SCΛRECROW Jan 5 2010, 10:02pm replied:

True...however, it's not about the clock speed.

Your card can render 4.4 billion pixels per second and 8.8 bilinear texels per second.

The 8800GS can render 6.6 billion pixels per second and 26.4 bilinear texels per second.

The 8800GTS 512 can render 10.4 billion pixels per second and 41.6 bilinear texels per second.

It's because of the maximum memory bandwidth of the cards 25.6 GB/s, 38.4 GB/s and 62.1 GB/s (respectively) and the number of processors: the 9500GT has 32 stream processors, the 8800GS has 96 and the 8800GTS has 128.

More factors are involved...but these are the main two.

(Sorry for long explanation. :P)

Good points. Keep in mind that SG-1 and SGA were supported by the USAF to a large extent. I'm not sure about the amount of military support for SGU though.

Just a mention of SG-1: Col. Makepeace was a corrupt military officer, implicated in stealing alien technology (Shades of Grey) and so was Col. Simmons. But yes, overall the military are the good guys and civilian agencies/companies were the troublemakers.

Do you think that Destiny's isolation from Earth (and indeed the rest of civilisation) causes the military to apply more "unorthodox" or drastic techniques, after all, they can't exactly be punished for it.

I don't think military worship would continue to the same extent as SG-1 or SGA, as the show strives to show the flaws of the characters, which would in turn call for more latitude in the portrayal of military officers.

Using your example, it is obvious that Young values loyalty and honour, but abhors treason, however he does have anger problems. A: He attacked Telford. B: He "killed" Rush. C: It is hinted that there is something going on between him and T.J., which betrays his sense of loyalty (to his wife). As you can see, a flawed character.

It's the same with any other character, military or civilian, they all have their flaws, and SGU seems to be exploring this area quite well. In my opinion, a bit too well.

No, SRBM is "Short-Range Ballistic Missile", usually surface launched. SLBMs (Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile) are submarine launched like SLCMs (Submarine Launched Cruise Missiles) and they can both carry nuclear warheads. Except SLBMs and ICBMs can deliver MIRVs.

No offence, but it's kind of a "meh" computer, very good value for the price though. And it depends what you are using it for.

Sorry to take your plan apart, the GeForce FX 5500 doesn't have SLi capability. The FX 5500 is an AGP card, while the board only has a PCIe slot. Also, you couldn't SLi with that board anyway.

I pretty much drew every single line in this model. This model started off as a BC-304, but I got sick of it half way though trying to get everything to look right and have the proper scale. So I built it up from there.

You may see some similarities between another model of the Daedalus on the 3D Warehouse where I tried to follow the style of main the engines and side panels.

Nice job on the bridge yourself.
