Ok, this is either gonna be very long, or very short. I'm not sure which.
Anyway, I've been wanting to say for some time now, that I'm pretty fed up with the FL community at the moment. Whilst there are a few people actually doing things, the majority of the community is all talk and no action, and is content to stay with badly done, incredibly tacky and rushed mods like Crossfire and Void, which frankly, are a stain on the modding map. The trend at the moment. (With the exception of a few) is to go for quantity over quality. Taking an example from the front page of the Starport:

Someone wrote:* a variety of 549 different planes and ships

Why, I ask you, would you want/need 549 planes/ships/whatever? There's no way that it's all balanced out, there's also no way that the creator of this mod didn't model them all, and there's also a good chance they're taking from other games. (Bloody Star Trek. I don't mind TCs, but mixing material in that way is the worst thing anyone can do.)
Why do people have this inability to come up with original materiel? I swear if I see Yet another mod that deals with the return of the Nomads, I will personally hunt down the perpetrator and strangle them. It's just so... Stupid. What's the thing with balance as well? The original game was unbalanced as hell, with most players going for the 'Eagle' very Heavy Fighter, which could deal with almost anything easily. A few adventurous individuals tried out other ships, but mostly it was that damn Eagle. Improve the game, balance it out. Don't create more Uber ShipsTm . It bothers me, it really does.
Also, Shame on the person who keeps trying to DoS the Starport. Hacking is the last thing a community like FL needs right now. Don't be so damn selfish!
Hey that wasn't So long after all!

Peace Out.
