Call of Warhammer: Total War. (Warhammer FB)

Mod review

Pros:
- Great graphics, stayed true with the company's vision and feel, using art from their history and websites to really capture the essence of the game.
- Made every effort to use every possible unit that it could be found in the series despite the inability to introduce flying units. Every unit looks as if great effort was made to make them true to the game.
- Consoles are well made and specific for most armies.

Cons:
- Campaign series had unrealistic army builds for Chaos, having full bannered armies appear out of thin air in multiple campaign attempts, way behind friendly borders. Campaign forces and buildings take way too long to build.
- Though not as often from previous updates, the system still crashes with elusive report of "unknown error, system will close now" in battles.
- bug: If two units of your units are involved in a battle, the system confuses itself and crashes if the check boxes are not set correctly for control of command, and sometimes the player does not have the option to choose which unit to command personally.
- Updates mean a whole new series of downloads, which have to be pieced together from pay for download websites or deal with throttled speed wait in line websites. The installation is rather haphazard for beginning installers. When contacted on the matter by many different players including myself, the developers have not bothered to respond to the issue at all. This hurt the score immensely.
- While this was not necessarily an issue for me, music was stolen from various games and movies, which could take away from the experience for others. This was not put into consideration for score review but it should be pointed out.

Rating: 6 (based on keeping to the storyline and genre, installation, support, game play consistency, stability, and goals reached by the objective of the product). Multiple variations have been installed to reach the review conclusion.

Space Hulk Mod

Mod review

Pros:
- Good integration of the original version, stays true to the board game.
- Very interesting layout in the game play
- Good additional music.
- variable painted units.
- Goes beyond the original game, gives the players lots of different enemy options.
- Stable mod with no crashes, once initial installation is correctly figured out (Retribution version, never tried Chaos Rites Version).

Cons:
- In the Intro, cinematic music is unavailable. (Minor issue did not affect rating.)
- Campaign button should be either greyed out or removed if possible since this version is not available.
- Readme should point out how to try both single player and give the players an initial walkthrough on how to start a multiplayer game. Going back to the Moddb website should be unnecessary, unless user is completely and hopelessly stuck in installation procedures.
- Blips can overwhelm the objective points on the minimap giving the player little data.
- Camera mode should be a little more varied.
- Spelling errors, some grammatical errors, due to it being developed in France?
- When loading the Army Painter, unit littered with very unprofessional text. Reduces integrity of the Developer.

Final Rating: 7.8, Rounded up for the system. Rating based on how well the mod was adhered to the genre, innovative idea, music added and painted variables, the integration and goals kept in mind, but was reduced by installation and lack of direction to get the game going.

Third Age - Total War

Mod review

Pros:
-Easy Install, hard to find anything wrong with it.
-Good Support, Work around for Steam steps spelled out to leave no room for error.
-Very immersed in its genre; units look like they belong.
-Images from the movie are a great environmental touch.
-Game has yet to show a lack of depth and character in its consideration. This shows real passion.
- Players that are fans of the genre have great opportunities to play with characters from the storyline, giving players greater satisfaction and yet another boost to the immersion of the story.
- No crashes, very stable mod, no glitches, feels as if it were made by the initial developers.

Cons:
- Negligible issue: game is a little slower than vanilla between turns and also during loading. I believe this is normal with most mods, and I wouldn't really call it an issue, but on slower computers may have an impact.
- Initial scroll gives you a guilt trip about possibly turning on your allies. Advisors should learn to keep their tongues from waggling lest they lose them.

Rating: 9 (based on keeping to the storyline and genre, installation, support, game play consistency, stability, and goals reached by the objective of the product). Installed using both the Steam Client using a friend's account to check his version and on my computer using a disk version.
