I don't know if watching School Days is the best idea for the romance element aha ... the thriller plot twist side sure.
I mean I'm a guy and these romances I enjoyed;
Clannad/Clannad After Story (Kind of slow)
Toradora (Super cute)
Ef. A Tale of Memories/Ef. A Tale of Melodies (The second season is SO good!)
If you like a bit of action I mean you could count Sword Art Online as a romance
Also Zero no Tsukaima was a good romance but maybe not the type you'd like.
Another two to go with the first three's theme; Dusk Maiden of Amnesia! (Kind of a mystery love story with Ghosts!)
And Gosick which is a uber uber cute show which is also probably the best Mystery anime I have ever watched! Lots of stories to be solved and a cute love story!
