The mod also requires you to own Ep2, because we use assets from Ep2 (legal thing).
In that case it is either an installation problem or a steam problem. Try running Alien Swarm once, validate Alien Swarm, restart steam or reinstall the mod.
Apparently we cannot change this setting on ModDB...
Do you see the loading background when launching the game or does nothing happen at all?
When you launch the game from steam? Or when you try to load up a map?
- I think we don't have enough units for an Antlion faction in the main game mode
- Maybe/probably at some point
I will change it for the next release.
Incorrect. The "game" source code is available for various games (hl2 / alien swarm). The DOTA 2 SDK will most likely be a Cosmetic SDK.
Correct. You can't bind some of the keys in rts mode, because they are reserved for hotkeys.
Steam problem, see: Support.steampowered.com
Seems gamersfront blocks certain countries: Gamefront.com
I don't see Poland on their allowed list, which might explain why he can't download.
It's really unlikely they release the source code of DOTA2 (they don't even include the server binaries with DOTA2).
Can you provide some more information? So does it crash for both online and offline games? What version are you running (make sure to use 2.0.4)? What GPU do you use?
You only need Alien Swarm installed.
Github.com for c++ code and Python code is included with the mod itself.
You can do that in sandbox. You will get control in third person. Although some unit attacks might be broken in direct control (would need to check them).
Will be fixed in the next version.
We removed the shaders for shader model 2.0(b), which results in a crash if gpu does not support higher and you try to load a game. However it seems Alien Swarm's detection of shader model 3.0 is rather crappy, so we will add back the shader model 2.0 ones.
Alien Swarm is used as base for this modification, so you must have it installed.
You certainly can mod it: Docs.hl2wars.com
All units are defined in Python scripts. It should be relative easy to create a basic unit with a different model.
Can you provide some more information? It's hard too guess what's happening.
Selecting positions of the AI opponents will be fixed in the next version.
Extract content into your sourcemods folder.
If you don't rotate within 60 seconds, it should popup a hint with the keys for rotating. You can either use "alt + mouse" or "page down/up".
Thanks for your input, it would end up just as fast. There is no difference anyway when moving one or more than four units.
Validate your Alien Swarm Installation. This problem would only occur if you didn't get the alien swarm update of 7 july (http://store.steampowered.com/news/8357/).
I guess I should start implementing it then. Don't expect too much thought, it will just be a simple cpu player.
Either you installed the mod incorrectly or you didn't updated your alien swarm installation. Also make sure to restart steam.
