Why does the HMG look so different? The HMG in the og beta was based directly on an actual weapon: the Heckler & Koch GR9.
Something is wrong with the rocket launcher weapon, it fires a missile with no trail or explosion and does nothing besides that.

How to get only the UI graphics working?
Please improve gunplay. The gunplay in Jedi Knight 1 was actually better.
Ok, I've given the mod a try and everything is as I expected. This definitely feels like how I remember Deus Ex and more. Not much more to add than what has already been said. I understand the lack of new character models. The only options are either HDTP or making brand new ones, and neither seem viable right now.
One thing that sticks out badly are the interface graphics. They are severely pixelated and clash with the new models. There are mods that fix this like Deus Ex Enhanced or unifiedDeusEx, but neither are compatible with GMDX.
Another thing is the hand graphics, it honestly looks kind of silly with the new weapon models.
Please make at least the UI graphics compatible with GMDX.

One more question. Are there new character models? Or new textures for existing character models? Or any potential plans for such things?
Are the levels more detailed, and by that I mean not just textures? For example the PS2 version makes some of the levels have a better sense of presence with more assets and new non-intrusive geometry that makes the levels feel more like a place.
One issue I keep seeing with these kinds of cartoony 3D platformers is the lack of a unified art-style. The screenshots you have there look nothing like the 2D art. It is possible to get around this with a limited budget, for example A Hat in Time made use of a stylized aesthetic akin to cell-shading.
Can you remove the festivities of rooftop run? I feel like it's redundant because Gens version already has it.
Is the most recent version the most... recent version? Does it have all the necessary fixes?
You've got a nice engine here, but you have to actually do something with it in the end. Focus too much on your technology, and in the end that is all you are going to end up with: a technology demonstration.
