After extracting and installing it, I can't seem to launch eastern fronts. It only brings up coh. Keep in mind that this is the first time I'm installing a mod for coh, so I'm probably doing some noob mistake(s)! Thanks for your help in advance though!

nice series, you should create more and cover aspects like rescue rooms, safe houses, events, etc. Thats what makes mapping for l4d or l4d2 special! :)

Hello fellow modders,

I am working on a "as-of-yet-secret" project for which I need a landscape/environmental and character concept artist. It does not matter if you can do both, as long as you can contribute to one of these areas.

Due to the nature of this project, I will not reveal too much here, apart from it being a coop orientated post apocalypse mod. Upon starting work on this project, you will of course be filled in to everything there is to know about the project and where it is aiming to go.

If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to PM me via modDB, or drop me an email at mathias.burmeister@gmail.com and I will get back to you right away.

Thanks!

This is very true. And a very important point at that. I constantly meet people who are in it for the "short-time-success" without realising, that that is something that rarely ever happens. They read/hear something about people who came up with an incredible idea, which boosted them to the top and all of a sudden they feel they can do it, too. Gotta give them some credit for trying, but the fact of the matter is, that you need to invest a lot of time, energy, in most cases money and you need to have the willpower to stick it out. Otherwise everything that you have done will have been for nothing, and THAT really would be a shame.

Just look at the modding world, thousands of great mod ideas hit the scene on a regular basis and only a few months down the line, they call it quits because something didn't quite work out the way they had thought it would. I can only advise current and hopeful modders to take this article and video to heart.

Rather than wasting your time on boycotting a game, people should rather consider boycotting companies that play into the hands of the Chinese government's control on oppressing human rights. It is an outrage that freedom of speech and expression is still restricted in this day and age. The thousands of people who gave their life at Tiananmen Square, gave it in vain it seems. And here we are, putting effort, time and money into boycotting Left 4 Dead 2.

nah, but as HAIL said, this mixed with the screams, plus the atmosphere from the maps will provide for kick *** gaming!

point taken, however, don't think of it as invisibility, rather think of how a chameleon adapts to its environment. Its much harder to spot, but not invisible.

I appreciate the feedback, and to explain why I thought the idea would be very fitting, is the possibility or chance of necros actually having a sense of intelligence, which would make them far leas predictable and hence more scary ad dangerous. But at the end of the day, it's the devs who decide. Any idea when we might hear about shortlisting/winners?

yeah, i completely agree with that. I really think it should be the devs deciding this one. I mean, when I posted my idea originally it got bumped to -4 after a few minutes, now its back up to +5 - and I think the fact that ideas got buried has contributed to that, or at least it wouldn't surprise me. So for the sake of fairness, I really think the devs should decide this contest.

I agree. I mean, some ideas really are bit rubbish, but you can tell that the authors of those ideas are only messing about and probably just posted something for the sake of posting something. Other ideas, however, are truly great and would most likely add a lot to the mod. But regardless of whether its a rubbish or good idea, its a bit uncalled for to hit them with the negative karma just because its someone else's idea.

make sure you post your ideas in the news-post, as that is where all entries are meant to go. Just in case your ideas don't get counted here, and so you don't end up having the same idea other people already submitted.

lol agreed. the devs should just say that they will pick both winners due to lack of community cooperation, and then maybe this crazy karma voting will stop. some of these ideas are really quite good, but if the karma voting is anything to go by, they won't get taken seriously. I still have loads of other ideas to push out, but don't really see the point if people just pass around neg karma or get their friends to boost their own rating.

think i spotted a flaw with your contest, checked again 5 min after posting my idea and everybody seems to be passing out negative karma. understandable as they want to win, but think you (the devs) should possibly select both winners, as the community is likely to just flunk everyone's idea apart from their own. would be a shame to see an idea get picked because it had the least amount of negative karma, rather than because it actually is a good idea.

but in any case, looking forward to seeing the mod in action first hand :) keep up the good work and good luck for the motys!

Idea: Ambush/Environmental Blending

Ability Type: Special

Pro: When in a shaded area, necro players can hit a key (e.g. ctrl) and blend in with their environment, making them harder to spot. Once a player gets close enough, the necros can ambush them with a critical swipe attack.

Con: Necros will give off a low growl when blending for too long, to limit camping possibilities. Also, if their swipe attack misses, they get dazed for a bit, making it harder for them to escape the area.

This would be especially useful in areas where players have to complete certain tasks (stay for a prolonged time) and adds to the atmosphere.

(sorry also posted this on main profile, thought I was in the newspost already :/)
