Somewhat late comment, I know....
But since this is basically dead, I only check here rarely.
The keeper ship's effect does what? Never seen that happen before....
The "everything turns black" is actually intended to work like that. it comes from one of the Battlecruiser hero's upgrades.

Open the game folder and look in the "bin" folder for the "region" file.
Open that and change the locale to "english", see if that helps.

I got quite some trouble as well. I t won't even let me start the program.
I downloaded it, checked the requirements, installed all the required program in the required versions, I deleted the settings file, I started it as administrator... it just won't let me start.
I got the required hardware and Win7, I did everything your site advised me to do. Program won't start.

If I remember correctly, it's a Borg transwarp tunnel hub from StarTrek Voyager... probably as a 2D background object.

Hm, ok... but still. The energy required to fire this thing can't come from just a corvette's generator. Or the rate of fire is very low.
I simply wanted to suggest that you use the Lance Laser's projectile animation and not the (totally oversized for a corvette) Pulse Laser shots.

So you want this baby to have a Laser Pulse Cannon on this? I personally think that you should simply use a Triple Rapid-Fire Lance Laser. The Technology of the Trinity Cannons is just way too big for a corvette chassis.

Get the EMP shell upgrade fro the thiefs, it's highly effective.
Also there are the Mercenary Units, epensive but strong ships that are "built" very quickly.

A BIG fan of Stargate (all of it), Homeworld, Star Wars EaW + AddOn and Battlefront I+II(Just these games, not the whole lore...), Command&Conquer in total (especially Generals:ZeroHour), Magic the Gathering TCG, Transformers and lots and lots of mangas.
