thanks but we're already working on a new project called C.O.D.E., we can't really reveal more at the moment as we are looking to keep things under lock and key. Just know we are working on it :)
We'll be back in the form of a new mod! If you track blackout studios you will find out about it first. And we also still have all the files for TF, so you never know, it just might rise from the ashes at some point :)
sadly that is the case. but as mentioned in the article, we have learnt from our mistakes and already now, in the new mod project, are taking actions to make sure they don't happen again.
can you release a version of the installer where I manually have to show the location of C&C3? It can't seem to locate it on its own and just bombs out. I already tried reinstalling c&c3 again, and also put the installer in the same directory, it still can't locate it.
if you can't release a version where we manually can locate the directory.. can you maybe help out otherwise? Is anybody else having these probs?
love the merchandise :) I hope ppl will buy it, as it's a great way to support the development teams' efforts. After all, working all day and all night on a free game (especially one of this calibre) isn't the easiest thing to do.
fantastic looking mod.. haven't really given this too much attention, but I think I will definitely cram out my old cnc3 copy to give this little gem a whirl.
another tough one. my personal favourite would have to be mount & blade, simply because I loved the feel of the game and it reminded me of my favorite childhood game - Conqueror AD 1086.
However, realistically speaking, I can see this award going to savage 2. The amount of work that was put into the top notch graphics, fantastic gameplay quality, the fast paced action and essentially the originality of the game make this a very strong contender.
None the less we shouldn't lose sight of celestial impact, they have already bagged most innovative multiplayer. I somewhat doubt that warlord will win, simply because their game is very similar to their mod and that sadly didn't last too long.
The only game I am rather unfamiliar with is Live for Speed, hwoever from the info I got on it from their profile, it looks like a fun game. But will it be strong enough to compete?
absolutely loving the podcasts. I've been inactive for a while (been hiding away to work on the design doc for a new HL2 mod project) and I've only just come across these podcasts fairly recently. Great work and keep up the fantastic work you are doing!
congrats on the award. very well done and most defintily deserved. keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward to finding this title under my installed games tab :)
as expected, zeno clash won this award. Very well deserved and I'm looking forward to the release. Although I still stick with my reserves that I fear it might get repetitive quite soon, but that won't stop me from trying it anyway.
I wonder how close the call between zeno clash and infinity was, as I believe those two were the top contenders in this category.
I need to revise my statement from before.. Taking a closer look at zeno clash. I am no so sure about Infinity taking this award. They have shown too little in comparison and zeno clash looks amazingly polished, perfect art direction, fantastic gameplay feel and generally very professionally put together. The only critique I could provide is that it looks like it will be rather repetitive. But we shall see.
This is a tough one to call. Generally all indie games I have seen so far have put in tremendous efforts and aim for originality and a high standard in their own rights.
My personal favorite would be infinity for a number of reasons, their immense gameplay mechanics, the freedom they'll offer players, the graphics, the detail, etc. However, all of the other nominations have something that makes them stand out, so I think this could be a real head-to-head race. I'm looking forward to the results!
couldn't have agreed more. Of course it'd be fantastic if everyone would win at the awards, let alone get nominated for them - but the fact of the matter is, that simply isn't possible. (Otherwise, what is the point in the awards anyway?) So it's just natural that not everyone is going to see their favorite mods get nominated. Fair enough, these are the editor choice awards, so the player based ones will probably be different, but none the less, fellow community members shouldn't get put down simply because they are dissappointed.
Well, I'm going to give my 2 1/2 cents again. My personal favourite to win this award is curse, simply because it looks amazing, has some unbelievable originality put into it, the art direction is fantastic and absolutely nothing about it says half life 2. So in respect to those factors, i'd definitely hand this award to Curse. It ticks all the right boxes for me.
However, both cry of fear and lightspire look very promising and will be tough contenders. The fact that cry of fear is a HL1 modification and doesn't look it the slightest is a big bonus on their part, while lightspire simply looks amazing in terms of art direction, gameplay and it finally is a big step away from modern warfare in terms of Crysis mods.
So, in any case. All mods nominated are nominated for a reason, because they are good at what they do. But I think when it comes down to it. It'll be Curse that takes the lead.
I really enjoyed the most recent podcast (11561). I thought it was fantastic that a plea for constructive criticism was brought forward to the community. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the next pod :)

Thank you, things are looking good already :) just make sure you watch out for blackout studios in the near future!

Thanks for the auth. I appreciate it!
good stuff. Casbah was my favorite map on tfc :)
still can't seem to install it. says it can't find the cnc3 directory when i double click the installer :*(
congrats to mount and blade. yay :D

ah yeah, the good old days of absolute destruction :D

hmm i wouldn't say that.. i mean, it is the editor's choice awards after all.. things might look different for the player's choice categories.
there should be podcast17 acolades :D

ahhh still 5 hours to go.. lol i want to know the results now! I think the race is going to be between zeno and infinity!
no surprise, really. Just look at it.
Keep up the great work, guys. Grats for the win and the ..err.. teaser is wicked :D
