New to the development scene. My ideas are unconventional, and sometimes even original ^.^ I want to make fun games. Games people like to pickup and play again and again. *shamelessly pushes a copy of tactics back into its case* The kind of games that when you finish, you think wow, that was awesome. Now if I can just figure out a way to get paid doing that...

Hi, I recently stumbled onto this project. Looks amazing so far, but I'm looking for a planned feature list, like those seen on the back cover of so many games. Could you add one to your summery at some point?

IE:
Craft over 1 million items.
Defeat over 45 creatures and bosses.
Create your own kingdom.
Open world representing around 1 billion kilometers.
Magic and combats systems including Blah blah blah.
etc.

I just want to get a feel for whats in the future for this project now that I'm tracking ^.^

I have to say, I love your take on the standard tutorial. This adaptive tutor is the obvious but, never seen before successor. Very astute, I honestly had never thought too hard about that particular element, and I praise you for taking your time to re imagine the details.

Your engine is beautiful. The screenshots are awesome but I honestly would like to see some posts in the direction of something playable game-wise. If you are not there yet, its no worries. I love what I see so far.

Excellent article regarding the use of 'scare tactics' in gaming. I had never previously given the particular elements much thought but, this breaks it down simply. Dino Crisis was another such game, they kept you low on health, low on ammo, raptors burst from the ceiling and start tearing into your arm. Suspense and scare, sounds like thudding in vents kept me on edge for hours... even in the office the next day I jumped when the vents turned on. Kudos to you guys for actually doing the math, and being willing to teach the rest of us!

Seems like some barbarian just jammed/strapped a bunch of random junk onto his spear so he could club people to death with it. I love it! Very neat idea with the hoof-pommel. I'm not sure what the other bits actually are but, that in itself lends a certain character to it. I've heard the unreal 4 engine supports a level of graphic fidelity that makes artist drool...

So i guess the only question (not being critical btw ^.^) is: will there be more in the way of texturing and light-mapping or do you plan to stick with the basic shiny defuse for a lightweight clean look?

I've a good enough grasp of the solutions involved in this. A whole lot of effort, that is often unappreciated. I applaud you for this, Keep rollin Captain, you deserve to be rich for the insane amount of effort you've poured into this project. You are amazing, don't forget it!

lol Seriously though, great first model. Can we count on the armor autoadjusting or will there be female specific armors? Just wondering at the clutter level of the inventories. I'm worried because I plan on buying the hell out of this game someday.

Since time immemorial the kingdoms of men have chosen animals to represent their families and adorn their crests and coins. Men found that hope was a precious thing, and found themselves unable to trust even the earth itself with its care. They moved skywards and found themselves surrounded not by the fox or stag but, by the fauna who already called the clouds their home. In time they took the avians as their crests and coins, representing the freed spirits of mankind.

I think you'll find using this system in normal conversation sounds solid.

I paid the boy a few Larks to take care of my horse.

Twenty Silver Prions I paid for these shoes, aren't they lovely?

A hundred Golden Eagles to the man who brings me his head!

What do you think?

Pretty cool to be sure. I just tripped across this project, are you planning melee weapons and TPV option as well? If so the flexibility of your movement system would allow for jaw-dropping animations. I'd basically be shelling out whatever you wanted for a copy, and spend my time running about like some kinda of Jackie Chan on roids cutting people up and shooting people from mid-flip 20 feet off a wall. Definitely tracking.

If you look at the psychology of games I think you'll find that not many people actually get a kick out of sifting through hundreds of items. Moreover I can think of many games that have failed due to clunky or overlarge inventory systems. Encumbrance encourages a item light inventory. Kiss rule applies here.

You can spend weeks coming up with a craft system with a thousand regents and the graphics for them, or you can have just a few regents and just vary the outcomes to what you actually will use in game. Not a soul complains about Vespene gas and Minerals, but you always here about wow players complaining at their inventories being clogged.

Don't make work for yourself where it won't pay off. Add encumbrance and keep the inventory light. People love making working systems though, and having to move about resources to fuel this or that project with robots would definitely add a sense of accomplishment when it all works correctly. In fact there is a whole genre of games that are just about that concept of creating working systems, and they do just fine on the market >.-

Just my two cents.

Also the SDK you are proposing, I think the idea is brilliant. I would request a feature by which the dev could add "packs" of models for clothes and characters, and some modeling conventions to standardize the whole thing. That way if you pick a convention, you can mix and match the "packs" that correspond. Otherwise everyone will follow their own conventions and the packs would only be useful on their particular set. Thanks for reading this wall of text and keep on working on this amazing project. I'll continue to follow.

I was a fan of the original Sacrifice and I'm very excited about this game. However the original lacked some things I would really like to see.

-more buildings, especially for defense.
-Flying units never really felt like they were flying, just hovering near the ground.
-RPG elements, The ones they did include were clunky, however I think I heard you say there would be some.

Some of your changes such as mounts and transformation sound wonderful. I'm definitely tracking.

As a statement I feel like this game will go over a lot of heads. However I appreciate you making it in spite of def ears. I wish i was the type of gamer who gets a dopamine release on pointless stats and achievements, because I'd be much more entertained by today's drivel.

Have a absolutely fantastic day.

Finished reading. I do not envy your programming staff the process of setting up the grammatical syntax or the baseline words and their synonyms to make this work. However it was a really nice read and exactly what I was hoping for. More people need to know about this gem. Thank you for sharing.

Its only 30 bucks... if this game's play is half as fun as it looks I'd be willing to shell out more for it. It looks FUN, which is something most AAA games don't get anymore.

If that wasn't doctored I must save its impressive. The speech recognition combined with the interactive AI will be worth a boatload even if the game doesn't catch on, assuming its actually intelligently interpreting the player's input. I'm very intrigued, I'd love to see a basic float chart of how it goes about interpreting spoken language.
