they want. Steven Spielberg didn't change his raptors in "Jurassic Park" just because they were incorrect to paleontologists.

People need to understand that the dev team is not a professional company, they have other jobs, lives, and family's, for the most part it was probably done on spare time. It's free so don't complain about it. The graphics are fine, the sound track is amazing, game play is just as amazing as it was in 96, and they added and removed things to enhance the experience. All in all I'd rate it 8.5 as a retail game if it came out today.
