From your crash description, it sounds like either the mod install is corrupted, or Alien Swarm install is incomplete, or your gpu does not support SM3.0 (or is not recognized as such).
This is a problem with the Desura client. Please contact the Desura support. I doubt they will fix it though, because they don't care about supporting mods.
The recommended way to install this mod is downloading the 7z file.
Alternatively try putting Desura in compatibility mode "XP Service Pack 3".
You need to have Alien Swarm installed. You don't need the SDK bases.
Should be possible, WinRar supports 7z.
In contrary, most of the recent releases are all a bit bigger. The only older release that's bigger is 2.0.0, but that's because it's using zip instead of 7z for compression.
We require you to have Episode Two because we use assets from that game (mainly because of the NPC models like the Hunter). Note: you don't need to have Episode Two installed, we just require you to own it on Steam.
CPU Player difficulty?
It is actually supposed to automatically popup the install dialog for Alien Swarm if you try to launch the mod.
Can't get what to work? I'm pretty sure the video here won't be opened as a Word document.
For the mod download, follow the instructions in the download descriptions (you must use 7zip to extract the file).
It's not removed, it just points to our own website now.
The issue is fixed in the next release 2.1.1, which should be up soon.
Actually, it seems to be the case for all dx9 cards
First you say this version is ******, and then you say the bug exists in 2.0.9. Which one is it?
Specs? This version drops support for sm2.0, but I doubt your gpu is that old.
Click on "Read more". It's not possible to add all the changes in the "short description" part.
That bug will be fixed in the next release.
It's not possible to change the Game section on ModdB. The only way is to create a new profile/mod, which is stupid.
See our forum for reporting bugs: Hl2wars.com
Does it make the typical "steam error" sound when you try to start it? In that case it would indicate a problem with the installation. How did you install it?
It's not possible to change the game section on ModDB.
Did you restart steam? If it still does not appear, go to your steam directory, and check if the file "steam/steamapps/sourcemods/hl2wars/gameinfo.txt" exists. If it does not, you extracted the contents of the zip into the wrong place.
Extract the contents into your sourcemods folder (as described in the download description).
The Desura client is broken because the Desura team does not care about their client being broken.
We are using Assets from HL2: Episode Two, which is why we require you to own Episode Two on your steam account.
Can you provide an example of which buildings they can't hit? I'm having no problems here.
Will be fixed in the next version.
Not possible. It's a problem with Desura and it's seems the Desura team does not care about their client crashing.
Try to start Alien Swarm once, restart steam or reinstall the mod. If nothing happens, then it probably didn't start loading the mod at all.
It's not possible to change the game section.
And you have no problem running Alien Swarm?
What do you mean with "sound of static"?
