its a poppy, in the UK we buy poppies to remember the fallen.
The money goes to the commonwealth war graves commision and the British Legion.
Poppies were one of the few flowers that managed to ngrow around the trenches of ww1. Quite fitting as a lot of the fighting in afghanistan is over these beautiful but dark things!
