Yes and yes, all of that will be possible :) and should be quite straight forward really. Some good ideas coming trough already! Looking forward to seeing the mod community grow :)
yeah, I watched that clip as well when preparing the article. Gave some good insight into what they are planning, what might be possible and how things are coming together.
indeed. although we know quite a bit already, everything might change by the time they launch the game and editor in its final release stage. Although I'm pretty sure that there won't be too many changes, you just can't be certain until its taking up space on my hard-drive :D
Once sc2 gets released we're actually looking to provide full modding support from www.enterstarcraft.co.uk and to keep People updated and informed with the latest tools, maps and mods
Glas you like it :) blizzard really seem to be pushing out the Boat for sc2. I'm really quite excited to see how this will impact the modding community in the longrun.
I'm sure that since you're friend is the author of the map, assuming it will be premium content, he will have full rights to give it away for free to who ever he pleases.
After four mindblowing games WhiteRa wins the Team Liquid SC II Invitational! He beat TheLittleOne 3:1 and received the 300$ pricemoney. Congratulations WhiteRa!
Thank you for tuning in and don’t forget that we will also be covering the GosuCup on the 4th of April - as always, on www.enterstarcraft.co.uk!
I agree, but you can't change people's perceptions that easily. Having community support is one thing. Expecting the community to play on almost empty servers in the hope of other people eventually joining is something completely different! Empty servers create doubt in players. Is the game as good as the developers claim it is? The first few times they might give the mod the benefit of the doubt, but if they continuously find empty servers, they will soon stop playing that mod altogether. It's a shame, but in no way the fault of the mentality of the players. Developing a great mod is not everything. In fact, if the developers can't show continuous community support (and I don't mean by simply developing more content - that's a short term solution), all the previous work done on the mod will be for nothing. Granted RnL is only in alpha stages and that might already keep players away, and the devs might have something in mind for the proper release. But empty servers in no way can be blamed on community mentality.
thanks for the tip, I just tried that, however couldn't bring up the console quick enough on first attempt, and second attempt I managed to bring the console up, but the game froze anyway :(
gz to rank 8 :) never seen this project before but I love the idea, although I think it will be a massive undertaking. However, saying that, I think if this is done right, it could very easily show competition to many of the big named MMO's out there right now, even WoW.
have got a firewall, but its configured to allow anything and everything related to half life and steam to be sent and received. Not quite sure what else I can try :/ I used to have a similar problem on left 4 dead 1 following the dlc release, where I would temporarily freeze upon entering a server, and then a few seconds later it would come back (almost as if I had a lag spike of sorts) but i was able to sort that out by verifying the cache. In RnL on the other hand it doesn't resettle itself after the freeze :/
need to ctrl+alt+del out of it. However it only stops responding when I enter a server. I also just tried creating my own server and it does the same thing. :(
i thought it might be server issues at first, but I tried it on a number of different servers and it always freezes at exactly the same point, with the sound looping :/
I got a prob with RnL, just downloaded alpha 4, installed it and tried to launch it. The menu screen came up fine, I was able to find servers (sadly almost all of them are empty most times of the day) and when selecting a server to play on it would take ages to communicate between my client version and the server side. Not sure if this is normal for rnl, but it is taking a lot longer than other mp mods for source I play. After the connection has been established and I'm on the server, I always freeze out on the team selection screen. The sound loops, I can't select any side, let alone go into spectator mode or even cancel.
I thought maybe defragmenting and verifying cache files might help, so I did that for HL2, Ep1 and Ep2. Sadly nothing changed. I play a lot of mods for source, both MP and SP and I don't have this problem with any of them. I have also downloaded rnl alpha 4 again and have reinstalled it.
Does anybody else have this or a similar issue? If so, were you able to resolve it?
In case this helps, I'm on vista Sp2, 3ghz, dual core, 3gb ram, nvidia geforce 8600M GT and I run on a 10mb broadband connection. and for windows users, my base score is 5.3 out of a max of 5.9.
I can't say that i have heard about this before, but it definitely sounds interesting. I'm a big fan of social experiments.
You should do a review on that warhammer 40k tower defense mod once. I thought that had some of the best gameplay in wc3 mods. So much strategy potential, different roles for players, teamwork emphasis and so much more.
I'd have to say neotokyo for this one. In terms of multiplayer, I haven't played anything (non-retail) this good for a while!
However, as much as I love the moty's and follow them every year, I find there should be more emphasis on the players' choice, rather than the editors. It is the players after all that make up the majority of the community.
I'd expect raindrop to bag this one. Very nice art direction, very promising development on gameplay elements, such as atmosphere, level design and general eastethics!
i think what spenzer said about combining the two is the best approach. if every character looks the same then it gives the impression that thats the resistance "uniform"..whereas if there are variations in outfit, ie. one player has a gas mask, whereas another only has a hoodie, it emphasises the struggle for survival faced by the resistance.
After extracting and installing it, I can't seem to launch eastern fronts. It only brings up coh. Keep in mind that this is the first time I'm installing a mod for coh, so I'm probably doing some noob mistake(s)! Thanks for your help in advance though!

absolutely love the profile. gotta say its one of the best, if not even the best, profile on modDB :D
the mod looks very promising already and just watching that teaser made me get my opposing force out again and play it through. again. love it! :)

Best of luck to you! I'll be tracking this :)

good as always, but what happened to the episode 67 news post?
Hey, I've done some basic nav meshing before. Might be able to help you out with it, if you still need it. Shoot me a pm, if you do :)

might be copyright issue, and they decided to call it peeJ :D

Not to mention english ;)
New job ad posted!
Dragunov all the way, however I also really like number 1 for atmosphere.

congratulations to the winners! also a very nice interview and loving the audio!
no longer a mod. they went indie last time I checked.
Still a very interesting concept, looking forward to giving it a whirl.
nice one :) already listened to it yesterday, but can't hurt to hear it twice :D
am trying a re-install now and will check again afterwards. will keep you posted
