The fact that serious religious propositions are hard to tell apart from the 'obvious trolls', to my eye, says more about how ridiculous, by and large, religion is, than it does about peoples' ability to discern sarcasm on the internet.
I've just come across this after not having played it since the first few versions and I have a question which might sound a bit noob-y; is this still in goldsource engine? This looks awesome!
I downloaded the latest version and installed it but it doesnt look like this... where can I find this version? What exactly am I looking at?
I was a huge fan of the originals long before Conviction was announced (I was even looking forward to the "hobo Sam" version that got canned) and I thought Conviction was awesome. The co-op campaign was one of the most solid and well thought-out I've ever played.
I guess they just had to balance the benefits of brand association against the possible alienation of series fans cuased by changes in focus with game mechanics, and ultimately it's impossible to please everyone.
Regarding the aggregate scores of about 7 or 8 out of 10, even though I had considered Chaos Theory the series' high point, I couldn't honestly look past it's flaws to give it any higher a score than I'd have given Conviction, albeit for fairly different reasons.
I'd known about this for a while but never got around to trying it, so when I heard that they were doing a legit remake I bought it as soon as it came out and it was really good. Short, confusing, but good.
Indeed. I only wish Uncle Gabe could learn to count to three some time soon, though. I mean, I'm all for building anticipation, but it's getting a bit ridiculous now.
Please give me a key to CS:GO
So I can brag to my friends and have something to show
If you don't I might cry,
All those noobs won't die,
And I'll have hit a new personal low.
There once was a gamer named Sadelis
Who used most 'his bandwidth on boobs
But then came along Mod Database
Who gave him a chance to pwn noobs
If you give him a key
You'll fill him with glee (not that terrible show, the emotion)
And keep him away from pr0ntubez!
I really like the fp model for the weapon. The arm sticks out quite a bit (which is what it'd look like if it were from the perspective of an actual person). I know alot of games avoid doing that because it can obscure the screenspace but for survival horror type games I think that can only be a good thing anyway :)
it does look a bit clearer but i can't really remember since i haven't really played doom3 since it came out. did you sharpen the normal maps aswell? also, does this run in tandem with the parralax mapping mod? plus a few of these screens look like they support bloom effects. is that new aswell?
did you huys hire a designer or something becuase the whole 'exploitation/grindhouse film' thing is awesome. love the obscure action disco music playing during the trailer aswell. you guys should experiment with post processing effects for the game, like kane & lynch 2, only maybe not as extreme.

"An empirical race of beings..."

'Imperial', perhaps?
But yeah, other than that, nice trailer.

sparks from hitscan impacts: unconvincing
everything else: holy crap, that's amazing!

Gifthorses are having their mouths proverbially eye-raped right now, but I can agree your sentiment. Looking forward to this title :)

why is this listed under single/multiplayer when it doesn't have a multiplayer mode?
why is this listed under single/multiplayer when it doesn't have a multiplayer mode?
why's this listed under single/multiplayer? there's no multiplayer in this... not even any viable mods for multiplayer
...my thoughts exactly

lolwut? give it back! ...actually, not sure if want -_-

Use Windows (let the comment burying begin).

I need CS:GO for my child
So this new entry here is joint
COD might leave him beguiled
But son, I'd be dissapoint
If we're dreaming it's my totem
I'll burst through your scrotum
This last line's relevance is mild.

Looking good! Can't wait to see more :)

Yeah, the lighting looks great. I think it's very atmospheric. Maybe you could post tips on mapping for hammer-editor neophytes.
wow this looks awesome! love the dos-style art direction. music sounds suitably bitty aswell :)
The poor lighting in the Deus Ex engine doesn't do the your mapping skills justice. This still looks great, though.
Funny thing is that Invisible War has had a hi-res texture mod out for some time. Looking good.
lol muzzle flash on silenced weapon

Even without playing the mod, you certainly get props for best game description ever.
amazing work even by today's standards. makes the gldsrc engine look so nice
